[How-to] Test a rom in the wmulator?

Hey.
I have tried searching both Google and this forum, but with no luck.
I have just downloaded the latest cyanogen rom (not for the nexus1), but before flashing it to my phone, i would like to remove some of the apps that i never use, add some i need and also try and make my own animated splash screen.
But before i flashed it to my phone i would like to try it out in the emulator, just to check it for errors an such things. But I dont know how to get it to work in the emulater.
I have made and AVD with the follow command in the command prompt:
android create avd -n enhanced -t 8 (where 8 is the ID of the 1.6 target)
I know have a AVD that works, or atleast thats what i think.
I also have downloadet and installed the SDK
But if anyone can guide me to how i can test the latest cyanogen rom any help would be much apprieciated.
Per
I'm wondering the method too...
Ive also searched high and low for this and didn't find anything.
If anyone knows of a way to test ROMS please tell us how!!
There must be someone on this forum that knows how to load a custon rom in the emulator?
I got it working, a Hero ROM on the Android emulator

HELP ! What after rooting???

Hello,
I have rooted my HTC Tattoo using universalAND root app. I want to know what can i do after rooting it?? and also if i want to install froyo 2.1 on it how do i do it ?
also will it work on my tattoo ?
Just search for Android Froyo 2.1 in Android Market and push the Update Button....
Wtf search the forums if you know nothing!
Yeah dude he's right do some research.. its not that hard.
I'l give you a quick list of what you can do:
Apps2SD (store apps on SD card)
CPU Overclocking (self explanatory0
FLASH A CUSTOM ROM (I highly recommend that is what you search for first)
Wireless Tethering (share internet connection with your PC)
And lots, lots more...
Your first point of research should most definitely be Flashing a Custom Rom.
But seriously how hard is it to just search google?
@ xtcislove : sorry for being so lazy...actually i was searching for things before posting this..but got really confused half way. thanks for your advice.
@ Android001 : thank you for the starting points..will get to it soon.
no problem..
you do realise he was joking about the market and update thing, you cant do that
yes... well i managed to root my tattoo with universaland root. installed titanium backup. its asking for busybox. when i try to do adb i keep getting an error. i searched the forums for an answer, but they r not helping. m attaching an image if u can just go through it and let me know what can de done..it will be gr8.

I cant see any picture?
I don't know much about the Tattoo because i use a Hero..
For BusyBox i know that it comes built in with most Custom Roms, I know for a fact that it comes with all Villain and Cyanogen Roms.
I think there is an application on the market that I have seen before that attempts to install BusyBox.. but that isn't guaranteed to work.
Does it not just install when Titanium Backup gives you the option to?
And why don't you just flash a Rom then you wont have all this trouble.
Okay a little bit i tell you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=544
Here you should have a look first.
1. Install a Recovery Image
2. Install a Custom ROM
3. Modify your Phone personally but carefully! Do not so much at the system and do not download things of other Phone Section´s!

SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse.And it did successful :crying: And as I realize that rooting my device with SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse not include with the CWM.Actually i founded the CWM.zip in my external SD. An after I check the file is CWM5 which is a little bit old. Perhaps the SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse comes with that CWM5 version. But still I can't extract it through recovery mode. It say "can't mount the sd card, I did recheck and found out that I already checklist the USB debugging.
I figure out that i must install it separately after rooting with SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse. I also read the thread about installing the CWM 9 or 10. One of the thread in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576553 it is a nice thread, but I still need detail steps in installing either CWM9 or CWM10 on my device.
This is my device specification :

Can anybody kindly help me to get through with this newbie problems. I appreciate your help.Thank you so very much..

[DEV] Let's Port CyanogenMod 12.1 to Leagoo Lead 5 - (in progress)

so Lets Port CM 12.1 to Leagoo Lead 5!!

First, I would like to say that I'm not a developer but I have the knowledge,
I've got an old Leagoo Lead 5 (that I'm not using) which is a great chinese phone and more than capable of running the latest Android software (now its running 4.4.2 and company says it cannot be upgraded),
so I've decided to take the project to my hands and I believe its possible, I don't know how many of u have this phone but here is the thing, I will port CM 12.1 from Android One (Sprout) device which has the same processor,
IDK if it will have bugs on it but I'll try to fix them all, I don't actually need testers but feedback and posts to show how many of u have this phone and if its necessary to share it with you will be enough
* what I do need is an actual developer for the future who will help me with the bugs I predict
I will provide this thread with the Downloads and also a guide to show you how to root the device and flash TWRP on it and then flash the ROM
here is the actual steps I'm going to do:
1. make a flashable stock zip ROM using my Leagoo and the Stock ROM itself
2. convert sprout CM 12.1 zip ROM and compare it with the one I made on step 1 using the MTK Porting Guide
3. provide you with the results and the Downloads
stay tuned
That would be awesome!
I cant wait for the beta version!!!
Are you still building this rom?

Aosp 5.1 Review for Huawei Y3 Lua U-22 - Tested by Myself

Hello World!
I have used Huawei Lua U-22 for somedays & flashed some CR there. I have used 3 rom from this post - Custom Roms For Huawei Y3II. Please kindly go to that post to get the download links.
Here, I am only posting some screenshots of those rom because main post didn't include them. Hope you'll 'njoy!
Aosp 5.1Android Open Source Project - AOSP. Another clean and responsive rom for Y3 Lua U-22. The only downside of this rom I think is the ringtone section. Existing ringtones are not that good. Consider using from other source.
I can't remember, but the rom is probably not pre-rooted. I have flashed magisk to gain root access.

Hi,
First of all, I am really sorry I didn't see you commented. Too late :/
Anyway, unfortunately I couldn't find any thread which will guide you how to install the rom. And there is a reason for this - installing a rom is self explanatory, and very easy. You'll need a custom recovery like TWRP. Then keep the rom file in your phone storage, boot the device in recovery mode, select the rom, & press flash. After finishing the installation, reboot device, you're done!
Here are some video for you to understand the situation:
Before that, you have to root your device of course, and unlock the bootloader. Here's a video for that too, if you didn't unlock your bootloader already:
BTW, don't try to install any rom that is not made for Huawei Y3 Lua U22. It may permanently brick your device. I tried to cross port a rom & flash it myself, and guess what? My device is no more :')
Have a good day!
