It worked with my Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 s8-301U and I have removed some bloatwares from the tab.
Now I wanted to remove a font folder and put a new one there, I don't know what is sopping me from doing that. Do you have any solution

yes I've tried it, but it got some problems. it's like having partial root not full root!!
I were able to get apps work such as titanium backup and I got full root on them. But on other apps such as exposed model, I were not able to get the full root access and therefore I couldn't install exposed models on my device. you can try it yourself, nothing breaks everything is working fine.

no try at all as I wasn't able to get recovery installed

I rooted my mediapad s8-310l an it's now bricked I can get in to fastboot when it's connected to my laptop but that's it no recovery nothing else it is stuck on the boot image. Can any 1 help unbrick this please if I can utilise fastboot to sort it I may have a chance other than that I'm out of luck.

i have bricked my m1s8 301L only minimal fastboot comands available, any ideas on how to restore. dload in sd card doesnt work, fastboot will flash recovery but allways sticks on the boot splash screen......

Did you fix it?
If not try downloading the latest firmware update
on your PC to make sure its complete and try again.
The latest firmware wipes everything, so if your PC can see
Your data try adb pull .....directories..... first.

How to root MT6572, ZTE/Telstra Tempo T815?

Could you please help my journey for rooting my ZTE?
Background story:
I bought this cheap phone on a whim when my Nokia Lumia 520's ear speaker stopped working. It's a great phone, but due to its small 4GB storage (even less user available), I can't store all the apps n stuff I need on it, so I'm carrying around two phones everywhere. I mainly want root so I can store apps on my SD card.
I can't find any root guides, and I've tried most common one click root solutions, and apk solutions.
I'm new to non one click root, but want to learn more about development, and have to start somewhere! There is basically nil development for this phone, and that's why I need your help.
From all the research I've done, it looks like I need to somehow get the stock rom or boot image, to modify the kernel to allow easy root access.

Search if there are custom recoveries available for ur MT6572 phone (use Google and XDA to search).
If any one of these seem to boot up, just install Super Su zip from that recovery.
As far as I have searched, It seems no one created a custom recovery for your phone

Thanks, but CWM seems to be the only recovery compatible, unless I've missed something.

If CWM is working, download this to your SD card: http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
Boot info CWM recovery.
Then choose 'Install Zip' option. Then select 'From SD Card '
Browse and select the SuperSu zip file which you downloaded.
That's all!!

Yeah, don't seem to be able install CWM without root. All the guides I've found are kinda contradictory, saying install CWM to get root, and the say you need stock rom backup or root to install, of which I can't get either.
If you can find a way to install CWM without root I'd be extremely grateful

Enable USB debugging in phone.
Install your phone drivers and ADB drivers in your computer.
Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot software in your PC (Google it)
Connect phone to PC, open Minimal ADB shortcut in desktop, type this command:

adb reboot bootloader
Now flash or boot up the CWM recovery.img for your phone from here by using command like:

Now just install SuperSu from there in recovery.

I would think Cyanogen would be the best way to root your phone. Inuse to use it when I have my Droid Razr but I dont like them as much on my Note.

without adb it,s really hard to root.
first of all wile powering up your phone press vol down or up one of them will take you to fastboot mode then in pc instad of adb device,s type fastboot devices if it wotks then we can proceed.
if not then try rooting apps like framaroot or z4root

Adb was working, but not now.
Framaroot and z4root both don't with, haven't tried every modstring combo on towelroot, recommend ones haven't worked.
Anyway, doing something else for now, will come back to it later.

reboot into recovery dosen,t matter if it,s stock.
select clear data or factory reset or clear cache and data like thing.
if did,t found then go to setting find factory reset. it might also do the job if zte set it to use recovery.

Renewing an old thread
I'm not sure if anyone has had any success rooting the ZTE T815 Tempo at all, but I am on a mission. If and when I find a way to root this phone so that I can make sure apps install to an SD card and not internal or 'phone' memory, I will post a walkthrough. I've had this phone for a week (as I inadvertently destroyed access to Google apps ; mail etc etc on my other cheapie) and discovered that with its limited storage and ignorance of installed D cards, that I can't install the most basic of apps that I use all the time because the Google bloatware and install restrictions on other apps chew up ALL of the internal storage. I've managed to do a basic hack through ADM to allow some apps to be moved to the 'phone' storage, but still, the majority of apps require root access to move them. I am angry, and motivated. Watch this space. If I brick it, I'll let you know.

I'm working on a step-by-step written guide, but the toolkit will guide you through the steps to root as well. The toolkit does support the 2.2.1 update. :good:

Unlocking the bootloader WILL erase all data. I don't know if you could achieve root without a custom recovery but if you plan to flash a custom recovery you will need to unlock the bootloader.

While this tool worked for me, it didn't work well with step 2. It did flash the recovery but I had to manually reboot to recovery for it to work. Selecting yes/next to reboot to recovery after flashing it through the tool only took me to fastboot. That was the only thing I noticed but other than that, everything else worked perfectly. For clarification as well, I did it on newest firmware available right now (2.2.1).

The reboot option after the recovery flash is supposed to reboot you back to Android because the next step in the toolkit is to push SuperSU, which requires ADB.

Well in my case, it didn't do that either, mine ended up in fastboot. In any case it everything works as it should. thanks!

Worked flawless.
After flashing TWRP where it asks to reboot, it does reboot the tablet but the program seems to get stuck on "Rebooting......" even after the tablet have booted.
I tried waiting a min to see if it changed but I had to remove and attach the USB again before it realized it was connected and said "Move to step 3".
I'm happy though because anything that can be done smoother than ADB (even though it is really easy) is appreciated.

Wow, this looks super useful and easy. I was just thinking of rooting my shield again cause I'm sick of adds and just dropped in to see how things were progressing on the development side.

Edit: This is awesome! I was contemplating rooting my 2nd shield (after my first one blew up after 5 days) and have been putting it off for a while.
I'm used to rooting n'stuff so I don't find it to difficult but this just made things so much easier! I had it unlocked and rooted in a couple of minutes.

Ensure you have installed the drivers.

And don't forget to use an USB 2.0 port! USB 3.0 ports generally do not work.

Thank you for this! It looks like an amazing tool, just what I was looking for. I had a Kindle Fire HD and it was a hell lot of trouble to install TWRP and flash roms, and when I saw my brand new shield had a hell of a process to get rooted in Lollipop the Kindle nightmare just flashed before my eyes (I had bricked it once so my heart practically stops every time an android device of mine reboots, in fear it won't turn on again). It's such a relief to see everything automated.
If you read what I had written there before (some questions about how to use the toolkit) never mind me, I found the instructions

i can't get this to work, it keeps saying OFFLINE. i installed everything it requested when I opened the .exe

Unlocked bootloader.
Installed Twrp.
But when i go to recovery mode on my lg watch r it STILL boots to the stock recovery???
Am i doing something wrong?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy XCover 3 (SM-G388F)

This is the first phone I've purchased without it's own seperate section on XDA. As I'm no developer, I've always simply jumped on XDA, found the appropriate root/custom boot recovery/ROM development threads, but it doesn't seem like there's any info our there for this phone. Google searches only returned spam/malware/fake root methods.
I understand not being a developer, I have no right to expect others to create roms/develop anything for this phone.... but is there a general way to at least attain root access for Android phones?

its just a spammy link to a packed SU archive, not the promised files needed for cf autoroot
most probably chainfire method will work, i already asked for it
need some patience here

for me the same, i Need the root for changing the non working sap Profile ....
sap Profile out of the box was the Point why i purchased the phone ...
I already spoke to the Samsung Support, they tell ist the fault of vw ...

I used this guide and it worked for me. Used the Odin method.
The guide for Odin is not that accurate, amoungst other things it tells you to use the "AP" to load the image you downloaded. In my Odin i used the "PDA". Also the setup guide for disabling "Re-partition" and "PIT table" is not correct.
But if you are used to using Odin, you will figure it out. Anyway, it worked for me.
Follow the link at the bottom and download the Super SU, before rooting. This saves you a reboot.

Not working with Lollipop?
Hi guys,
I successfully used the method above to root the phone when it was on Android 4.4.
Now I updated to 5.1.1 and the method doesn't seem to be working anymore.
After I flash TWRP with Odin and (immediatly) try to boot into recovery I get the message: "recovery is not seandroid enforcing", and nothing else happens.
Any ideas? I didn't find anything with google or here on xda and there doesn't seem to be any newer version of TWRP than 2.8.7.0-xcover3ltexx.img.
I'd be grateful for any help!

So if I'll update to lp I'll loose rooting & twrp.. Bad indeed... I'm very tempted to buy this phone after my xcover 2 breaks down but with zero roms I think I'll wait some other time... Thanks for any info!

Hi, I have huge problem with my xcover3, I tried to flash a rom from sammobile, but it was wrong region I suppose, and the odin procedure failed and ended up messing with the bootloader, the device doesn't start at all, no logo no recovery, no download mode, nothing, it only just vibrates when I press any key combination, which means it's not completely dead.
What should I do? I think the only way to fix this is to boot somehow from microSD card, is there any way to do that, or anything else I can do, I even tried the usb jig and same result.

Odin showed "PASS" and I was supposed to press certain buttons which didn't work. Phone kept coming back to "Download Mode" although I pressed those buttons. So I was stuck. The only option was to cancel the download mode, so I pressed volume down + power button for more than 7 seconds. That was the end Now the phone turns on until I see the Samsung logo, there's a small vibration but it can't go forward. It resets back and now stuck in a loop. None of the buttons work including Volume Down+Power combination. Don't know what I am supposed to do now. Can anybody help?

Thanks but how can I do that? Phone doesn't turn on, so PC cannot recognise...

As I can see you are proud owner of a softbricked phone.
Take it to authorized service center and let them fix it.

I plan to let it die on battery and will try to see if I can turn on "Download Mode" after recharging. Do you think it may work?

it wouldn't ... usually the cause of bootloop is certain corrupted partition and as long as that partition is corrupted it would keep bootlooping.
if you doesn't know what your doing your best bet is Take it to authorized service center and let them fix it. like what @jwoubeir said

I don't have the A11 model but have used this on other A models that were in the same loop.
Press the volume up and down at the sametime and plug in the usb cable.
This has to be done within a second or two after it vibrates and before it reboots and will likely take a few tries. Good Luck

great tip work on ADB too anyway OP is provably using sp flashtool since his phone is samsung so this method would be rather tricky

Yayy, I managed to get into the "Download mode" doing exactly how @sammiev told and I tried flashing another TRWP file thinking that might have caused the problem but nothing has changed. Same loop again ! So I flashed the original ROM back using Odin and it's back live again Thanks for the help guys. But to be honest, I am still curious. What might be the problem in not getting TRWP flashing going right?

Used that method of a few peoples Samsung phones. Worked for me every time. It's just to get the timing right.
Sure you have the correct TWRP?

I tried again from scratch with a new TRWP file and the result is the same. Odin shows "PASS" but the "Download Mode" screen gives the error as in the photo:

The version I used is "twrp-3.5.0_10-3_afaneh92-a11q.tar"
I also tried rooting with Magisk without the need of TRWP installation. That was also unsuccesfull. Odin was PASS but I got bootloader screen saying Secure Check Fail : vbmeta

Was there other TWRP files for this model?
Is other people having trouble with this model?
I never worked on A11 Samsung yet

Following your advice, I managed to get into the Download Mode and I flashed the original rom. So phone is up and running now but not rooted. So I've been trying to root again first with Magisk to bypass the need of TRWP installation and with others which need TRWP installation first. There seems to be something blocking the flashing of anything other than the original rom !! On the link I shared above, there are other (older version) TRWP files. Shall I try them?

Usually the latest TWRP with the latest firmware.

Check my profile, your KG stated is ****ed. There is nothing you can do about it, there is abosulutly no way to fix this without unsoldering the eMMC and resetting it entirely. Some people on 4PDA had the same problem and found no fix. I was hopping to develop a custom rom but I cant as my kg state is prenormal. This mexican dude on youtube fixes devices with KG and FRP issues, but yeah this aint something that you can do at home. edit: nvm your oem is unlocked, you can just flash the vbmeta reset script via odia and everything should flash fine.
