Hi
I'm facing a problem with my Nexus S, before it was working... but, unfourtunatlly i just make some modification in the system file and now my phone not working and stuck at the google logo black screen... exactly, i think the problem in the java runtime.jar file that was in the system folder, i replace it with another file and all that done since i want to add another language to the system so that it can understand it. but, the device now is not working....
I tried to enter the recovery mode and wipe all data, but nothing change. its keep the same. so i tried also to format the system (from the recovery) since, the modification done in that folder... also, its not working....
So, I think the best way right now is to return it to the default rom(official one from google) , i download it, and tried to flash it using the "fastboot" command but it keep give me error when writing for system.img file....
What can I do right know ??? I can't use my device at all...
Help me Guys, please.....
For future reference Factory wipe doesn't touch /system...just /data.
If you formatted your /system, and it actually formatted, all you can do now is restore a working system.
If you didn't make your own nandroid backup of the system (and you ALWAYS should in the future before messing with system level modifications) to have a known working configuration, then your best bet in my opinion is to go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
Download the nandroid image from there and flash it to your phone using Clockwork Recovery.
Good luck.

But, The question here is.... how can i flash it when i can't get access to the memory(since the Nexus S doesn't have sd memory slot) and to the system ??
when i enter the recovery, all i can do is use the fastboot command.... can i use it here ??
Thanks alot .....
If you boot into Clockwork, you should be able to use it's mounts menu to mount the sdcard...then use adb to push the files to your sdcard. adb should be active and working in clockwork.
If that doesn't work out for you, you could also try the Odin and "download mode" approach from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947950

Hello guys
I have the same problem, but i guess for different reasons.
I applyed the superboot from the modaco´s forum on my nexus s, but I guess I did it with the wrong version (i had got the 2.3.4 ota before doing so and used a 2.3.3 version) and now my phone won´t boot. My rom was stock. Now, it remains on that google initial screen. I can´t get to upload anything for the device since I guess the usb debug mode is off, although when I connect the device to the computer, the system shows the usb driver. I guess my device is GT90 something, can´t say for sure. Have to check at the box.
That said, I´d like some help on what to do about it.
I´ll be forever grateful!

The thing is that i already have clockworkmode installed and i can access it through bootload, in fact is the only thing i can do. My problem is that i just can´t send the recovery.img from the pc to the phone. And I also think that the usb debug mode is unavailabe, so I can´t activate it.
I´m new to this thing so the only way I could move files into the phone was through windows explorer drag and drop. Honestly I´m lost without it.
Is there a different way to push it to the phone ?
I understand this forum is intended to more experienced users, and for that I apologise.
Guys I found a solution by enabling USB from clockwork! Thanks! Keep the good work!

Hello "ectole", could you let me know how you get out of it. I am in the same problem. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13800735#post13800735 to root my phone, now I always boot into clockwork. I can I boot into Nexux again?
Hi guys,
I'm in a similar situation. I tried to install CyanogenMod 7 to my Nexus S (ATT), got stuck at the skating dude.
Booted back into Clockwork, and tried to flash back to the stock firmware, but I think I accidentally flashed the wrong one (for the 9020T instead of 9020A) build. Now I can't get into ClockworkMod or anything on the screen whatsoever.
Does anyone have any tips at all? I'm really screwed here, would appreciate it a lot...

Hey bante just go to clockwork then to mount/dismount menu and the last option should be mount USB storage. Mount it and stay there and your PC should see the sd card. Then upload what you want.

HELP!!! Odin bricked my Nexus S i9020a
I attempted to use odin to restore my phone. Could not get past bootloading screen. Put phone in recovery mode and used odin and grh78 firmware.
Odin went thru the whole process and said success, then my phone shut off, and will not power back on. Any ideas?

By 'recovery mode', do you mean download mode? (you hold both vol up and vol down then plug in USB)

Sounds like you flashed i9023 software. You could try Odin. Does your computer recognize the phone?

I've just gone through all the steps to unlock my bootloader, gone through all the HTCDEV bit with no issues, the bootloader is now unlocked. I've also managed to flash my ROM with the CWM Recovery image and as far as I know that was successfull too, i've now come to booting into recovery and the phone hangs on the HTC splash screen and doesn't appear to want to go any further. I've tried to access recovery both by doing it manually (Pull the battery, restart holding vol down etc etc), and also via the One X All-In-One Kit with the same results. Any idea chaps....

Bro, i am experiencing the same ordeal and i did what you did aswell.
I am using the Australian Vodafone region of the HTC Sensation XL with Android 4.0.3
HBoot is 1.28
Phone has been Unlocked and I have successfully rooted my device.
I'm stuck on HTC screen when i flash or recovery using USB.
If i soft reset and reboot, the phone will shutdown after HTC screen.
I can' even see my beloved Vodafone logo :crying:
My delimna first started when downloaded JRUMMY app called OVERCLOCK or something. I slightly adjusted the LCD density and frequency and then i used the inbuilt reboot option. From memory it was HBoot reboot or something similar.
Ever Since i couldn't boot up my phone and it was stucked at the Vodafone Logo.
I then used HTC one X all in one toolkit and the N66 super utility to tried boot the phone.
I tried flashing the recoveries within the tools but it won't work.
Now, those tools don't even recognise my Device when i tried to connect.
Calling all experts to assist in this matter. Thanks

I'll try that.... I should have said that my phone is not rooted, and the only way I can get the phone to start is by popping the battery. Once it restarts everything is fine, I'm trying to root my phone as i have a couple of apps that require root acces, otherwise i wouldn't be too fussed about all this, but now i'm best part of the way there I want to see it through.
Andy
SORTED!
I re-flashed the rom with the CWM Recovery and blow me, it worked. Booted into recovery no problem. The first time I did it it must have not flashed properly. I've now since flashed my phone with SuperSU and now have root access.. Alls fine and dandy, and I have also installed Cerberus in the root which is why I wanted root access in the first place.
Thanks for all your help with this,
Cheers

My phone Huawei Honor 4a, SCL-TL00 4glite.
It was delivered loaded with Chinese bloatware and no access to Google infrastructure.
I rooted it with Kingroot after unlocking the bootloader using HUAWEI website. I then flashed a twrp recovery, using fastboot . I prepared the Cyanogenmod ROMs and the Google bits on an SC card, ready to go. I rebooted the phone a couple of times using fastboot reboot, then tried to access the recovery mode using power+volumeup keys and it went straight into Fastboot&Rescue mode. It now will connect to fastboot but is not recognized by adb. I can flash to it (I tried a couple of alternative recovery images and they flashed ok, but made no difference). The question is - how do I get the phone to boot normally? I have tried manual reboots using different key combos, I have removed the battery, left it for 24 hours and retried. I have googled this and there seem to be plenty of examples of it happening, but none properly resolved on various forums.
Please help me.
Is there anyway to factory reset or just flashing stock kernel? My phone is unlocked and rooted.
Hi,
It seems that you already found the best place on XDA to post your question.
Please continue your journey there
Good luck!
Hey guys,
Longtime lurker but first time encountering a problem and needing to register.
I've previously ran a nethunter build on an old Nexus 6 which went fine. Now I've picked up the ZTE Axon7 as I needed a new phone.
I followed this thread: HERE
I successfully was able to follow along and get TWRP as my bootloader.
I then followed the instructions to go HERE to grab the Axon7 img file and tried the "TWRP Install" method (install the image to recovery and flash it)
Now upon reboot, I get the ZTE logo (the red dot shows up at the same time like a normal boot) then the log and dot disappear with the red dot then doing one quick flash afterwards. From there the device is just off. Even if I try doing a reboot to the bootloader via power + VolUp the same thing happens. Essentially I think this means the entire bootloader from twrp is now gone??? Plugging into my PC I still get the sound of a device connecting but it is not seen in Windows. HOWEVER while the device is connected to my PC I AM still able to see the Qualcomm port in my Device Manager.
Is there any way to go back to having an OS????? Even my backups I made??? It just seems like there isn't even the bootloader anymore and I just don't know what to do :crying:
If someone could PLEASE help it would mean the world to me!
Did you ever get this resolved?

First, TWRP is a custom recovery, not a bootloader.
Second, it seems to me that your device has a locked bootloader, you have to have an UNLOCKED bootloader to flash TWRP, flashing TWRP without unlocking bootloader brocks devices. You need to restore your stock firmware.
What exactly does device manager label your device as when you connect to PC?

Yes, DrakenFX helped me out. Ended up being a long complicated process that I couldn't really rewrite here if I tried.
Hi
I have a Ulefone 2 with an unlocked bootloader and a modified ROM. TWRP 3.1 is installed which I got from needrom.com. Everything was going smoothly until a few days ago when it stopped fast charging and started charging really sloooow. So I decided to backup and reset and flash the ROM again. I did the reset and it booted in to TWRP recovery and froze. I can't push any of the on screen buttons or move the slider. When I turn the phone off it just goes into reboot again after 5 seconds and back into TWRP. I have tried booting into bootloader but no joy. It just reboots, TWRP and that's it.
I have loaded all of the necessary drivers on to my laptop, tested them on another 2 MTK based phones and it recognizes them but won't recognize my phone. I've tried ADB, Fastboot, and just about everything else that I can think of. I am at my wits end on this and I don't want nor can I afford a new phone so I am getting pretty desperate at this stage. I've tried using SP Flash Tool to wipe the phone and start afresh but again the phone isn't recognized. So any help would be appreciated.
Is there anyway of getting the phone recognized so that I can override or wipe TWRP and wipe the phone and put on a clean install? I've spent ages on every site that I can find but my problem seems to be unique as I can't find any solution to it.
If anybody can help me out I'd be really grateful.

You might have to try a method that boots and restores the device from external sdcard.
The method to do so and the software/files needed varies from one device to the next so I don't know if this method works on your device or what software/files you need but its worth searching.
Try a Google search for:
"Unbrick (your model number)"
Or
"Boot from sdcard (your model number)"
Or
"Flash from sdcard (your model number)"

Tried all of your advice but no joy. I tried to boot from internal SD and also external as well. I've tried to attach a mouse and also a keyboard. Still no luck If I could even get the device to turn off I probably could get it working again but every time I power down it just restarts and goes into TWRP again. It won't go into fastboot or bootloader and I can't remove the battery. I waited until the battery was fully drained, plugged it in with SP tools running but the moment any juice went into the battery it booted up into TWRP! Unless something turns up I'm going to have to just bin it.

Maybe you can convert the stock firmware file into a TWRP flashable.zip then flash it in TWRP. Depending on what part of the firmware got corrupted, that might fix it.
Converting the firmware is kinda complicated and it requires using linux or Cygwin on Windows.
