man when I had the g2, battery was amazing. either way, my s7 at 3kmah sucks and is horrendous , so I doubt the v20 will be worse.

might wanna check this out if u think the s7 is crap.
their battery tests mean nothing. it's not real world usage. I'm not talking on my phone for 16 hours or watching movies for 12 hours. those tests are stupid and don't apply to everyday life. also pretty sure that's the exynos. we got screwed with the snapdragon in both terms of speed and battery.

Wasn't that battery test for the S7 for the Exynos version? Which is known to be more battery efficient? Lol

Good thing there will be a zerolemon battery soon
The battery life is my biggest fear with the V20.
I've heard atrocious things about the V10, and had abysmal battery life on my old G4 that left me never wanting an LG phone again. The V20 is the only phone out there with a 5.7" screen, expandable storage, and running software that looks close to stock Android. All of that becomes useless if the phone can't last throughout the day.
Guess I'll have to wait for some real world tests to be done first.

Carrying a second battery just isn't ideal for me. To be honest, it's more laziness than anything else at this point. Maybe if LG brings out a standalone battery charger like they did for the G4, I'd be game.
But more importantly, I'm torn between the V20 and the Pixel XL. God I miss having stock Android, but I'm definitely leaning towards the V20. Micro SD storage and bigger screen that doesn't look like an iPhone = win for the most part. I'm hoping the theme store for LG can become robust.
I don't see why they wouldn't have a stand alone charger. The v10 has it.
I have the charger and extra battery and also the 250gb SD card they gave out as promos when it was new.
I use a zerolemon most of the time though! I prefer big phones with some weight to them! And heck... I just don't worry about charging.

A spare battery kit is now available on e-Bay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-V20-Batt...132805?hash=item2a721d0c85:g:Hj8AAOSwCGVX9Jnk
I left the V10 for the S7 Edge. However, i am probably going to pull the trigger on the V10, leaving my S7 Edge. The V10 was great but the battery life was horrendous. I had a spare battery and I would have to swap it by the end of the work day every day.
Coming from the Note7 it can only be better.

I am on sprint and have a galaxy s4. I am happy enough with it.
I want the ability to leave sprint and be off contract with either att or tmobile.
I am worried about what I reading with battery life on the Nexus 5.
Can anyone comment on their experience with both he 4 and the 5? Pros/cons etc.
One thing I can tell you from my experiences is that N5 battery is way better than S4. S4 is a powerful device but battery was one of my reason to stay away from it.
My N5 blows my S3 away non battery life.
I had a s4 and i was disappointed with the battery life, the galaxy series never exceeded my expectations especially when they inside touchwiz it reminded me when i had the s2 and the complaints people had,
With amoled displays its ment to be more efficient but it drained so fast when in use, so i swapped for a n5 and even though the battery is smaller i don't need to charge it twice a day.
The n5 is a nice solid device to hold,no bugs to mention, just nice smooth vanilla android
My s4 could not connect to camera often, wakelock bug, reboot required, standby drain,no knox security or deterrents for unlocking boot loader.
Bugs varied from device you may not experienced these.
Thanks for the response.
I was going to get the 6, but that is just too big for me. 5 will be a keeper for a while and it can be used on Sprint ATT and TMobile.

If you only listen to music, use social media and make calls, the battery will last a day. Now, if you start playing games and watching videos all the time on youtube the nexus 5 you will run out of power at the end of the day. I'm very pleased with my battery life, and with Android Lollipop promising better performance, you can't go wrong getting a nexus.
Funny, when I owned a s4, the best part of the device was the stellar battery life. My only gripe with it was the amoled screen (looked fake to me).

Battery didn't improve much from the S3 before it. AMOLED needs a lot of juice to get the brightness level usable though that has been somewhat resolved in the latest generation panels found only in the S5 and Note4. Hopefully the Nexus 6 was able to procure them and not stuck with last year's tech as the Moto X 2014 was forced to do.
The Nexus 5 blows away the S4 in everything. I set it to ART and it is much faster.
Spark on Sprint is 22mb down.
Very happy I made the switch. What a great phone this 5 is, kicking myself for not getting it a year ago.
Looks like there's new stories and a lawsuit over S7e's exploding from battery issues. Maybe a recall will be coming.

The Note 7 has a large amount of devices catching fire/exploding (~90 in just the US alone) over a very short period of time, and they found a clear, traceable defect in batteries coming from one supplier. The situation with the S7E is nothing like that after several months on the market and millions more sold. Seriously, there is nothing noteworthy here.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/...-may-have-galaxy-7-edge-problem-too/90375218/
Oh, I think something is noteworthy here. My GF's friend is getting a new S7e from Sammy for a battery recall.
Maybe they will learn that it's a good idea to have a removable battery.

Judging by the amount of S7 devices and iphones being sold, I'm pretty sure nobody cares about a removable battery.

When those are the two best phones on the market (The third being the Nexus/Pixel line)...there really isn't a choice.
I wouldn't say that no one cares about the removable battery, I'd say the manufacturers have made it so that we just don't have the option and have to make our decisions based on other factors.

Not even two months after i received my S7 edge, my screen developed a green line on the right side of the screen. And the battery was heating up, and the phone was getting really hot. I took it to a Samsung service center, and they replaced the screen, and battery.

Should I be worried? The first couple of days of ownership were the worst for getting hot. I rebooted when it felt hot and it behaved itself for a while. I've not been able to identify if it's an individual app causing the heat build up. It does seem to run cooler after a reboot. It gets warm when fast charging via usb or wirelessly but nothing too worrying now.

Hehehe... Yeah, that's maybe thru. My sister's iPhone 5s was overheating, so she sent in for repair. After a few days they called her to pick up the phone. She went to the shop and the service guy gave her the phone with a new battery and showed her the old battery.
The old battery was like a balloon and it exploded on her open hand, in the shop.
Sometimes it happens, Samsung is unlucky because it starts to happen to brand new phones with a few days usage.
You will be happy with the phone. I had never a better one. And I've used every brand and OS.

No she didn't hurt. The battery was not hot anymore, and her hand was opened. The explosion just scared her.

Thank God!I have heard enough about people got hurt by the phone explosion.I'm really sorry for the victims,I'm also tired of being threat by a phone. what really disgusting is some conspirators trying to make profit from these incident.

It happens. Do a search for iphone fire and you'll get quite a few results as well.
Who knows what's happened to the phone leading up to the alleged fire. The thing has been out for 7 months so the timing of this is very suspicious.
Hi Guys! I was looking around on Amazon for a extended battery coz my stock battery is draining so fast. When the battery percentage is between 18% or 15% sometimes it turns off immediately (without the samsung poweroff log). So I found this battery in Amazon (sorry the pic is from ebay) and I'm thinking of buying it. What do you think? Is it worth to buy or not?

Heck... I did not think it was really possible! 1 thing I would want to really know, is what kind on "Protection" is out for something like this? Knowing, that "IF" the battery is larger, you need a new back side (Battery Cover)! OK, Now, needing a new Battery cover, also means that any sort of Case will not work at all !!!! So, what is really out there for protection of the S5?
I will be checking into this! Yes, already have been looking into a newer battery. SO, guess I might as well look into this sort of thing.
Only concern, is Protection of the phone, after a new, larger , battery cover!!
Sounds like your battery is pretty old. What is it that you actually do with your phone? I would suggest just purchasing a new battery instead.. I just bought 2 new batteries on Ebay for under $17. You can also get a wall charge to keep them charged, and change out at least once a month..

Yes it comes with a new back cover and a phone case which is bulky. The only downside I think is it has no waterproof protection.

I was gonna get a similar case. My S5 battery is literally from day one release lol its not bloated or anything since I use Device Control to down tune the CPU and GPU (Kinda like apple does with iphones) but I don't mind more bulk for better battery. Easier to hold in my opinion
Где купить?
I have a 6600 mAh battery made by Tothl Technology, model EXTS5 that I have used in an S5 for a couple of years. It has worked pretty well. Due to its thickness, it came with a replacement back cover, and it does bulk the phone up a bit.
I've a power bear battery/case 6800mah or 7200mah. I works more like à 5500mah battery but It works like a charm .
The 4 or 5 first charges are a bit long. but really do the job.

Well I have same problem, but still on 7.0
I had about 4 hours SOT with android 7 and now only 2 hours with android 8.
No update ota Oreo for me
Nothing in France, European firmware, no news for me?
I'm very surprised that everyone is getting bad battery life and many are complaining about ram management. Take into consideration that this phone has a small battery for its display, not that it has bad battery life. -- I just recently purchased u ultra sapphire glass edition, which I believe has the same specs except for the sapphire display and 128gb hdd... For me it has been working very well indeed. No issues to report as of yet, battery life is not great but most certainly does the job given that it only has 3k mah.... Granted I have to charge my phone 2-3 times a day, but that's because I'm a very heavy heavy user. For me it has given easily between 4-5 hours of SOT... I use a lot of apps and most of the time you'll find my screen to be on... I send emails a lot, watch Netflix during my spare time in the office and play a bunch of games. Yes, I literally use my phone a lot... Specially for emails and Netflix. I think the phone is doing pretty good considering the battery size. Also, as far as ram management goes it's been doing very well for me and I'm surprised by the performance of this device. Overall, it's a very good device and the secondary display is awesome. I don't really need this phone but I was interested in the display and that is exactly why I purchased it to see how the sapphire really is comparing to regular displays, but this phone does keep up with some of the other flagships of 2016/2017 phones.
I'm currently on Nougat and do not plan on updating to Oreo. Why? Because I know the specs of this phone will probably not be able to handle Oreo really well comparing to nougat. I'm sticking to nougat where I know it's running well and smoothly, without any issues...
