[Completed] Alcatel Ideal unlocking Boot loader. Is it ok to follow info on the Idol 3, etc? - XDA Assist

So I dropped and broke my iphone friday after using it in construction for the past 3 years. Pretty good run. So I picked up the Alcatel 4060a (IDEAL) from walmart in the interim since it was a fairly cheap replacement. I have go to say I like the idea of rooting and doing things with a phone that the carrier doesn't want me to. I'm new to this whole thing and basically my goal is to put an unbranded version of android on my phone. It sounds easy but It seems as though its more complicated than it sounds. My guess is the first course of action is to unlock the bootloader. I guess what I am asking is how does one do something catered to a particular phone?

[Completed] samsung galaxy s4 help

Hi guys
Not sure where to start so I'll get straight to the point. Last week we found out our step-dad has been cheating on our mom she caught him with a second phone and in a drunken rage he threw it at her and stormed out the house saying good luck getting in.
So we have the phone and its undamaged but has a swipe pattern lock on it, is there anyway we can access it so we can get a lawyer to build a case for us?
I realise that this raises certain moral and ethical dilemmas but we are at our wits end trying to get rid of him.
Thanks

[Completed] Best phones for modding, need some advice please

I'm finally looking to upgrade my phone from the Verizon SGS4. I'd like to stick to Samsung, though I know they've really locked their devices down since I setup my SGS4. I'd appreciate any advice from you pros, or if you can point me to some in depth guides if they relate to my question.
My question is, what phones are best for rooting and customization now? I like to keep my device as stripped down as possible.
My priorities are:
No bloatware/malware
ability to only load the few apps I need
security
battery life
processing speed
Thanks for your time!

[Completed] I want to upgrade my phone software, but do not understand this site.

I recently was given an Android watch as a present. My phone is a Casio Commando 4G. I know it is several years old, but I really like the phone. I heard it was possible to upgrade your phone with a custom rom. I need to upgrade it to Android 4.3, thought if were possible to run Marshmallow, I would like to consider it. I do not know if my phone can handle any of this, and I'm fairly new to this sort of thing, so I may sound quite adorable in a negative sense. I do plan on buying the Cat S60, so I am just trying to squeeze life out of my phone until then. Any advice on roms will help! Thank you.

[Completed] Is it possible to track a GPS-enabled phone without the internet?

I am planning to give my phone to my little sister. The thing is, we want to keep track of her. In my own theory, there is an "Identification" of the GPS, or something? Am I wrong?
With that, can I have my phone be "tracked" using a certain app? That is, before I give it to her, I have to set this thing up so we could get track of her.
If SIM card is also a possible method, the phone has it.
This might be breaking her privacy, but we just care about her much. Please respond! Thanks!

[Completed] My phone is a fortress

I have the 2015 AT&T Kyocera hydro air that I've had for some time now. I was trying so sell the phone to someone and didn't really think anything was happening. Well, to my surprise after he left, I realized he had put a pattern lock on the phone, he also put on a pin lock and disconnected my email from the phone so I couldn't unlock it with email. I tried doing a hard reset but at&t has the hard reset protection thing so now in out of ideas, I tried all the cutesy was to get in but no luck. This person locked it up tighter then fort Knox. Is there anything I can do beside trashing it?
