[ROM] Dirty Unicorns v11.0 (Nougat) [unofficial] [no new builds ATM] - Nexus 7 (2013) Android Development

Disclaimer: Flash this ROM at your own risk. I am not responsible for what you do on your device.
I've paused this project, since the DU team has not published a official Nougat release (v11.0) yet.
Please be patient and wait for a release.
Thanks!
Dirty Unicorns v11.0 (Nougat) (unofficial)
for Nexus 7 (2013)
About Dirty Unicorns:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Thanks, will give this a runout later (as soon as I can get it...afh is playing up a bit ATM)...
Cheers.

Been running these builds since they first appeared on AFH. Running the 9/19 build and I must say they are the smoothest nougat builds thus far. Awesome work! Thanks.

Afh is under maintenance for a while . Gonna try again later, can't wait to try it out. Thank you for sharing this ROM with us !
Edit: I can't see any files on afh . has it been removed?

Seems to be so. I am going to re upload the file when i am at home.
Edit: The ROM is now available for download. Happy flashing

Flashed this , seems to be working really well. Titanium works fine, got all my apps moved over, etc. It's super speedy especially once the thing settles down, battery life, I'm not sure about yet, but so far, so good!
*Updated*
Can't seem to get Landscape to work, it's set to auto, the only options are auto/portrait, landscape isn't even an option at this point in the settings... hmmm

Just finished flashing. Works great but the sensors do not work , please fix them. And it's the first 7.0 ROM that has inbuilt advanced reboot options ! All it needs is the circle battery icon, bit that will come with time Thank you once again !
Edit: I've attached a screenshot from a Sensor App.

do you know if this will work on Deb (with no mobile data)
and what GApps are folks using? Open Mini?

Micro gapps flashed fine.
Auto rotate and brightness slider are busted here too.
Brightness slider works if you disable adaptive brightness.

Does it work also with the LTE version ?

No, however you can try the one on afh for deb. That works well too until op decides to make one for Deb too.

New build is up!
The sensors should now work.

Hi ! Would you consider a deb build too?

Short summary until now:
Works great, but the following flaws are still unfixed (and yes, I know that it is still in beta):
-> Alarm clock can only be set to ring tones
-> Tweaks nearly completely empty
-> Battery Icon can not be exchanged
Else great work!

I've also uploaded a build for deb now. Happy flashing!

That's because not all features got ported from Marshmallow to Nougat yet. The DU Developers just need some time.

@Mazda did you approve this release? Beacause du nougat isn't released yet. @reyscott Can you close this thread as this release has no permission.

This is unofficial build... it shouldn't be problem I think as long as users do not report bugs to DU team

Doesn't work that way, Alex has stated that he wants no one to build publicly yet multiple times on his g+ account.
No idea why people can't wait for officials, then unofficals are no problem.

Hey, this runs well. Using the latest Elemental X kernel @1890 w xposed installer and Gravity box with an Omniswitch apk from the latest Omnirom. Nicely done. Thank you
Test
Okay guys... You guys greatly overwhelmed my Server when we launched. I don't have any money so I am using a free host.
That said, I would like to provide a fast alternative to Downloads in case the site ever goes down. Now bare with me with this suggestion...
What do you guys think about BitTorrent Sync? I know that it is a little complicated to set up; but once you set it up, you are done. So I am providing a Test for you guys.
If you have some time (and bandwidth), would you consider (re-)downloading to test the capacity? Instructions on how to do it are hidden below if you want to test:
Download BitTorrent Sync
Skip Setup and add a Sync Folder
Select a Folder (maybe /sdcard/Vox)
Enter this Secret into the Box: BTD2MQMNDQGGPKMMEZTIFC3SAD4SUQLTI
DO NOT CHECK Automatic Sync as this will download all the files, you only want to download the latest for your device!
Press Done and then open the folder in the app and download the Nexus 5 ROM, Nexus 7 ROM, and/or the QuickBoot APK.
File will be in the folder you selected when you decide to flash (in this case /sdcard/Vox)
Thanks for all of your help and also thank you for downloading!
Sincerely,
Brandon Giesing, Founder of Team Voxive
Well guys... I just lost all my data on my computer because of a partition error. I guess this project is dead.

An Update
I know that I promised an update a while ago and have not (yet) delivered...
First, Swipe to Float is becoming a pain in my A**. Literally, I just can't get it to build with it in there...
Second, PA has abandoned the Settings Reorder on their Gerrit... Should I also?
Finally, in some better news, I am trying to add Native USB OTG support for Flo. PA has it enabled on Hammerhead but not flo even though it should work.
If anybody wants to help with the ROM (some code fixes and stuff as I don't know how to code), that would be great!
Stay tuned...
Nice! First, i love PA-based ROMs and secondly native USB otg is what im ultimately looking for. Since sabermod is not updating thier ROM for a month now and third im gonna try this ROM now but the dL link is not loading. ?

Good and Bad
Okay guys, some good and bad news...
Bad news, my flo's charging port broke yesterday. This means that I have no way to test my ROM. Also, I am without any device...
Good news! It broke while I was in the middle of building! So, I have one release you guys can try while I wait for my device to get fixed by ASUS.
Below is the changelog and it is big.

Also, I have moved downloads to AFH as my personal server had download issues. Here is a direct download to today's release.
Finally, no... this doesn't include the new recents. AOSPA hasn't released the source yet. But it does include a month worth of improvements to AOSPA.
I hope you guys enjoy this and I will see you later.
Thanks,

Update
As you may have read a few posts back, my Flo has broke. Here is an update on that.
First, I have received it back from ASUS. Problem, they didn't fix a thing. Charging port is still broke and all they did was slap a sticker on the back.
Secondly, I tried to build an update anyway. Problem here is that some changes AOSPA has merged in are breaking builds for Flo/Deb, meaning I can't build an update till they fix it.
However, there is some good things. By time they fix the build system, the new recents will probably be open sourced as they are introducing a new feature called Dynamic System Bars. (I actually helped them announce it by Teasing the Teaser!) I have not got a chance to try it but it looks amazing. Think Tinted Status Bar but 50x better.
Also as of last Wednesday, I started back at School, I am a Senior this year so after I graduate, I will have more time for projects like this!
Hope this gives a little insight.
Thanks,
Brandon Giesing

Build 7.2.1 has 245 DPI (which makes everything tiny),
Next weekly will have 268 PDI (hope that is a little better)
So does this mean that we can start downloading from SlimRom official website?
I'm so happy!!!
Kudos!

Yes of course, this means you can download directly from SlimRoms website,
And you'll have a weekly as soon as Slim team release one (you don't have to wait for me to do it )
Also you should be able to update using OTA updates between releases.
Enjoy.

Omar.

When making phone calls through a Parrot MKI9200 bluetooth car system on this rom, the person in the other end says that my voice stutters and is not easy to understand.
It does not happen on "stock" roms.
Anybody having the same issues.

If you follow bugs in LP from the start you'd know these are minor
Recent bugs in LP were WiFi, Mic and Camera
these weren't working, and these were the major bugs, so now all of them are solved,
and we're left with these less important bugs

Omar.
This rom is very fast and smooth, and battery life is better than cm12! keep it up! :good:
Hi Omar,
the ROM works fine, thank you (only the build-in SMS app crashes, now i use another app), but could you give me a link to a working TWRP?
I'm now on 2.8.4.1 but I can't mount or read File-System, the Recovery says: no OS installed and so on.
So I'm now very uncertain about the correct TWRP-Version.

thanks a lot, Omar,
now I've got an working recovery, but one more Question:
change Filesystem to f2fs is in this combination of ROM and Recovery not working?
I wanted to play around a little bit, so this is not important.
Karl
now I tried the TWRP from the Multirom-thread, there I've got the button for f2fs.
Do you know, how long the next boot after formatting cache with f2fs needs? I was waiting about 30 min with running boot-animation and nothing happened, so I made a reset, boot into recovery and go back to ext4, but device runs animation, nothing else.
thanks for an info

Updated without any problems!
switched from your RR Rom to SlimLP for my z1c, since i have SlimSaber from @fusionjack as a daily driver. seems all pretty alpha but very very familiar, stable and smooth. all works fine so far, video recording working fine, musicplayer was missing from the rom, RRO is integrated, layers working brilliant as on my bacon. using the same layers as on my bacon, same goes for viper4android working also great.
many many features are missing from what you already have ported from the RR roms, but i guess they will come cm12 amami nightlies are out there, so it would be nice, if you could port some old features like HW button remapping, quick settings tile reorienting, network indicator and percentage for the battery, kill app button (would be very important at first i guess) to the Slim rom. ask @fusionjack for the commits/code/features, i guess he would be pretty happy to share it makes it a bit easier to get along as fast as a single person can get
for the bacon, besides temasek as a cm12 using engine, i prefer slimLP for the RRO and layers. much better to get a style working.
thx for the amazing port of slimLP for the lil brother of my bacon, my amami <3. keep up the good work. good to see, that someone cares about the little things in life xD
best regards
Mike
Many thanks for this great work. I have only 2 questions. Hope you can help me.
1) Is it possible with this ROM to install apps on the external SD? In the past I had SlimROMS and was able to move apps to a SD card.
2) Is the camera working with this great ROM?
many thanks for the feedback
Rom works fine.
Thanks for that. Only one problem. When i go to recovery i always get the Red Triangle Dead Android.
Skipping this with the hard ressetbutton. Everithings fine. Just seem to lost my recovery.

This is just the initial build so no changelog
As for what is working and what not, well most of the things work so waiting to hear what is not
Making a Nandroid now, but then I have to go afk for a bit and need my phone ... I'll be flashing it this afternoon though :victory:
I haven't had RR since I got my G5 and sold my S4 (with RR on it  ) in early May, can't wait to get back on it

If you are responsible for h850 builds, when would you like me to take over the h830 builds? Not trying to sound rude, sorry if I do, just don't know how to word my question.

nah kidding... doing this for the free puppies

@nima0003 will most likely try to maintain it since he has that variant and can test it
I will build H850 versions
Why is there 2 threads for Resurrection Rom?

Because first build by nima0003 was not booting due to some compiling errors
I compiled for both H850 and H830 to let members test and add feedback, but my focus is the H850 variant as I don't own the other
So I explained him how to build it properly and he will most likely take care of the H830 build
Also this thread is a DevDB one that is better suited for development builds
So why don't you add a detail on this thread's title like [H850] and the other to [H830]?
Since waiting for nima0003 to confirm if the build process worked and if he can take care of builds
For now this is for both H850 and H830 and can also continue to be so in the future
This is like the CM thread where two members are taking care of different variant builds
Flashed it and mostly set it up, now restoring apps with TiBu ... oh how I missed all the possibilities RR has for customizations :victory:
Seeing the RR bootlogo nearly brought tears to my eyes ... almost 6 months without RR was definitely too long :crying:
Thanks for making RR possible for this amazing phone @gwolfu :good:
I hope that we'll get all bugs fixed in CM to profit of Resurrection ROM.
Love RR. IMO its tbe best. I have the h850. Downloading now. I will report if any bugs were found. Thanks @gwolfu
Only bug I found so far is that Allo fc immediately when trying to open it ... tried 2 times, uninstalled/installed Allo again, no dice.
But since everybody I know uses Hangouts or Whatsapp anyway I'm not too bothered about it
Well I have 2 bugs:
1. double tap to wake don't work.
2. While changing led notification led always blinking.
Otherwise from what I've see all works well.
I have 2 requests:
1. Can u make vibration stronger?
2. Can u make more space between nav bar icones.?
Thanks for your hard work

Hi World,
I've been building a ROM nightly, pulling from LineageOS, LineageOMS, and SultanXDA.
It's been fine for me, so I thought I'd share it for others to use too.
This is my first go at posting this kind of thing, so please go easy on me.

Thanks I didn't realise there was already a similar ROM, which is why I built this one.
It looks like the other is adding other features, whereas I'm sticking to the sources for now, so that's be the difference between the two.
I'll get the change log in the reserved post
Hi! Thank you for your work!
Please consider taking features from this unofficial Sultan's build by @matssa as, according to him, he will stop building for OP3 as OP5 comes out.
Would be awesome if your rom kinda 'inherited' his work into the future

Hi @Nezorflame, I didn't realise this ROM existed until yesterday! Looks interesting, and definitely more involved than what I'm currently doing. I won't be implementing anything from that ROM until development ceases on it. If/when that happens, I'll definitely look into it

Looking forward to it! One thing would be nice though, even if we forget about the features - OTA update
Started using your builds as Matssa is about stop supporting his builds. Got no issues, runs stable and smooth. Looking forward to future updates. Update notes would definitely help this rom grow, ota as well
Switching to this ROM as well as matssa will do only one, final build. @prmcmanus please consider my previous request
Would be really cool if this Dev picks up right where Matsaa leaves off.

I think calling me a Dev might be overly-generous at this point, but I'll learn as I go and do what I can.
I work a 4-on 4-off shift pattern, so I'll look into Matssa's ROM more in a couple of days, and I aim to pick it up.

That's good news! Matssa managed to get lock screen blur working like on official Lineage. Sultan's builds and your current builds don't have this feature so I'm looking forward to see you pick his ROM up.

Yes! Finally just a LineageOS ROM with sultan kernel and OMS without all the extra stuff
THANK YOU!
OTA updates would be one nice thing to add... For the rest it's perfect as is
@prmcmanus
I've just downloaded your build to flash..
Why are you not updating your thread, I've seen you're making build daily ( may be nightly)...[emoji106]

'Cos it's the first ROM I've shared and I don't know what everyone wants to know
I've been a bit suspicious of the fact all the builds are coming out at a very similar size, so I've started from a clean slate on the last two builds and they still turn out similar.
Not had a chance to look at Matssa's build properly yet.
OTA will be the first thing I implement, given that it's what is being requested
