Req: Aod of n7 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Any flashable ZIPs guys? Thank you so much!

You can get it by flashing one of the Note 7 port ROMs (I'm using OnTheEdgeLite UX 3.3). You will get the N7 AoD with third-party notifications, but interaction with it doesn't yet work (I think it is kernel related).

Pretty good actually. I get 5+ hours of SoT, and I am a heavy user and I do a minimum of 30 minutes of graphics intensive gaming.

Ok thanks. Will try the rom later.

Lol I have a Snapdragon S7 but still I want the N7 AOD ... so I am not able to flash custom roms. But I can flash zips. Can anyone still try to make a flash able port?

I tried using an app from a port and put it directly into the system but it crashed... I set the permissions and did everything correctly but no luck.

Wow, I didn't know the T-Mobile variant had root. You can only flash zips with root, right?

Which model? You should probably go through with it if your switching to an international S7

What it's aod?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to flash a Note7 ROM if I want that AOD?
Are there any particular downsides to flashing that ROM vs running the stock S7 ROM?

Is there a way to switch to LTE/CDMA to CDMA only without rebooting?

I remember on the S4 for a very brief stint with an AOSP ROM you could switch without having to reboot.... In fact, there was actually a quick setting toggle for it lol. Anyway to do this on a TouchWiz ROM? Thanks in advance!
Sent from a Galaxy 5 light years away
I thought that was based on the kernel and how the ROM interfaces with it. It shouldnt benecessary to reboot, but if the ROMs infrastructure makes it think that its necessary, then it will. Some tweaking of a TW ROM should make it possible, however the RODT ROM im currently running is asking to reboot also

Unfortunately there's never been a way to convert the Verizon addition to a developer edition as far as I know. But with S OFF there is really no difference because the device is completely unlocked and you can do whatever you please with it.

Can you link me to the exact one that you are running currently? I installed the 1122 build yesterday and everything was fine until I rebooted the ROM and I lost data completely and was unable to get it back. I heard of a few others complaining of the same issue. Have you tried to reboot your phone and see if data still working with wifi off? If so and it is please link me to it exactly which version you're running thanks

I installed it a hour ago. No problems yet
I have been wanting to convert mine to a dev for a long time, and there are two different posts out on the m8 forum for this but they only work for the gsm versions such as international, tmobile and at&t. And I"am sure there has to be a way for our verizon m8 its just finding it, as ours is a world phone being both cdma and gsm, even if it had to only run on the gsm side it could still work if they get the volte update pushed out as part of L then there would be no need for cdma for us and we could just totally run off verizon lte which is actually gsm.
So this may be a possibility in the near future especially. I myself not only want the updates directly from htc which are faster but I would prefer to never ever again have to run verizon software / firmware because all verizon wants to do is lock us all out.
At least all the other carriers allow htc dev to unlock the bootloaders but verizon just likes to be total asses about this, I guess they think they are too big for there britches, for this exact reason I really wish I could switch to at&t but I dont have coverage for them at home with zero bars maybe some edge coverage 1% of the time never enough to use the phone on, and verizon is not much better with only getting 1x data and no plans to upgrade.
So I"am with all of you on this I would like to convert my verizon m8 to dev also and ditch verizon having any control over my phone ever again, as I pay them for service and not to try to lock down my phone which I"am supposed to legally own with honoring my side of the their 2 year contract.
But for that matter you can buy a phone at full retail price and they still try to lock you down.

Stable rooted ROMS for 955U

Hey guys
Just rooted my S8+ 955U, however there seems no custom ROM available for my variant, there are a bunch for 955F and others, but those should not work with mine right?
Any ideas? Thanks
No they run on a different processor than ours also we have locked bootloader
Since I rooted device is very unstable, I might get back to stock firmware, can not see any positive thing after rooting. Do you?

S7 G930F rolling back to original Nougat

Hello guys,
I have been following XDA for quite long time now and always could find answer for my question but this time I gave up..
I was so amazed by S7 performance that I never though I would need to go CF. 7h SOT on WiFi was common and 4,5h on 4G. But after Oreo came up it gotten worse and worse.
I really would like to roll back to Nougat offcial - so far I learned there is no way to achieve that easily but since I didnt find any straight answer I started to wonder if that is even possible?
At the moment Im on Oreo v.4 BL and custom Kernel which was supposed to help with battery drain on 4G...i mean it does a bit but this is still not what I am looking for.
Have anyone found a solution for draining?

Looks like flashing a custom 7.0 ROM is the best we can do for now
From what I understood, it's not possible to downgrade stock official nougat. Only custom ones using the oreo bootloader.

So what is the closest to official 7.0 ?
I have tried Lineage 16 lately but didn't like it. Not to mention that drain was still there...

Come on now you know its not that simple, bootloader doesn't reside on same partitions you can wipe with rom installs.
If I knew it wasn't that simple I wouldn't have asked. I figured if ROM's can update bootloaders they could downgrade them too.

We cant downgrade the bootloader. I also want back Nougat! Its was very better in battery life
So I have checked both Lineage and RR but it was even worse.
Yesterday in the morning I installed the latest stock Oreo XEO G930FXXS4ESC1 and the latest TGP kernel - it seems promissing. Got 3h25min SOT using only mobile network.
My battery life is 81% so the result with TGP is the closest to what I was gettin on Nougat.
If that keeps up I will stay with it. But I think I will give a try with Superman Rom v2.90.
