Galaxy s6 Wakelock in Safemode ( USB port not working ) - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 G920F with stock rom. A couple of days back I did a factory reset from recovery in order to make it run smooth again since it was filled with bloatware and such after 6months of use.
All good until I saw a huge drop of battery with Android OS showing in everything ( stock battery consumption , gsam battery, betterbatterystats etc.) The problem is that I cannot use Wakelock Detector because my phone USB suddenly stopped working....(capacitive buttons and the headphone jack work with no problem) I don't have warranty on the phone.Guys from phone service in my town told me that if i want to change the charger band they have to remove the display and it's too much etc...( I use a wireless charger)
I tried 3 times to factory reset, clear cache daily, etc... nothing.
NOTE : Even in Safe Mode I have Android OS on top at battery consumption...
What I want to know is , if I can flash a stock rom without root/usb working.
Thanks !

[Q] Android OS battery drain issue or battery is about to die??

It has been 2 years I bought this phone.
Nexus S i9023 world wide edition (code name crespo)
Generally it gave 24 hours battery backup. But now it gives only 12 hours backup hardly!!.
I tried all roms like cyanogenmod, slim rom, AOKP and original too.
Screens are attached.
let me know if you have any idea.
let me know if you want more information.
I am on wifi only in office, otherwise wifi and data plan is off.
U get high android os on all rom ?
If bought the phone two years ago, its the battery for sure. After 24 months and several hundred charges its not going to last anywhere near as long as when you first got it

Android os is too high. Something is keeping your phone awake. I suggest greenify and hibernate all facebook, maps etc.. Also, some chat programs can be problematic if you dont use original hangout or google talk.
[SOLVED!!]
i have this problem with my galaxy grand phone ,the battery discharges in 20hr , default OS was 4.1.2 official samsung , i changed my rom into a slim custom rom based 4.2.2 , but the battery has same problem again , Android OS battery Usage Was 80% !!!! and screen usage just was 9% !
my installed software :
Viber
WeChat
MyKet {Like Android Market}
Weather Widget
i used wifi 1-2 hour in a day ,
=================================
[SOLVE]
first go to Settings -> Developer Options -> Apps Tab -> checked Don't keep activities
set brightness to auto
then go to location services -> off access my location
then go to wifi -> advanced Wi-Fi -> keep wi-fi on during sleep -> change to Never
now go to application manager -> Running Tab -> Force stop some apps with extra ram usage like settings
my phone just uses 5% battery in 13hr sleep mode ; ENJOY!

All I know is Android OS shouldn't consume 80% of battery when screen is off.
Wakelock detector app always giving me 80% awake and 20% deep sleep. and Phone was having kernel awake issue.
Two days ago I switched back to stock rom with no extra apps installed. and the issue was the same.
What I noticed that I turn of the CRT screen off option in Slimrom 4.2 build 8. and when I come back to stock rom, Obviously I did full format with bootloader, radio and recovery etc.. but CRT screen off was not working. What I guess is if we formatted /system /cache /data dalvik cache etc.. CRT off screen off should be reset and it should be turn on by default, as it was on when I purchased it!!!
So I guess there should be something like OEM unlock option which persist even you do full format. Some of the settings which is causing my kernel for keep awaking.
So I again planned to come back to Slim rom (As I noticed it is very active for my device). And the CRT screen option is working correctly now.
But my original problem of Android OS was still there. in 2 hours of screen off, kernel was awake for all the time, only 4 minutes of deep sleep.
I checked wakelock detector and saw mmc1_detect count as around >1800!!!!
I come back to XDA for solution and found that it could be for faulty SD card. Solution suggested is to go to setting -> storage -> unmount sd card and restart your phone or something (I don't remember actually). But since Nexus S has no external SD card, out of 16 GB, 1 GB is for phone internal and about 13 GB is for USB storage. But how can we unmount it??? Additionally even if I unmount, there is no use of smart phone, as photos and all important things are in SD card. I wasted 1 hour for finding an app that can toggle SD card mount/unmount but no success.
I noticed that my phone has some issue with charging point. It started after I used nexus 7 charger into it. On my laptop usb connection works good, but at my office I checked on 2 PCs but USB is not recognizing it. (Sometime works something don't). Another issue I faced a week ago was, when I removed charger, phone still showing charging!! My friend suggested me to mess with port. Use some small sharp stuff like knife to remove touching charging port with outer steel body, and it worked.
So I concluded there must be some issue with it. Today morning After fresh installation of slim rom with suggested step problem persist. But I didn't flashed gapps, just to test if there is an issue with any of the google apps. But then I installed gapps (only required and gmail and hangout)
all of sudden, issue resolved! 2% wake and 98% deep sleep in 7 hours!
Still I cannot determine what exactly caused an issue. If it is about charging point, all I know is I'll face this issue again, and as it is soldered to IC cheep, I definitely need to give it to professional repair.
As I guessed, Issue again comes, this time I see that 'vbus_present' holds kernel wakelock even after unplugged.
USB working fine, but sometime it keep showing charging after unplugged.
Temporary I am keep plugging and unplugging till charging icon disappear. and then reboot the phone (Rebooting is required otherwise lock will not release).
Soon I will have to repair charging point.
Ha haha, Alli need is to do not let charging point touch outer surface

[Q] Battery Problem Or Cache Problem ??

My Nexus 5 is randomly shut down not rebooting even if the battery percentage over 90% , and if i try to start it immediately after that the system try to rebuild cache again by optimizing apps one by one "Take 10 minutes or more" and the phone always shutdown before completing the optimization plus the battery dropped to 0%, but if i connect the phone to power source then try to start it, it will start normally but the battery percentage drop by 25-50%
i try all this following methods without any result
Factory Reset
Clear Cache by default Recovery and CMW recovery
Re-flashing stock image throw adb-command
Downgrade to Android 4.4 and then switch between Dalvik and ART
Flashing CM-Based Roms
Flashing different kernels
Lock or relcok bootloader
Encrypt and Decrypt the system
Secured an unsecured lock screen
safe mode
all of the above tries failed to stop this issues, and because my Nexus 5 is out of warranty I need to know is this battery issue? and if i replace it this problem will be fixed or this is a deeper problem with cache partition and need professional to fix it
Note : he phone never shut down if it connected to any external power
The issue is well known and widely reported. There's a Google Product Forums thread about it here
https://productforums.google.com/fo...urce=footer#!topic/nexus/IJSOuc7gw0w[326-350]
I have it as well, exactly as you describe it. In my case battery replacement seems to have solved the problem. The phone runs perfectly now.
it's battery issue
I replace the battery and the phone till now run perfectly

Not charging past 70%?

Hi, I have a galaxy s6 Sm-g920X (live demo unit). It auto updated to version 5.1.1 and since that time it isn't charging past 70% help!
Furthermore, if I turn it off and plug it in, it will turn on automatically! I can't make it stay off when plugged in.
Side question: How can I disable annoying low battery power notification when it reaches 15%?

Hi, the battery not charging fully has happened with a few people online and the fix has been similar. Wipe the Cache through recovery mode options, then let the battery run to the point where the phone shuts off. Then try charging and see if it goes past 70%
Not sure about the other problems hopefully someone can help you with them
Will wiping cache affect my apps, like control settings for Modern Combat 5 etc?
Thanks!
I should also have noted that I am not using an original charger. Could that damage the phone/battery?

As far I know nope, wiping cache is different from clearing individual app caches, and it won't lead to any loss of personal data or settings (including app setting)
And nope all charger leads that fit and charge your phone should be efficient and not cause any damage, I've not always used an S6 lead for my Galaxy
Wiping cache did NOT solve the problem.
Any other solutions?
Help!!
Wiping cache and dalvik... then let de battery go to 0% and turn of the Fino alone, the charge and see what happens.

Hello, I have the same problem with galaxy s6 g920x. How do I wipe Dalvik?
what is Fino?
thank you
Download a program called "Battery Calibrator"
You may need root, this should fix your problem (Just run it, and drain your battery normally)
Did it work?

plz
note:-
already done factory reset my phone .
wipe cache partition and wipe data still the problem
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Yes this update really has a problem with battery drain and there's no option to go back to an earlier version even if you restore or wipe cache etc. It will remain updated. The only solution is to disable all smart features in settings which use and activate sensors such as proximity sensor, camera and infrared. Try taking a look at accessibility in settings. I believe many features here are power hungry. Clean up all the background apps every time. You can download Greenify from play-store to help with this

MOTO G4 Bootlooping Issue

Hello all. My daily driver has been a rooted Moto G4 running RR (Oreo) for years now. As time has gone by, the stock battery has deminished to not lasting even a few hours (thus, it is always connected to a powersource). Since it is used primarily for work (Amazon Music App) w/ViperFx settings I've set, making any BT device it connects to sound outstanding, I'm in a dilemma... :/
The phone when pulled from power will randomly shutdown. (Guessing the battery application is faulty because of age, it calculates incorrect remaining battery life, shutdown point, eta charging , etc.) At times when this happens upon turning back on it will boot loop. The fix has always been to fully charge battery and it would restart as normal. Couple of days ago it has now permanently remained in loop, even with full battery charge or charger plugged in.
Searched for fixes and have attempted TWRP: cleaning cache, davlik/art cache, then rebooting. Removing SD Card, repowering. Selecting System then repair option, then restarting.
Hoping to retain data and settings without a factory wipe. Thanks for reading and assisting with a resution!
