i think an update is comming up to honor devices which enables call recording. check emui fb page.
try Drupe
I'm using an app called Drupe (phone dialer) and it works fine recording calls.
I'm stock in as much as not rooted (yet) bootloader still locked etc.

i checked my stock dialer and it also has recording icon which is greyed out until a call connects, then i can press and the call is recorded.
I'm running emui v4.1 with nova launcher taking care of the desktop.
Don't know if it makes any difference, my model is FRD-AL10, sourced from etotalk in china, but i recall they mention putting a custom rom on the phone as the chinese version would've been unsuitable for use in uk.
they also say they root phone where possible but i'm pretty sure my phone is not rooted, BL unlocked . . .

well thats a clue, it would be nice if someone port call recording from it.
The chinese Version brings call recorder in stock-rom.
honor 5x(kiw l22) also didnt have call recorder out of the box, bt honor recently pushed an update which enables call recording, hope they does the same with honor 8

many honor system apps has this same problem, its better waiting for official ota for call recording.
Just download one from the play store, I recommende ACR
Call recorders from play store don't work for me, maybe because I use the smart power management.

I'm sorry to say your app doesn't work on the n9005 (kitkat).
I tested the root and non root and playing back the file just give noise feedback (root version did ask for permission after first call made)
Files were found where you mentioned them
I have tested non rooted version and working fine. Btw On non rooted version file saves in Voice folder not sound
Edit : sorry, I have tested on N9005 was having 4.3 not 4.4. Sorry .

You can disable auto record if you want .
So many people prefer to archive their calls completely in some storage or cloud ..

Guys I don't have access of N9005 kitkat, if anyone want to test here I have applied different variable for incoming and out going. test both incoming and outgoing on each application (9005-1 and 9005-2) if anything records correctly, let me know.
Note : after installation once click on app icon (it won't popup or react) after that just initiate call and recorded file will be on IntSD/Voice folder

I have tested QQi on a LG G3 (running Lollipop), it worked perfectly without any FCs (QQi version V5.0.10.6046), you may try to upgrate to this version.
Did tried version 5.0.10 (not sure about the build number) from Play Store, but whenever I swipe pages ex. from chat to list, I got a black page for min. 30-40 seconds, sometimes the app even freeze and I need to kill the app via task manager. I am on HTC M8 with Venom Rom.

It seems there is no lag or freeze in my situation. My G3 is running on a stock rom. I guess your Venom Rom may cause this problem.

QQi FC on my lollipop device too……This is a bad suggestion but, try the Chinese version 5.4.1. 【It's Chinese……】 but at least it works and seems to have more functions than the international version.

You can root, install original recorder and unroot.

HWCallRecorder not working on P20 EML-L09 8.1.0.168 (C432)
Unlocked boot loader (costs 55USD nowadays), installed TWRP rcovery and root explorer, changed file permissions for HwCallRecorder directory and files.
when I try to install the .apk from root explorer is says installation failed.
Any ideas?

You don't install the .apk you just have to place the folder containing the .apk and other files in system/app and set the permissions as rwx r-x r-x for folders, and rw- r-- r-- for files. Then reboot and the call recorder option appears in the settings menu in the dialler

Yes, it works for me via magisk module.
The pie update for our beloved Mi A1 was released one day after the beta version did. Currently the places where we can get the OTA update are : Netherlands and also Austria (As far as i know) if you are in one of these countries try to update it without making any of these steps !
Note : This isn't the beta update is the official OTA Pie update !
Steps:
1. Remove your SIM card
2. Go to settings and clear : Google App, Google Framework, Google Play Services, Location Service
3. Reboot
4. Open vpn with country Netherlands/ Austria (VPN doesn't matter as long as its a VPN)
5. Go to update and check it
PS. If it doesn't work try it 2 or 3 times the procedure

Try setting the VPN to USA, that worked for me, just keep in mind the possibility of losing LTE

Is this a fastboot or miflash zip?
Updated using the VPN method, used Windscribe VPN, everything works great, first bootup was longer. LTE works (Czech Republic)

Hi I've recently flashed Indonesia ROM, it has MIUI dialer but the call recording option is missing. Is there any solution to unlock it?
I cant install Xiaomi.eu I need locked bootloader after all.

Yeah, but I need bank app which is not passing check because of unlocked bootloader and AFAIK you can't lock it on Xiaomi.eu. It's a shame
I did a fastboot full procedure.

Bank app pass,undetectable unlock.
And it's strange that the call recorder does not work, have you activated it?

It's an app for taking payments with NFC - eTerminal. I think it has better security.
There is no option for activating it, tried every Taiwan and Indonesian rom.
Looks like it's a problem with Xiaomi 12 :/

I use a Xiaomi eu rom on my 12 pro with my 3 d secure banking app + fingerprint with another Nfc payment app as well as other apps that detect root or unlocking without any problem.
normally open the dialer / settings / call recording but maybe Xiaomi deleted it.

Yes it looks like they've deleted it in Xiaomi 12 series as it is not appearing at all.
WTF I've flashed Indonesia ROM one more time and recording is available but only BEFORE I connect phone to the internet! Looks like location checking

Not sure if this is the cause since you have to login to activate the account at startup.

Yes it is. I've checked many times. You don't have to login immediately. Just pull out sim tray and don't connect to wifi. Voila

Since my phone was brand new I've never attached Mi Account. I think it's quite possible to unattach Mi account before factory reset, and Google account too because it will ask about previous account.
