How did you try to update and with which file?
I read some changed their region by changing some entry in a file, one example is this topic but I am sure there are more to be found.
EDIT: One more about region.
i put C432B571 Full OTA (Europe) for MT7-TL10 on my sdcard on dload.
and
forced upgrade method: Copy the “dload” folder to external SD card, then boot your phone while holding Vol up + Vol down + Power. Release the Power button when your phone vibrates.
the update.app is in dload folder

If I were you I would root your phone to allow modifications.
First step is obtaining an unlockcode to unlock your bootloader, please search the topics for someone that can provide it as it can be hard to obtain it using the official page.
jfer671 was so kind to help me and perhaps also you
Next is flashing a custom recovery (TWRP) using fastboot. To use this you must install some software and drivers to allow connecting to your phone. An easy start is using Nexus Root Toolkit to guide you through the basics.
EDIT: Way easier might be using this excellent tool (SRK Tool Huawei) I forgot about
After this you can flash and root (flash SuperSu), backup and restore etc.
thx Mother_Teresa
with SRK Tool Huawei i root my phone.
in the sub menu utility i choose 9= changing oem info and custom.bin. change to eu.
it installs fine. after I do not know what to do.
when i want install C432B571 Full OTA (Europe) for MT7-TL10 the message is install software failed.
actully my rom is MT7-TL10C00B561

I had same problem with SRK tool, and had to do it manually. You have to be rooted though.
Install a file browser with root access (fx explorer)
In the folder where you installed the SRK tool, go to oeminfo_mate7/oeminfo_eu
Copy the oeminfo file to phone to #system(root)/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/ and set file permission to 0777
Copy the custom file to phone to #system(root)/data and set file permission to 0777
Reboot phone and check vendor info again. If it is Vendor : hw Country: eu then you're good to go.
You can now receive the B571 OTA, but you first have to remove root using the SuperSU app, and reflash the stock recovery using the SRK tool
Then you should go into Setting / Updater on phone, and check for updates

Thank you cege987 for these explanations.
I'm not root for now, I have code to unlock my bootloader, but never use it.
I hesitate to return my phone to Huawei, because it has problems with the GPS (I sometimes have to reboot to it fix the signal)... And it's still under warranty.
If I root, I lose my warranty

Hi everyone,
Problem: I tried every method I know to install B521 on my H60-L04; but every time I encountered a problem: the installer failed at "post_processing cust" (at 96%). After rebooting, the OS seemed to be half installed: ugly arrangement of icons, no keyboard, no hide navigation bar, ... and factory reset did not work. In short, I had a bad feeling about it.
Solution: Thanks to this post, there is a simple procedure to solve this problem. In cust partition of B521, there is only a folder for "eu" region and my phone requires a "ru" folder, so I just renamed "eu" to "ru" .
The procedure is:
Install B521.
Root the phone (I did by Multi-Tool).
Install an explorer which can access and modify root (I used ES File Explorer).
Go to "/cust/hw".
Rename "eu" folder to "ru".
Do factory reset.
Done! enjoy your life.
After above procedure, my phone has this features:
Swype and Google keyboards
Supports 4G and has a button for it in notifications
Hide navigation bar button
Motion control
Mirror and Smart Controller
Some games!
...
Note that may be your phone requires different country code than "ru", but even in indian rom B510, there is a "ru" folder in "/cust/hw".
Also I find a procedure for users who don't want to root their phones:
you can extract "cust.img" from "update.app" using HuaweiUpdateExtractor and unpack "cust.img" contents by ext4_unpacker. Then rename the "eu" folder to ru" and repack it by tools described here. Finally flash modified "cust.img" in fastboot mode. Note that because repacking tools need linux, I did not do this and don't know even it works or not.
what's your base version of kitkat?
i have B370, can i directly go for the update of B521?

I tried to upgrade from B370, B380, B390, B394 and B500 and all are the same. If you buy your phone from eu region, it must upgrade with no problem.
thanks! i would give it a try
keep you posted

What I had - CL00 blocked China Telecom
What did you do:
1. Replace oeminfo file
2. edited custom.bin in ../data
3. edited build.prop in ../system/
in line ro.build.display.id = - prescribed first line of the file with the firmware verlist.img which passed
4. disabled SuperSU
5. regained stock recovery from the current firmware
6. cd to the folder in dload update.app put on the new firmware
7. Turn off the phone
8. Disconnect your phone from usb
9. Volume button (+) + (-) and turn on the power
Run the installer firmware
After rebooting the phone included as AL10
operate both SIM cards
Powered 3G and 4G
Set 156 update via WiFi
Now I'm waiting oeminfo L29 to go to a European location

My CL00 also became looking like AL10.
Now, this AL10a(over CL00) can not catch 4G LTE but only 3G.
Also, there still pop-up "China Telecom" restriction when I put some sort of SIM (Japanese carrier "au")...
Otherwise, I can use AL10a quite nicely.

I do not appear inscriptions China Telecom with any sim
Maybe you missed something in the user manual
Installation I used the firmware NXT-AL10C00B129SP02
Immediately after the launch of the phone have been updated on the WiFi version to 158
My phone does not work with all 4G operators
Megafon 4G works.
Beeline does not work.
Perhaps firmware for AL10 has restrictions on what that frequency.
We need to try to change the region to EU, but so far nobody has shared oeminfo from L29

Hello,
From what I understand I can change my model by replacing my oeminfo with the same file from another model (for example the file provided here)?
I am not able to find that file on my device though, I'm using "Root Browser" and my "dev" folder seems to be empty thus I'm not able to find my oeminfo ( /dev/block/platform/hi-mci.0/by-name/).
Can you help please?

Recently XDA Member @tungkick posted a method to root LG-H960A
However, different variants like H960AY gave error "TOT File is Invalid".
I managed to avoid it with some Hex-editor changes:
Use at your own risk!!
Tested on my H960AY and working
Other variants like H960AR can give it a try, it might work as well - Please - tell us.
Instructions:
1. Download Fixed TOT File for H960AY - Here.
(If you have a different variant like h960AR: open a hex editor like HxD, Locate first line that has "AY" and change the letter to your own model.
This will bypass validation check of LGUP. Theres a reason for these checks, however in our case there shouldn't be changes between H960A, H960AY, H960AR etc...
2. Download LG USB Drivers - Here
3. Download LGUP - Props to @tungkick .
4. Install LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi.
5. Install LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi
6. Copy "common" folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model"
7.Boot V10 into Download Mode (turn off -> press volume+ -> connect usb to your PC while volume+ pressed)
8.Run LGUP --> Select your Phone --> Select bin file (The file you downloaded)
--> Choose: Upgrade (so you won't lose data).
9. Enjoy a rooted V10.
Props to xda member @tungkick , who brought you the original TOT file.
Looks good man, thank you!!
will it work on H960YK?
You should look for differences in devices(maybe different bands - in that case i don't know what will happen)
If there aren't major differences then yes, try editing the file(step 1) and flash.
The worst outcome is that you'll have to send it to repair(to flash original). Please consider before attempting.
Where do you get the exact model number? Is it from the hidden menu?
SW Version Info: H96010c-ESA-XX
Factory Version: LGH960AT-00-V10c-ESA-XX-NOV-18-2015

Thanks….I hope...
something is wrong….after hwota8 there's a pic lx9 with build 8.0.0.046(0BKZ), google's app doesn't work, like playstore, chrome and other...It's impossible to flash another rom with hwota7 or Dload because erecovery, twrp are blocked...iI don't know what solutions are still possible...
Hi guys.Help me give root.Huawei not give key for bootloader
I want to be able to root after erecovery and update to latest version. I know magisk can patch boot img for reflashing via fastboot.
Question is, how to extract original boot img?
I know there are tutorials, but they reference specific block that seems to be device dependent. Or am I making it too complicated?

You need the UPDATE.APP for the boot img.
You can find in Huawei Firmware Finder for your Version, download the Update.zip and unzip, inside is the UPDATE.APP.
Extract UPDATE.APP with Huawei Extractor https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454
Copy extracted Boot on your Phone and install Magisk and Patch the File
The patched File save Magisk on internal Memory, copy on your Pc and flash via Fastboot.
Your Bootloader must be unlocked!
Thanks for the run down. I'll give it a go.
Looks like I need a note 10 profile for Huawei extractor. Anyone have that available?

Yes, that's what I use with the unknown profile. I receive this error.
EDIT: I downloaded another file 8.2.0.158 and get same error, just different indices. I don't know if it makes a difference but most of the files found in FF are for C00B. My system info shows only C00. Could that be relevant?

Same Problem in 181 ,but in Settings uncheck :
1:Verify header checksum
and
2:Verifiy file checksum
Unchecking the 2 checksum checks you asked me to check opens up the update.app app-ropriately.
(couldn't resist )
Thanks for the help.
Baby stepping is driving me nuts.
I'm able to extract the update.app file but there is no "boot.img" in the several archives I looked at. Does it go by a different name? list attached.

Ramdisk.img
I've finally had a moment to sit down and put it all together. Got my latest stock oreo rom rooted. Feel confident I can do PIE if it ever shows up for me in the US. Thanks for the tutorial Letschky.
As luck would have it, PIE update arrived after tweaking up the rooted Oreo. Ready to root PIE, but there is no "ramdisk.img" in my downloaded 9.0.0.181 archive.
Has the name changed for PIE or is it a bad archive?
