Hi guys. I have bought a Galaxy S7 2-3 months ago. I am still on stock rom,also never rooted on s7. Is there someone out there interested in building CM for S7? I saw that someone has built cm for s7 edge and booted it,so it is possible. Thanks to everyone who will answer

You need to make an edit to the kernels arm64 config before it will compile but when you try the make error will tell you where the file is if you don't know

Yeh,well I know that building CM for Exynos is hard,but they have done it in the past. Look at Galaxy S3. I had an i9300 and it still works with CM

Not impossible... I've done it before on Exynos devices and fixed everything for AOKP on OnePlus2 (got it to official) but that was a SD SoC

The only thing stopping us from getting a stable CM build for the S7 is everyone saying it can't be done which it can it just take a bit more time then other devices

Ya i kinda like touchwiz(stupid name i know), can you imagine an aosp camera on the s7? That'll be a cluster**** of a mess, no instant focus, no sdcard support, no nothing, just a featureless app. Try the google camera and you'll see what i mean, takes 1 second to take a pic.

Currently i am testing this rom on my intensional s4 I9505 and it's fast and so many features.

How to flash is simple. Just flash the rom. Than cm kernel, (see link). Than slim addons (see link). After boot paste the apn script (see link) in system /etc folder and reboot.

Once we have working TWRP recovery for 5.1.1, I'm sure Sac's updated ROM for OFE build will soon follow.
There is unofficial versions of TWRP that work with 5.1.1.

None yet. I wonder if you can get into recovery can you sideload a USB OTG that has a proper build.prop and overwrite the F'd up build.pro?

Exynos is referring to the processor inside the phone.... The US version of the Note 3 did not have Samsung's Exynos processor. They went with Snapdragon CPU. The International Note 3 has the Exynos CPU. I think there are other international versions too that dont have Samsung's CPU in them but knowing which phone you have in this case is important.

The Exynos threads for the Note 3 are a bit behind others like Sprint version. There is an Aurora ROM going around that adds Note 5 features but not without issues. You will have to research the ROM Threads to see. But Pekaka ROM and the other older ROM (forgot name but latest version is L24) are probably the most stable with less issues.

Just recently got a j7 i did alot of development on the j3 just wonder if someone can get me up to speed as what progress there is on the J700P id like to know of what kernels, roms, what works what doesnt what we need and it would be nice to have s thread with all this is 1 place
I currently have all sources with ubuntu rolling.

Hello good sir! I have been scouring the forum for this very post! I also just got the j700p. Coming from the LG Stylo 2 with no root.....I'm super happy to have root, TWRP, and BusyBox going...But can't find any kernels or anything to put this stock room into permissive selinux. I need my viper4android(literally purchased this for that reason) so I will be keeping a very sharp eye here. Thanks for your work Buddy
