my phone is ZTE V6500 = ZTE nova 3.5= etisalat smartphone
thank you all
I have installed cyanogenmod 11 on my galaxy mini GT-s5570. When I type free in terminal it already shows a swap of 47mb on device.
in terminal windows show initially
swap: 49148(total) 44244(used) 4904(free)
How can I expand it ? because 47mb swap file is very low amount.I have 8gb class 4 micro sd card.
Swap file created by swapper for root can't work.
Thanks in advance

Which version of CM11 do you use? Did you manually set swap or do you mean preconfigured? You can change the value with Performance Controls.
BUT keep in mind that your phone has 384MB of physical ram (Usable value will be even slower - i suppose ~ 300MB) --> swap ram is very slow, especially if you got a class 4 sd card.I have no clue about the used kernel, but zRam must be supported by the kernel. If the kernel does you can get a class10+ sd card and manually set a swap partitions. Any values >100MB will probably slow down your device instead of speding it up

I have downloaded and installed ROM from following link
http://d-h.st/XeT
kernel version is [email protected]#1
and the swap ram amount is preconfigured.
Previously I installed cm10.1 RC-5 stable dev ROM. On that I used swappe for root and using this I had created swap file of 820mb on class 4 8 gb sd card and it worked fine.

I'll install the app just for fun on a low ram device to check the performance. May be I'm kinda dumb and it runs great^^
--> FAILED lol i can't even select internal or external sd card. As the internal free space is too small i can't even try it. Awesome app
Hello just found out today we can actually swap our sd memory with internal memory. Am using Android Andi 12.1 rom, and apparently I require a kernel which will support this. Can anyone recommend a kernel which supports this please?
hello
I am not really satisfied with RAM capacity my GT P3110 has, and I'd like to expand it. I am currently running latest Cyanogenmod (12.1) and I tried using link2sd and swapper apps to get RAM from my SD card, but every time I tried that, it said that my kernel does not support that function. I am wondering, which kernel do I have to use? and is it possible to swap SD card memory for RAM memory with stock rom/android or does it have to be one of the custom builds?
thanks in advance

How to make it work with slimkat 4.4.4, i like the stable custom rom that support swap, do you know one sir?
hi frds,
i am having a problem with my phone samsung gts 8500 (wave 1) badadroid omni installed.
i had installed ram expander in my phone and swaped it with 2gb sd card, it went sucessfully.
after some days i delete the swap file from my sd card , but when i checked the swap memory through terminal emulator it was not zero.
i wanna know the solution to make it zero. and swap again with 16 gb sd card plz help
thanks in advance.
Iam not a expert, but if you did not use the app that created the swap file to remove it. It would probably make another. Also not all swap files are a fixed size. You might sit it to 2 gig but that might just be the max size it can grow too. Hope that helps
clear data and catch of that app and make a new one in 16 gb external card
