You should be thinking about ditching that phone by now and start embracing devices like Oneplus. Gionee isn't fair with software updates, they leave you right where u are after you buy the phone. till date, a good phone like Gionee E7 is still stuck on Kitkat, whereas E8 is still on Lollipop since it's debut. There is also no developer support. because gionee doesn't release sources, making the device dead.
For many years, i have been looking forward for custom roms for the E7 & E8 but nothing really especially with the E8.
i must say you are pretty out of luck with the E8, unless u want to stick to what's stock. but if you enjoy custom roms and features like me, then you surely might wanna sell that phone and start heading out for Oneplus which allows boot-loader unlocking officially with rooting offering you the chance to try over 100 roms right here.

Hello Everyone,
Im having a Gionee E7 Mini and everything was ok before the kitkat update. After the update a considerable amount of RAM was free and device became much more smooth to operate. But the battery behavior is unpredictable. Please find the attached screenshots. Is there any solution for this or do I have to live with it .
Thanks in advance
Hi there,
There is a thread where is discussing about this device :
I need guidance! Gionee Elife E7 mini
You can ask/post there your requests.
Good luck
So, I have flashed many ROMs on this phone. As most of them worked , some of them had problem where when I entered the camera or flashlight my phone would restart. And now I really want to know what is the problem as it became pretty annoying. Allview A5 Duo is the romanian equivalent of the Gionne P2 and Walton Primo F2 , as I saw from my searches. And some of the ROMs which have the camera bug on my phone on those phone works. So if someone could help me It would be awesome. ( and sorry if I didn't post this where I should have, I am a begginer here ^^).
Hi,
You will need to ask for help in the threads for the roms you downloaded with that issue.
Good luck!
I can get GIONEE EFILFE E7 3gb ram 32gb rom variant for 150eur new with year warranty. I don't like paying only for the brand. I could take some LG or samsung phones which cost twice more for same specs but it's useless. I wanna ask why some people can;t update their gionee e7 phone to kitkat ? this phone recently got official 4.4.2 update but some people getting error "Not responding" why ? and liked this phone so hardly it's beast for price

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Yeah, a custom ROM would be the way to go to get more languages, unless you are keen on doing a lot of translating to the strings.xml file
Your forum can be found here (can bookmark this for future reference):
> GiONEE Elife E7
Feel free to ask questions here, once registered on XDA:
> GiONEE Elife E7 > GiONEE Elife E7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
By the way, this guide should help with rooting (if not, can ask in Q&A).
> GiONEE Elife E7 > GiONEE Elife E7 Android Development > [GUIDE] ROOT Gionee Elife E7 (16/32 GB)
Also, I see a bunch of recoveries, and OmniROM
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Okay I can only ask this here, which makes it seem out of place to me but here goes. I have the Blu Vivo IV, apparently it is the same phone as the Gionee elife s5.5. The same root methods and the like appear to work according to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-blu-vivo-iv-kitkat-4-4-2-t2854480 so my question is does the same hold true for ROMs? I downloaded an unofficial port of Cyanogenmod from http://www.blu-dev.com/ but the zip is labelled for the Gionee s5.5. My worry is that there will be just a tiny difference in the hardware, requiring different drivers. Has anyone tried this, that would be able to tell me if this ROM is safe to use on my Vivo IV, as I don't want to lose a phone I have just purchased.
It has been a few days so I am going to assume it is okay to bump
Should be fine, they are the same hardware wise. Your only problem will be a Gionee boot screen!
Are you 100% sure that I'll be able to install the Vivo rom on my Gionee S5.5?
Yes, I am 100% sure you can flash that ROM because it is the same phone, just rebranded. And it will be stable than anything.
