* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Known Issues
Please do not report bugs if it is already listen in the list of known issues
Some VOIP apps don't route audio properly with actual Audio HAL, so you won't hear anything. Check FAQ for Workaround
SIM Toolkit (STK) doesn't work (KK Specific bug)
Wireless Display with some TVs could cause issues (AOSP bug related to HDCP. Google doesn't provide a solution)
Any Chinese (CHN, I9500ZCUxxx codename) Baseband/Modem will decrease call quality due to forced Wideband AMR
Rarely, when you wake-up the device, touchscreen will have a noticeable input lag, easily fixable by turning off and on the display. (H/W or S/W bug?)
Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didn't exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

Differences between GearCM (Optimized CyanogenMod) and Official CyanogenMod (NIGHTLY):
Degrated Shadow said:
Enough of those dumb questions..
The official CM rom is maintained by @Alberto96 and @intervigil
He makes the very recent changes here relating to performance.. which are then in time pushed to CM official rom. The kernel is different because it has selinux disabled and few minor tweaks you might not even notice.. this gearcm rom will have more performance. But CM rom will have their updated base changes which are included here with each update.
What I mean is you probably wont even notice what's different in terms of user interface.. gearcm will have more performance. Official cm will have updated sources. But it will include gearcm's changes in time as @Alberto96 pushes them to CM
You can decide by a simple choice. more performance and not-nightly updated sources or similar performance (improving with nightly updates) with updated sources. I would choose gearcm because of the reasons I mentioned above. Do what you will.. and let this be a note to everybody who ask this again and again and again. Don't spam the thread with same question in every alternate page.. Because there are other people who might have different problems they need to ask. Read atleast 15 previous pages and the first post changelog before asking the question. Reading most of the times will give you a solution and if not most of the info you will read will help you anyway.

FAQ (Frequently asked questions)
Where is "Developer Options" category?
To activate 'Developer Options' category in Settings you need to tap 7 times on 'Build number' located into Settings -> About Phone.
What can i do to fix VOIP audio calls?
There's not a real fix yet, so i found this useful workaround that could help you.
If you need to make a VOIP call:
1) Play something using stock music player (also third-party music players SHOULD be fine)
2) Do not pause audio playback
3) Make a call using your preferred VOIP app.
Or you can just use a Wired Headphone/Headset | BT Headphone/Headset.
This workaround should work also for incoming VOIP calls.
How can i solve problems with Hebrew language?
Go to "Developer Options" in Settings and check "Force RTL layout direction".
What can i do to reduce the "echo effect" while in-call?
Try to reduce in-call earpiece volume (if possible). Shouldn't be required on latest builds.
I'm having problems with battery life, what can i do?
1) Use "Greenify" to hibernate all apps with a "little cloud + 'Gcm' word inside" on the right of each app's name. Donation version is recommended because it allows deeper hibernation of apps
2) Disable "Location" or set it to mode "Battery Saving" (Settings -> Location)
3) Make sure that your 2G/3G mobile network signal level isn't always low or unstable
4) Deny "Wake Up" and "Keep Awake" permissions to Google and third-party apps. (Settings -> Privacy -> Privacy Guard -> Press menu button and check "Show built-in apps" -> Press menu button again and go to Advanced -> Horizontal Scroll to Device)
5) Disable "Sync" or sync only useful stuff like Contacts
6) Disable "Auto-rotate screen" (Settings -> Display & lights -> Rotation)
7) Use one of the latest Modem/Baseband listed on first post.
8) Disable Ambient Display
9) Install Xposed Framework and configure Amplify
If this isn't enough then replace your battery and/or reduce your phone usage. :silly:
Is GearCM OTA supported?
Yes (Since 20150707 Build)
Why is my phone over-heating while playing heavy-games or running heavy-apps?
Use a bit your brain to explain why. High CPU and GPU usage = high heat production. Your phone will automatically throttle CPU when needed so don't worry, it is safe and normal.
Can I use another kernel instead of the one included in the zip?
No. Only use the included kernel for 100% compatibility, bug reports with non-standard kernel will be ignored.
Can i disable S-View cover features (lock/unlock)?
Not yet.
*** IR Remote app isn't working anymore/was working on previous builds/causes my phone to crash, what can i do?
Contact *** IR Remote app developer.
Any question about "Can't connect to camera" issue
Do not "stress" camera because we don't use yet a proper implementation. (Exynos limited open-source env.) Just Open & Close Camera apps carefully without force-closing them. (and do not do this frequently)
Oh yessssss!! Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you @Alberto96

Yessss. Thank you very much @Alberto96 Need we flash gapps uprading from another build of CM11?
Maybe for this first complete release wipe all data and flash latest gapps. It's better for no risk of bugs.

Ok. Thank you
Touch keys stay on when touching the screen. They supposed to go off until have been touched.
Home button delay. Takes about a second to respond. Kinda like the delay when svoice is on.
Maybe a bug fficial launcher takes alot of gpu power. When browsing the pages my gpu instantly goes up to 400 mhz and above. Not happens in nova.
Your doing a great works we all priciate the time and effort on this. Huge thanks.

Get almost working ROM.
It should be better to just rename our mad cm13 ROM.zip
That's exactly what a Spanish user also did with "his" cm13 pseudo ROM
Considering the amount (if not all the critical base things ) are all prebuilt... From Mad cm13
There's even frameworks that where simply copied from MAD cm13
In the end, it's just another port
There's a lot of things that he could /should be building
A huge part of the source code used from xen0n , so it should be called xen0n cm13 , not Mad cm13
@superdragonpt, whats the problem?
You have credits in thanks to.
Some part of this ROM was used from your CM, huge amount - from xen0n, all is right with that.
Besides, you're also using xen0n sources, do you?
So, why do you saying that it is your renamed ROM? Please, clarify that more detailed.
Also port it is something that wasn't build from sources - just changed some files. This ROM is build from sources. So?

because device tree and part of firmware used from them , but I am not android developer , so I can not used my own device tree ,and if this is so critical, I can delete all binary files and this firmware
@sandstranger, hmm, device tree is free for all (opensource) as it was published here. Anyone can use this device tree freely in their projects with credits to The M.A.D. Team. So. I don't see any problems in this case. Nobody says that this is his own device tree, all credits added.
I don't see any problem.
Xen0n?
We don't use nothing from him,lol
That's a different approach, we don't hack SE or nothing like that (example)

Nothing wrong ,you got me wrong
I'm saying, the use of so many prebuilt things from MAD ROM on his Vendor is very bad.
For example , why including framework parts??
I mean, there's at least a bunch of blobs that should be compiled ( will compile)/just fine
In the end, all that's important to make the ROM boot, important things/Fix's
Its all prebuilt
@borizz that's why I said "port"
Libs (blobs) are prebuilt (copied) from cm13 MAD
Understand ?
Simple
cheers

Everything device specific is prebuilt from MAD,not from xenon
I would love seing you even trying to boot the ROM, without all the prebuilt things you used from MAD...
(You wouldn't )
Not a critique, I'm just saying...
Why saying " source built ROM" when the most important is all prebuilt?
For me that's my point really
Other than that, nice to see community involvement
Good luck
Ok , I understand it now

Hard to explain for someone that doesn't build Android
(Not a critique )
He built a "generic" cm13 from source, that is correct...
But what he actually buit, would never work, it even would never boot on our device, without the huge amount of libs ,etc that where just copied.
Its fundamental a "port" .
Nothing about "credits " or so, just explaining it to you.
For the normal user, this is very misleading
Still nice to see this
At least he did some work... And actually partially compiled some things
What's the problem with FMradio, you need some help?
Did you try using just the prebuilt Mad fmradio.app?
You can add it to your device, using a platform signature + the relevant "libs" we built to fire it up.
Let me know
@superdragonpt, thank you ,we really appreciate your help.
Just to be clear - no one from us tries to steal your work or somehow say that we're 1337 developers, no.
Thank you again for explanation and help.

Nothing about "credits" or steal work at all
I'm actually saying that there's a lot of things that could /should be built without problems on his CM13
I'm actually offering my help to help fix the fmradio on his cm13...
If I didn't like him, I wouldn't say it
But this is MM, we have been working on 7.x builds, so a lot has changed.. Ever since ( thank google )

@superdragonpt
The work of the MAD team is very good, but the team's responses to other developers (professionals, amateurs or novices) are always abrupt or impolite. Please do not reproach other people's work, do not write complaints and scorn. It helps to get a better job. Help and teach the way to other developers. We will all thank you more. It helps to teach because other OS developers also taught you. Helping the community is also a job of the MAD team. Listen to my words .... please ..... thank you

This already seems a good answer. An educated and conciliatory response. Thanks again
FMRadio fixed now.
Will be included in next release.
UPD: fixed video in browser.
hey guys, im bored of RC5, but I seriously want Marshmallow because Xposed is available for it and 7.1.1 stable 4 has a few bugs I assume. my s3 doesn't go on 3g and is on 4g or 2g.
So, I wish someone would enable exfat in AICP11 till xposed is available on 7.1.1 or which ever newest build arrives during that time.
New build1 arrived just in time

Sory, my failt. Its working now.
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
It is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Root Access and Theming Guide
Want Root access??
Just flash with TWRP the LineageOS SU Addon zip file found on the download section... Flash it after you have flashed Google Apps!!!
Then enable the developer options menu with this guide:
To enable Developer Options, open the Settings screen, scroll down to the bottom, and tap About phone or About tablet.
Scroll down to the bottom of the About screen and find the Build number.
Tap the Build number field seven times to enable Developer Options. Tap a few times and you’ll see a toast notification with a countdown that reads “You are now X steps way from being a developer.”
When you’re done, you’ll see the message “You are now a developer!”. Congratulations. Don’t let this newfound power go to your head.
Tap the Back button and you’ll see the Developer options menu just above the “About Phone” section in Settings. This menu is now enabled on your device—you won’t have to repeat this process again unless you perform a factory reset.
Now go into the developers options menu and find the option to enable root access!!
Flashed the SU Addon and now you want to remove it from your phone??
Just download the LineageOS SU Addon remover and flash it with TWRP...

NO, AT&T MEXICO haven't VoLTE it is HD Voice.
VoLTE is making a voice phone call over the data LTE network. VoIP.
HD Voice is a higher audio codec that provides clearer calls.
HD Voice is a requirement of VoLTE, but can be implemented on HSPA or EVDO.

Governors only for XPerience project
Alessa:
A less aggressive and more stable ondemand modified by TeamMex. A good compromise between performance and battery. It can be used with the complementary hotplug governor.
This governor is a balance between performance and battery.
XPerience:
The governor aim for an “ideal frequency”, and ramp up more aggressively towards this freq and less aggressive after. It uses different ideal frequencies for screen on and screen off, namely awake_ideal_freq and sleep_ideal_freq. This governor scales down CPU very fast (to hit sleep_ideal_freq soon) while screen is off and scales up rapidly to awake_ideal_freq when screen is on. There’s no upper limit for frequency while screen is off.
This governor is a balance between performance and battery.
HOTPLUG:
Alessa Hotplug:
A simple hotplugging driver optimized for dual to octa core.
When the device goes into idle state, the hotplug is responsible for moving the processes to a single core, keeping off the cores that are not in use.
And it lowers the frequencies to the lowest possible, but without getting to remain in a deep sleep of which it does not wake up.
Note:
Touch boost enable only if you do a hard work if not maintain it disabled .
Ascarex TCP congestion driver:
My new TCP congestion driver called ascarex
Ascarex employs end-to-end bandwidth measurements to set cwnd and ssthresh after packet loss.
The probing phase is as the original Reno .
Have a modified control mechanism for use with large congestion windows.
A table indicates how much to increase the congestion window when an ACK is received.

If you do, efs backup never restore it or you can lose your imei
And if you do it is at your own risk.
t is the reason why in some TWRP this option is not active.
You need wipe Data factory reset to install this.
cheers

Battery tiles are fine, same size in QS, and well its OMS 7, latest stable release, RR and Aicp tend to update this constantly, next update (rootless, masquerade 24 ill isn't public yet.)
Got surprised with this one, he made a huge progress from a unusuable Lineage for this one, that I wouldn't call Alpha.
Never tried it before, since for a normal user doesn't make much sense when you already have a stable ROM (I'm not the average Joe in Android but...) now I recommend the average user to test it.
RR Is one of my favorites, had it in a Moto E. But at Jiayu is a whole different kingdom.
Congrats, and our community wins

I just dunno if this kernel support fastcharge
@Borizzz
It is a wonderful rom. I think it is already stable and not alpha. I found 3 problems.
1- Do not play videos on Youtube.
2- You can not make calls (or receive calls) through the bluetooth in my car.
3- The flash in the night photo is usually out of sync, dark picture. Thank you very much for this work.

For me it works, check if you gave masquerade root permissions.
BTW is alarm sound working for you guys? It only vibrates for me, almost lost the time for work due to it --'

What root app are you using? I'm using stock root. I tried all of my subs theme but none of them work except for typeface fonts. I already give root permissions for subs and masquerade. Can you send a screenshot of the theme you're using? And btw. I use google clock, alarm works fine for me. And youtube videos can now be played with wythuk's youtube megafix
Here's mine. But all of my themes that i applied didn't work

Also, suddenly, the alarm stopped working for me. Also the ringtone did not ring. The camera, too, suddenly stopped working. I have not discovered the cause. So I came back to install on dirty rom and gaaps .... Now everything works properly
