[Q] M2 Dual (D2302): Does it actually support four 3G bands?

I bought an M2 Dual (D2302) so that I can use it mainly in Europe BUT I want to have 3G reception while traveling in the USA. The phone is supposed to be quad-band in 3G (900/2100 for Eurasia and 850/1900 for the vast AT&T network in the States). It says that it is quad-band 3G on the box, it says so in the official whitepaper, it even says so in the FCC testing report...BUT...when I enter the service menu it indicates that the phone only has 900/2100 in 3G! So, does it support the "missing" 850/1900 UMTS bands or I'll be stuck in GSM-only while in the USA?

LTE networks, bands and modes for various countries

Just thought i should post this since i noticed a lot of people complain about LTE not working for them on their Mate 7 even though their network operator has LTE. Well the truth is that unlike 3G, LTE has two different modes. One called TDD/TD(Time Division Duplex) and another FDD (Frequency division duplex). What this means is that if your LTE network is on say the FDD mode, and your mate 7 supports TDD, even if your frequency is supported it wont work for you due to the fact that your mode isn't supported on the device. This happened to me and i did a research and found the reason. Though there are some devices that support dual mode LTE (meaning they support both the TDD and FDD) but unfortunately the AM7 doesn't. Especially not the one that shipped to Nigeria. Mine supports TDD but unfortunately the only 4G network available for use on mobile in my country (Smile network) is on the FDD.
Also check this blog for your network operator to see the band, mode and frequency it uses. Hope am allowed to post links but if not moderators should feel free to remove it. Thanks

Your information are a bit off. The Mate 7 distributed in Nigeria supports both the FDD and TDD LTE. It just does not support the band that Smile is using which is FDD 800MHz or Band 20. It supports the TDD 2300MHz (Band 40) supported by both Spectranet and Swift Networks in Lagos. iPhone 6 supports both bands 20 and 40 in Nigeria. I think the people in Huawei in Nigeria miscalculated since only Swift and Spectranet are available in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria.
These are the bands supported by the Mate 7 sold in Nigeria. FDD-LTE 1800 / 2100 / 2600 and TDD-LTE 1900 / 2300 / 2500 / 2600 (Bands 1, 3, 7, 38, 39, 40, 41).

Honor 8 American Version 3G/LTE Bands compatibility

Hello everyone,
I really want to buy this phone BUT I need to know if the american version of the Honor 8 sold in the Hihonor US website it's compatible with the next 3G/LTE Bands:
- 3G: Bands 2 and 8
- LTE: Bands 3 and 4
In the Hihonor US website says the phone bands are these:
- WCDMA: B1/B2/B4/B5/B8
- LTE FDD: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B17/B20
So I can say that supports the bands I need, BUT (again) in web sites like GSMArena and others says it does't support the WCDMA Band 8 and LTE Band 4.
Who lies? Honor or the other websites? I'm confused...

Gsmarena have the specs of the Chinese version
I think you should go with Official websites, as they often are correct.
Other websites gather their data from multiple sources, and doesn't always specify which model's data they are showing, so head over to a US Honor website and check their data, it will be the correct one.

P40 work in US

Will the P40 work on Verizon in the US?
Huawei P40 Pro have very bad cellular network support for US bands. I have only tested Huawei P40 Pro 5G and here is supported 4G and 5G combos and bands: https://cacombos.com/device?model=ELS-NX9 . In Verizon network this device works only single band.
No. None of the unlocked Huawei smartphones support Verizon US because Verizon uses CDMA technology for 2G and CDMA2000 for 3G, and unlocked Huawei phones only supports GSM technology for 2G and WCDMA for 3G. While their 4G network is technically supported, Verizon and Sprint require devices to support their 2G and 3G technologies in order to make phone calls and text messages.
