Possible to convert Sprint A9 to US Unlocked? I did it with my HTC 10. - HTC One A9

I was wondering if this is safe to do. I converted my 10 to a International model by flashing the firmware package by removing the radio.img, recovery.img (to keep twrp), and changing the android-info.txt model ID to match the model of my device, in order to use CM13 based ROMs.
It worked fine, no issues as far as I can tell. I was wondering if this would be possible with the A9, in order to get CM to boot on it?

Do you have s-off? I think s -off is the only way but I've never heard of this method of changing between different radios and firmware before, I would try it but don't really want to mess up my phone lol

[Q] Using Radio from one device on another

(not sure if this is the right thread, please move it if it's not)
I've got an older phone, the Samsung Galaxy I5510M (Callisto), and unfortunately my region never received a gingerbread update. There are gingerbread roms available, however the radio does not work in my region. I have tried flashing the original froyo radio from my region, but the phone simply doesn't boot.
I also have an HTC ChaCha/Status(e810) which uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227, which from what I've been able to find actually also contains the radio.
The radios available for the HTC device are in a different format(and contain bootloader, and some other stuff as well) but hypothetically, if one were able to dump the radio binaries or something via terminal, one could simply flash that binary using Odin.
I'm wondering A) is this possible, and B) how could I dump my radio from the htc device for use on the samsung device?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Why did Odin fail to install firmware from a foreign country/carrier ? (clues)

Can anyone confirm that its not possible to flash a foreign firmware unless the phone is network unlocked ?
But could it be possible to flash an efs image from an unlocked phone before flashing a different firmware ?

The main concern would be that the firmware is for an identical device, because they often differ physically. Single SIM vs dual, Snapdragon vs Exynos, etc. I don't know why carrier lock would have anything to do with it.
I don't know if this is relevant or not, but on my USA T-Mobile Galaxy S4 I use Omega ROM, which changes my device from sgh-m919 to sgh-i9505 (international model). The side-effect is that it sometimes thinks I'm in the UK, even though I have my location set to where I am. For example, I can't use the Amazon app because it loads amazon.co.uk instead of amazon.com and the keyboard often tries inserting a superfluous (in an American's opinion) "u" to words like flavo(u)r and colo(u)r.

[Q] Flash SM-N915W8 (Canadian Note Edge) firmware onto a SM-N915V (Verizon) phone?

I'm thinking no, but wondering if it is OK to flash a stock Odin fw that is different from the device's carrier? Has anyone tried this? From what I recall from other Samsung devices, worst case is it would fail but not brick the phone. But still want to see if there's any feedback for this phone.
Have a SM-N915V here (SIM unlocked) in Canada and would like to flash a Rogers stock fw onto it if possible.
I guess NO
Reason : both the device have different partitions(that is the only thing i guess). if partitions can be matched it can be tried as hardware is more or less same.
Still i would suggest take a full Nandroid backup including the efs, and flash the firmware, even if you brick you can recover.
Thanks. I assume this is where .PIT's come in - but I understand the danger of force-flashing a PIT of one model to another model. Too scared to brick. Will stick with Verizon firmware ;D

Which US (Qualcomm)S7 to get?

I'm looking at upgrading from my Moto E4 and settled on the Galaxy S7 over the Pixel due to the MicroSD slot. I now have questions as to which version to get.
I understand that it's relatively simple to flash the unlocked firmware on any of the devices. Could I just simply find the cheapest, good shaped S7 and flash the unlocked firmware and be satisfied?
I'm currently on Sprint's 1-year free service promotion until September 2018. So Sprint compatibility is needed for a while. After that, I want the freedom to be able to hop back to AT&T or Verizon (or one of their MVNOs).
Should I just buy a Sprint S7 now, then when my service is up, flash the new firmware then? Or should I buy a T-Mobile version and flash the 930U firmware right away? The universal unlocked model is significantly more expensive, so I just want to make sure I'm covering all my bases.
Depends on your goals. Flashing via Odin is quite simple and easy for the S7, but the US models all have a locked bootloader. That means you can only flash stock firmware files, and nothing custom. No ROM's and no TWRP.
If you're happy with than then you're set, if not you'll need the international Exynos model, as it can be unlocked and flash custom.

no ROMs is OK with me. the exynos version won't work on my current provider, so can't go that direction anyway.

whats best way to flash unbranded SM-G715U1 to U for vzw?

So both my phone and vzw branded phone are same model, and android 11 firmware is out for verizon and my phone received the G715U1UEU7BUC3 ota 11. Is the latest Odin software and verizon G715USQU7BUC1 firmware what i need to get it done?
Also, do i need to do the full flash or can i get by with just one file that includes all the vzw bloatware. From what ive read i can get by with flashing just the userdata file. Once complete ive also read i need to do a factory reset and that it can be done i DL mode. Is that true? Finally can i leave my sim in for this or should it be out
?
?
Anybody??
Not even a response from Europe where they must hand these xcover pro's out with every gas tank fillup.
I have the latest version of odin installed and downloaded the verizon ota firmware G715USQU7BUC1 and am ready to give it a shot. I would just like a little confirmation im on the right track. Bootloader versions are the same. (bootloader is still locked) Even a grunt would do..........
