If you used the elemental x kernel you can choose to swipe acroos the nav bar. There is also a mod in the sense toolbox (xposed module) to use hold the back button when on the homescreen to go to sleep.

If you have something like nova launcher you can use the above program to sleep your phone using knock or swipe gestures. There is also an exposed module with swipe gesture shortcuts to turn off your phone. It's sense 6 or gravitybox I can't remember. I use insertcoins tap time to sleep since I like BlinkFeed launcher and xposed seems to marginally slow down the UI

I don't notice Nova launcher has this function Before known this trick I'm using nova now migrate To it .Tqvm
Thanks for the tip! I already had this app, but did not know you can swipe up from the homescreen to lock. I relied on the widget, but its much easier to swipe up on any screen
I was just talking to my friend about this the other day since we both had galaxy s3s and the power buttons broke around the same time. Thanks for the heads up

Thank you for this! I never use Google Now myself so this is the perfect solution for me as I wanted a way to swipe to lock the phone.
Hi guys you all are welcome. We are here sharing and learning. ?
Great thnx for sharing. Been using the HTC gesture listener but the three finger thing was quite cumbersome to use. this one seems far better
Nice app! I've noticed that you can now double tap to unlock even if you didn't pick up the phone first and it's already in your hand. Also if the phone is sitting on your desk you don't have to pick it up to unlock anymore......just double tap. Very nice indeed.

[Q] Any module to expand notification panel from the middle of the screen?

Hi guys...
Is there any module or app who would allow me to expand the notification panel by sliding down from the middle of the screen? Sometimes it's difficult to reach the top of the screen mostly when I'm typing with one hand.
I know some of you would say to me to install a custom launcher. But I'm actually using a custom launcher that does not support this feature by itself. And despite of it I like this launcher very much... Not willing to change that.
So I want to be able to bypass my launchers "lack of gesture" support... If there is any way that any of you guys know I would be glad if you share. Thanks

Hmm. I don't know of any such "app" or module for this, but this can fix your problems:
Install GravityBox (KK) > Reboot > Set a custom key in the navigation bar > Set it's function to open Notifications Panel.
This doesn't let you "swipe down" from the screen, but atleast you can get to the notifications without having to reach out to the top.

Use substratum mods to put navbar DPI on 0, and install Home bar gestures from play strore.

Hi I tried that's not a bad idea thanks, but I would like to have the multitasking from iPhone gestures it's more naturally
I'm too disappointed where the fingerprint scanner is seated on the Galaxy S8+, it could be placed somewhere else but not adjacent to the rear camera. Hopefully, Now galaxy S9 is not repeating this trend.
Here you go still in beta and not available for "everyone" but works great and with more fonction

all in one gestures:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures&hl=en
I use Edge Gestures from the play store (not free) since it has more independent control over what I can do with the gestures. It does require a bit of time to get the right settings and gesture control, but once you get past that, it becomes way better than having the navigation bar.
Try "X Home Bar" from playstore .. use 0pt.navbar.apk to hide navbar ..
Use 1. Swipe up for Home 2. Swipe left, right for back
3. Double tap on home screen (nova launcher) for recent apps

But works on oreo?
I havent tried this on Oreo .. still waiting for S8+ oreo update here in Australia ..
this one is best.remove navbar and happy with Swipe navigation

I am on S8+ Oreo unrooted. The 0dp Nav does not work on Oreo. I have the immersive mode via adb and a Substratum Samsung System Mod app to completely remove the nav bars, they will not show with swipe up - gone. I use Edge Gestures for full control of swipe actions. Works great on Oreo. Try it out. All on Google Play.

One-Button Navigation gone??

Just upgraded from the Moto One Action to the G Stylus, definite upgrade for sure.
One thing that concerns me is that they appear to have removed the One-Button Navigation option for 3rd party launchers, I know 3rd party launchers as a default in Android 10 don't integrate with the gesture navigation as of yet and default to the 3-button option.
The Moto One Action runs Android 10 but had that Moto one-button option, is it hidden or just gone on this newer model?
I'm using the one button/gesture system navigation with the included launcher on the stylus. Worked out of the box. There's a setting under settings, system, gestures, system navigation to enable it.

Again, fully aware that with a stock launcher the default Android 10 one-button nav works fine, I am speaking specifically about the Moto Gestures that allowed their version of one-button nav on Android 10.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about using the included launcher with system navigation gestures on the Stylus since you mentioned the lack of gesture system navigation with a 3rd party launcher. I don't have a Moto One Action so I guess I'm unclear about what referring to. I don't have a Moto Gestures app on my Stylus. I do have a Moto Actions app that includes touch screen & accelerator gestures such as chopping to toggle the flash(light), three finger screenshot, swipe to shrink, etc. Perhaps that's what you're looking for.
Hopefully Google keeps their promise and enables gesture system navigation soon. Then we'll see how long Motorola takes to release an update.

All good, no worries. These features are also on the G7, X4 and the Moto One series, if it was a specific thing to one model I wouldn't even be questioning why those chose to remove actual helpful functions. There's no technical reason for not having them on the newer model(s).

it's not a thing on Android 10-launched Motos, they removed it in favor of Google's gesture navigation

Hi, The issue with the Android 10 Google One Button Navigation is that in the Google version, the longer bar, the back page feature which worked well in the Moto G, shorter bar, does not work in Googles bar.
One example is if you are using the Amazon Shopping app and selected a product to view, you cannot swipe left in the long Google bar to return to the menu as you can do with the shorter Moto G bar. You need to return to the Amazon Home page and then start the search from the beginning again.
This error also occurs within other apps when wanting to swipe left to return to a previous page.
When selecting the longer Google Bar in the Moto G8, the same problem occurs when navigating within an app. Fortunately the Moto G8 affords the option of choosing the Moto G shorter Navigation Bar.
If you swipe left in the longer Google bar, it goes back to the previous screen of the previous app.
Please can someone suggest how to get the shorter Moto G bar back again? We have Moto G7, G8 and G9 phones, the G7 and G8 still have the shorter Moto G bar, the Moto G9 does not have the option to select it in the Navigation settings and we really don't want to go back to the three button navigation. Thank you.

Can someone raise this with the Motorola team? I just returned my Moto G 5G phone because of stupid the android 10 system longer bar navigation. I really wanted Motorola's own one shorter bar nav!!!!
I've been debating this phone vs the g power for more storage, but it seems like the g power has more root support for it and more hacking in general that has been done for it? Anyone that can give me some feedback here? I was hoping there'd be a lot more options for custom ROMs or am I missing something?
To force one button navigation with a 3rd party launcher use adb and enter:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural
(to disable: just change "enable" to "disable")

to go back with Google's gesture navigation, you swipe in from either edge of the screen
@tendiez01 - Thank you for that "swipe in from either edge of the screen" suggestion, it works perfectly.

[SOLVED] Double Tap to Wake ? (and other question (before maybe buy))...

Hi,
Have this phone (exactly "Moto G Pro"):
1. Double Tap to Wake (native) ?
2. work fine on it "XDA Navigation Gestures" ?
3a. is possible (while phone sleep) using FingerPrint for PowerOn and direct to home? (i plane using NovaLauncher)
3b. swiping (while phone is on) over FingerPrint show Notifications?
4. Have any type of "AmbientDisplay"? i mean, phone sleep on desk, i pick up it (without pres key, lcd, fingerprint) and for some sec is show time, notification icons, "etc"...
BTW: actualy i have Nokia 7 Plus, but after some update, lost AmbientDisplay, after replace broken LCD lost DoubleTabToWake and Proximity sensor is always on (while incoming&outgoing call is always black lcd and if need interaction must disable sensor before call)... Then i try find good replacement with AndroidOne(on market with A10), FingerPrint on back, DoubleTapToWake and nice to have stereo speaker, and "Moto G Pro" look as one of fev with stylus (although not "digitizer/wacom" but "only" capacitive) as nice bonus
Thanks
nobody have "Moto G Pro" ?
I know it has something similar to your ambient display question although Motorola calls it something different. I use it. When you pick up your phone or it knows your looking at it, it will display date, notification, etc. I don't think double tap to wake is supported natively.
@bigrooster88 thanks, i finally buy "Moto G Pro" and to me #0 question:
1 - practically yes in Settings/Display/PeekDisplay/Settings/TapToWake - this for one tap show PeekDisplay, with second tap&move switch do home/last_app, then for my use is same as dt2w
2 - XDA Navigation Gestures work like a charm
3a - yes FP (if not locked) go direct to home/last_app
3b - swiping over FP can be enabled to pulldown notification bar
4 - similar as AmbientDisplay[Nokia] have Motorola PeekDisplay and is better...
then i am satisfied
Yes I like peek display
