[Q] I need to root and put a recovery on a P5113 with official 4.2.2

Can someone point me in the right direction? I root my phones all the time and bought this tab for my daughter the other day for a steal and would like to get kitkat on it! It seems to be running very slowly and choppy with 4.2.2 on it! Any help would be much appreciated!

first try to wipe cache partition in recovery and even then if it is laggy uninstall unwanted system apps which you dont use and you can also try scripts like fly on mod or crossbreeder to boost speed upto a level

I have already done a factory reset. I dont have root at this point so i cant uninstall any of the bloatware. Can i run scripts like crossbreeder with out having root? I would like to get a kitkat rom flashed. may cm11

download the cf root file and then root your tab through odin that it buddy

The problem that i am running into is finding the right drivers. I tried the samsung site but it just give me kies exe. When i connect my tab to the computer it comes up as an unknown device! Do you happen to know where i can get the correct samsung drivers for a win7 pc?

in google search for sam usb drivers and open the xda thread that is shown in results and download and have fun

If u r on stock ROM or aosp rom download appropriate kernel such as next or agni
Then flash them in recovery
Recovery should be working.....
Volume up+power button
Reply if it works

Same happened once on my galaxy y duos... I managed to fix it by downloading stock rom which is flashable by odin... Then went to download mode and flashed the rom then it booted just fine..

Requirements:

Instructions:
0. First download the above files
1. PLACE THE ZIP IN SD CARD OR INTERNAL SD
2. THEN GO TO RECOVERY BY PRESSING VOL+ ,VOL-. AND POWER BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME
3. WILE DATA/FASTBORY RESET , GO TO ADVANCED SETTINGS AND WIPE DALVIC CACHE AND GO TO MOUNTS AND WIPE SYSTEM
4.CHOOSE INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD AND SELECT THE ZIP
5. WAIT FOR THE INSTALLATION TO COMPLETE AND REBOOT

you said the sim card is not working after flashing this rom, have u checked ur imei after doing the same?? is it alright?? imei is needed for sim to work.

Yes I checked imie for sim 1 and 2
The result is
Sim 1 correct imie
Sim 2 imie showing s2 which is not right
But both not working
Plz help

Guys I think this can fix the issue for simcard
Go to settings,mobile networks and set the NV to RUIM/SIM
I CANNOT CHANGGE IT

i cannot get dvs to look into this cm12 and try fix atleast sim issue
but they cannot so.........
i found lenovo k30 t cm12.1 that is lolipop 5.1
ill share it you guys try it
i dont have my phone so i couldnt try
will be back in 20 days(my phone)

On my old phone - sony xperia sp the problem was solved with selinux mode changer from google play I think.

Yeah bro I tried to fix the sim with flashing modem..atlast that ****ty modem made my limie invalid.. so place don't flash modem g you guys have to got to service center
And wait for 20 days...

Thanks bro, but in my case I restored my old backup. Everything is working fine now.

i followed the steps carefully and flashed the rom but after the device booted it froze at the first page select language and i flashed the rom many times after that and it froze every ones at XOS logo please help
note my devise is note 2 pro B1

do you have a custom recovery installed? very important if you want to flash anything.

i have checked twrp and custom as well but failed. Even after installing custom recovery unable to wipe the fone in stock rom. What will be the issue ?

My Case is when i do install stock rom in my core prime G360H everything works fine even i can format my phone through recovery. But when i install custom recovery(TWRP and CWM) both one by one and root it then unable to wipe the phone system. So , after custom recovery phone is not wiping and therefore custom rom installation shows the error of restriction or any rom kinda error.

Battery problem
Battery shows only 2000 mh
This problem occurred in miui 8 also.
But miui 7 ported by you, have 3000 mh battery.
Please make battery at least up to 3000 mh
Consider base rom as miui 7
So rom will have at least 3000 mh battery.
Is there any way to increase mh of battery.

Hi , Thank you for this wonderful ROM. Using it for 2 days didn't reveal any bugs. Battery of 2000mAH is an issue. But I think it should not be a problem.

New rom update have been released please port that!

NO Sound in MIUI8 and MIUI9
Hi,
Please help me i am using ur rom MIUI8 for many months and it is this second time that though the phone is in general mode i dont have any sound [ ringtone,notification, etc. ] it works only in earphone only and not without.
I restarted the device, removed temp, restored defaults, reinstalled rom, changed rom from MIUI8 to MIUI9 but still the issue persists.
I full clean reinstall for new rom, it did not help, plz help i dont want to move to other roms.

I am face same problem with my device..i am not capable t to running call...but music is work fine....so i am use headphone during call...i think its hardware problem because i am face same problem with stock rom....
So it's over device problem i think..os is work perfectly.

i again tried to install this rom today but got error as failed to extract. Following are the steps peformed.
a. i was on default firmware.
b. flashed philz recovery 6.57.9
c. applied the root.
d. clean format for new install
e. 1.5gb repartition by sachin
f. flashed ur miui9 after sometime got error as - failed to extract.
repeated the process again and then tried to install ur miui8 same result failed. then i tried miui7 by sachin it worked. please help.

Yes bro but now i have some internet problem so i am not upload it... otherwise i do that

Current Miui 9 ROM version 7.9.30 is best rom. Everything is perfect
Battery backup is supereb
