Sorry if this has been posted before. I have successfully install a custom recovery but cant seem to find a good ROM that supports this specific device? Can anyone help? I wanted to use the cm-resurrection_remix but when I installed the one i downloaded it says my device is not supported.
You shouldn't flash roms made for other tab2 variants - it would brick your tab! Happylie you flashed the right recovery and it saved your tab.
Right I didnt flash it. Can you recommend a good ROM that is available for my device. The device is so sluggish with the stock rom even after factory reset and removing a lot of AT&T apps

there is no rom for your device, i think. google it. maybe you have luck.
I'm also looking for any usable rom apart from stock. I have an sph-p500 which is technically the same as sgh-i497 but found no roms at all. any help appreciated. all rom links are broken. I know the device is pretty old but I don't want to shred it.

Help! My galaxy s4 is rooted and I installed twrp recovery but now I can't get the new updates for my phone. Does anyone know how to get the stock recovery for an at&t quad core galaxy s4?
I'll do some research for ya real quick man!
Edit: Found lots of information online.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
Plus these websites outside XDA:
http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/06/how-to-unroot-unbrick-galaxy-s4.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1jyZ5QafAQ
These websites should give you what you need.
Also, what new updates are you referring to? Whatever new updates Samsung may come out with, there will be someone on XDA that'll tweak and/or customize it.
Then incorporate it in a custom ROM.
No matter what, you can still get what you want from your custom recovery I'm sure.
Hope I helped man!

Yup, I understand that man. I've been searching for the stock recovery for ya and haven't found just the stockrecovery.zip.
Fortunately, you can always flash the TAR file provided in my previous links and reboot to stock everything (ROM, recovery and Gapps) if you messed up your phone somewhere.
As of now, I haven't been able to find the stock recovery zip alone. If I find one I'll post the link here for you for future use though!
Also, have you considered just getting the new Gapps? I don't know exactly what you are trying to get from reverting back to stock recovery, but consider the fact that you might be able to find it/them without going through this trouble

OK. Basically you'll have to root it, flash a custom recovery like CWM and go to CM's site and pull a pre-built ROM for your device and install it via recovery. But it's likely to be a tedious process with many many details left for you to figure out yourself.
You'll most likely need Odin/Heimdall to deal with Samsung Galaxy devices. Since you are using S3, a very popular model, hopefully there are already pre-rooted images for your specific model on the Internet. Just grab one (be careful with its version!) and flash it with Odin/Heimdall. Usually flashing PDA(Odin 3.07)/AP(Odin 3.09) alone is enough. There are many tutorials on how to accomplish that with either program in the forums.
Be sure to wipe the data partition before installing CM or it may get stuck in the boot loop.

Hello.
I'm using mini tablet, unknown brand, chip is rk2928.
I flashed two ROMs on the device, none of them with touch.
I guess I need driver or something, but don't really know what to do.
Any help?
Which ROMs did you flash?
You should flash ROMs specially made for your device, not for any other device.
Even flashing a ROM for a different carrier version of the same device can cause serious problems (AT&T Note 2 ROM on International Note 2 for example)
You will need to re-flash the Stock ROM for your tablet.

He is talking about a Tablet with a specific chip, for these chinese tablets, the brand does not matter, its the chipset can flash any roms that are for that chipset only.

your right you have to flash a touch driver, it sucks to try to find it so i am unable to help you though its normal that if the touch does not work you would have to find a touch driver, you have done nothing wrong its just these chinese chipsets suck to develop for.
Hi
So I really like android, used it for about 2 years. However, I never got a chance to see how CWM worked. I did see some videos, and they went into recovery (which i know about), and selected "CWM.zip". Does just booting/selecting this affect my android device? Also, if I use "Backup and Restore", would that affect my device, if I just backup, not restore? Does it need root? Sorry I just wanted to know
Also, I looked on the fourms but could not find anything with my search. Please tell me if something like this exists Also, I already saw http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587607, but that did not answer my question. (Srry I am new the the fourms so....)

What phone are you using now, you phone already flashed CWM or not?
CWM is a recevory mode that you can flash a custom rom , backup your base/stock rom/data/system and etc. It use for restore back into before u flash a custom rom,if there is any bug or problem or stuck after you flash a custom rom.
It like u can save/load before killing a boss in game

I have a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 (This model is Galaxy S WiFi, Model is YP-G70). I never flashed CWM, and am not rooted.
So I had a rooted Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 that I didn't have any backups for and I stupidly changed the DPI of the screen and rebooted the device and it started up in bootloop and I tried recovering it and nothing would work. So I finally settled on the wipe and factory reset, and now it starts up VERY SLOWLY, and the start of the set up for the device shows up but constantly I'm being bombarbed by TOUCHWIZUI has stopped working and 3 other things keep popping up saying they have stopped working. The touch screen barely works.
I have no idea what to do. I have no backups. I am not that familiar with android. I am downloading the stock firmware and am going to try to put it on with odin but I doubt it's going to work.
Can someone give me some advice on what to do? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Sincerely,
SalvelinuxFontinalix
BTW. The tab is the SM-T530NU Canadian (Wifi) version. The firmware I am downloading is the T530NUUEU1ANI1_T530NUXAC1ANI1...
Can I use ODIN to flash this firmware from my PC onto the device or will it be a huge problem if the tablet has been wiped and factory reset and is missing all sorts of information?
Your gonna need to flash the stock rom for the device.
Thank you for your guidance!

Thank you so much I did what you said. I found the stock rom and "flashed it" I got it back to exactly how it was when I got the tablet! I was unsure how to do it but I learned a bit on my own form the search feature of XDA. I found the stock rom out of a list of many different ones and I found the correct ROM for my country and area and flashed it on with ODIN using my PC and it rebooted and was brand new. I re-rooted it and decided not to alter the DPI of the screen. It's nice enough as is.
Thanks Again! Zelendel! You are a life safer! Oh and BTW...is using ODIN to transfer the stock ROM onto the device considered "flashing"? Or is there some other way people flash devices?
Thanks again I'm so thrilled I don't have a broken device haha. THANKS!!!
Sincerely,
SalvelinuxFontinalix

Yes it is. There are other ways with custom recoveries but that is only for custom rom flashs
