My S7 Was Unroot but I don't know why - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I had root my S7 on 8/5,following the steps on TWRP webpage.
Yesterday I tried to update my TWRP to 3.0.2-3 via Flashify, and found out I have already lost my root(but I have no idea why).I'm wonder is it fine to follow the steps on TWRP again to get my root back again?(I can still enter the TWRP 3.0.2-2,which I flashed nearly a month ago)
Thanks for the answer.

Same thing happen to me when i flash different kernels.

Do you allow the security updates? If so, they will remove root and it might be difficult to get root again. You will have to disable a certain security update (don't know which one)

Root and security question

If you lose your phone or it gets stolen;
With rooted phone, a person can install a new rom and use it right?
W/out root, your phone can be bricked permanently if someone tries to factory reset? Via google or samsung account. Also, you can't use odin to install any ROMs?
Or has the security on the newest android phones like s7 now have better security even when a phone is rooted?
I'm on a verge of trying to decide if I should root my S7 or not.

1. He can either way wipe data. Root or no root. The question is can he skip the factory reset protection. There are ways to skip it. But this again has nothing to do with root on the phone.
2. There is currently no permanent brick. There are blog posts which suggests something like this would come in new android versions.

Downgrade from NDE63X to NDE63P on verizon google pixel.

My knowledge on all this phone rooting and stuff is quite minimal, infact I haven't done any of this since around 3 years ago when I rooted my S5, but I just upgraded to the google pixel today and I REALLY want root, sad thing is I'm with verizon. Anyways, I upgraded my phone's OTA while in the store, being stupid and all, and when I got home, I began my search for rooting. I unlocked the bootloader, and flashed the superSU image boot-to-root.img, but got stuck in a bootloop. I followed someones instructions on sideloading the NDE3DX image, and got back into my phone. SuperSU is installed, but no root. I tride the boot-to-root.img thing again, and got stuck again on the dots thing... I fixed it yet again with sideloading, however I discovered from others that NDE3DX simply wont root, and that you must downgrade to NDE3DP...
I went ahead and downloaded the NDE3DP file from: https://developers.google.com/android/images, but I'm a bit nervous with continue to flash it since i have the verizon version of the pixel (not the XL either), and on the download page, it only shows verizon in parenthesis for the NDE3DX version... Would someone PLEASE help me on how to downgrade this (if possible) and obtain root on this phone? Thanks so much!
No need to downgrade... Go to the twrp thread and follow the guide there... After you follow that guide, then you can flash root... Really easy to do my friend

Rooting ideas for Verizon SGS6

Since there is still no root method above 5.1.1, perhaps I should make a thread for ideas on rooting the Samsung Galaxy S6 6.0.2 and higher
I was thinking of editing default.prop in the ramdisk so I can gain root access since this is what I am hearing.
ro.secure is like root without the need of ADB
ro.debugging is root but you need ADB.
And then attempt to install su and superuser
I've seen someone on 6.0.2 on root checker saying they have root their S6 but it was hard to get root. So I am guessing he edited default.prop in the ramdisk.
That's all I am thinking, might think wrong or stuck in the past, but what do you guys think on what might get root access? I actually need ideas on what can get root access to the S6

This guy you've heard has root on 6.0.2 is on the G920V right, also seems interesting, do you think you could link this image, or original posting or whatever?
If Root Checker has an option to contact the person that rooted 6.0.2, I would do it, but I can't. That's why I made the "Rooting Ideas"
Also, I have the feeling that since PC2 can be downgraded to OK7, it might have the same bootloader. So technically were not far from root for marshmallow.
You can check in root checker. Cause that's were I found someone that rooted the verizon S6

Ok, after I flash again (FLASHFIRE WORKS!, too bad it is pretty much useless now..., may have soft bricked it again XD) Working with Rooted 5.1.1, and it is quite crap... the battery life is maybe 3 hours max, and everything is SLOW!
THINGS I'VE TRIED:
Flashing 5.0.2 via Flashfire - FAIL
Flashing 5.0.2 via Flashfire, then flashing custom sboot - FAIL
SuperSU-MEing Kingroot in 5.1.1 - Kind of....*
Flashing PC2 Firmware (MM), With Everroot Enabled FAIL**
THINGS I NEED TO TRY:
Flashing Custom SU (or Custom VZW S7 SU) via FlashFire
Waiting For ROMS for the Eng-Kernal....
That Is All The Info I Have
*SuperSU works, but bootloops on reboot...
**Stuck at Screen BEFORE BOOT LOGO
(Where is says Powered By Android at the bottom)

It could work though
Since the verizon S7 users are in the same boat as us
I really hate lollipop. Its soooooooooo slooooooooowwwwww. So I want to see if we can try to get the S7 SU binary asap before my phone gets more slower :crying:
Tried to root 6.0.2 with Easy One-Click tool on the forum for tests and giggles. Gave me a bootloop.

Rooting a Xperia 6616

There aren't many new topics on this model so here we go,
My z3 stock came with 5.0.1 and as far as i know never (the 6616) had the 4.4 as an option. SO downgrading didn't work, so i'm stuck trying to root this with 5.0.1 and after two days of browsing this site there really doesn't seem to be a way to do so. Eventually i said $%#* it and rooted it using kingroot but after rooting it, root checker passed the root but would not give proper access when installing root apps such as busybox and the ta backup tool.
So i didn't realize that the keys ive been trying to save are useless anyways if i update android and the main reason for me going through this is i really don't like 5.0.1. Only thing i haven't really looked into doing is seeing if kingroot will let me unlock the bootloader then trying to flash an update. SO has anyone successfully updated a 6616 z3 (to 6) who didn't start off with 4.4?

[N00b] Rooting my S8+

Hello everybody!
I'm new on this stuff of rooting my s8+ Phone (SM-G955FD-Exinos), actually i can get the root, installin magisk and that sfuff, everything is ok, but when i restar my Phone, got a bootloop, the phone says "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed ", well after that and 2 days with my phone dead, i finally can install the Official rom from Samsung and bring my phone alive, obiously without Root
I was searching about, and that happen because my Firmware is the latest update from samsung, the G955FXXU4CRK1, so its the 4 Binary, i found that i just can get root in the Binary 1 but when i try to flash that binary, Odin Says i have the binary 4 and cant instal the 1 Binary.
So, i just want to know, if i can get root for my firmware and after root the phone i can restart it witouth get a bootloop, of maybe i can Downgrade my Firmware to 7.0 and get fully root there?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.,
