[Q] No Data Roaming

For some reason my Sensation 4G(TMO-US) won't data roam on AT&T network. Any ideas?
Here's the current situation... 2g is all I can get at home. My 2g icon is showing but NOTHING that requires data will work. I'm roaming on AT&T because I'm outside the city, and voice and text work just fine but when I check my data roaming via *#*#4636#*#* it says not roaming. YES I HAVE DATA ROAMING ENABLED. My gf has the Exhibit 4g and has no issues... When I put her SIM into my phone data works just fine. I've called T-mobile and they claim our phone settings are identical and data roaming is enabled on their end for my SIM but when i put my SIM into her phone it won't connect to 2g. I've removed the battery and SIM, toggled ciphering, had then rebroadcast my number and still nothing. AND YES it's a new SIM card, actually the 2nd one and Tmobile 4g and 2g work just fine as well when I'm in their service area. Any help would be appreciated since T-mobile doesn't see this as a big enough problem. Can I somehow enter an APN for ATT? I'm really out of ideas.

I have the same issue did you ever find a solution?
Tmobile had to have a tech rebuild my profile for their network. Took about a week or so. Everything has been fine since.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App

Problems with GSM on Verizon S3

So I bought a prepaid SIM in Canada in the summer, put it in my Verizon SGS3, and it worked fine. I'm there again now, with the same SIM. The signal strength indicator says no bars and that I'm still on Verizon, and USSD codes (*777# to check balance, for example) don't work, but I can make calls and SMS.
I tried flashing another rom, and also flashed the radio back to VRBMB1, and back again to VRBMF1, but no change.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

At&t ?? Or verizon?

hey whats up all. i checkdd the 4glte bands and saysbit should be compatible with at&t but when i put the sim in and i get the blank bars witht the x. and not connected to the network... any help?
I got ATT to work on mine, I actually have cricket but they use ATT's towers. You have to go into the dial pad type in '*#*#4636#*#*, this will bring up the testing menu, from there go to 'Device information' You'll see a drop down box tap that, and tap on 'WCDMA only'. With my phone I have to do that every time I boot up. It's kinda (Very) annoying, But if I don't do it I will get unstable data.
Another thing is that if you use ATT it won't work on their 4G LTE network, I am forced to use HSPA+ all the time.
check you have data apn settings sent to your device, you can call to get those.

Can anyone explain why I see Dual VoLTE when Sim configured one way and not another

Specific to dual sim with Tmobile and Verizon - Unlocked version 7 pro:
When Tmobile SIM is data sim, both lines show VoLTE in status bar, and 4G under each sim. When Verizon is the data sim, only Verizon sim shows VoLTE, and Tmo is UMTS. Could this be a provisioning thing on tmo side? They see my phone registered as 7 Pro, but Tmo billing site shows unknown device.
Or does TMO require data for VoLTE and Verizon is looser allowing VoLTE when not on data because they have no 3G to fall back on?
Just wonder why Tmo falls back to 3G and doesn't use VoLTE when it is not the data sim? This implies there is something better about falling back to 3G when possible - maybe battery life or coverage?
I'd also like to know this if anyone can explain
Acknowledging that this post is rather old but I am facing the same issue. I have the issue with my 2 T-Mobile lines that I'm using in an unlocked OP7Pro. No chance to get VoLTE or VoWiFi going for a line unless it is the active data line. Given that T-Mobile wants to go LTE (and 5G) only early 2021 they should get this sorted out...
@FSOP @chromedome have you found out anything more on this topic?

I think it has to do with Verizon only has LTE on this device, so no matter what the Verizon connection is LTE.

XZ Premium / LTE on AT&T? AT&T says I'm only using 3G

I'm being told that my device is going to be booted off AT&T because my XZP is only running at 3G (according to at&t support engineers). I find this hard to believe.
I had some initial issues with the sim because I used the sim from an older phone, which could only do 3G, so it wasn't registered on their network as capable of anything else. The jerks in the store were of no help, and even got attitude with me about dropping my sim into a new phone to see if it would register. Luckily, I had a bud who had a brand new LTE AT&T phone, so I popped my sim in there, let it register, get access to all their new/current bands, and then I put the sim back in my XZP... lo and behold, all the capabilities were unlocked.
I have been running the at&t apn for high speed, phone started using 4g+ when the LTE rollout finally got fully deployed.
In trying to run down if AT&T is full of crap or not about kicking my phone off the network that is "only using 3G"... I came across this https://apn.gishan.net/en/apn/att/sony-xperia-xz-premium
It shows I should have a bearer of LTE, and I do not. I have 4G and all of the older network types, but no LTE. Does anyone else have this? If so, what network are you on? My phone should be current on its updates, as old as they are...
Maybe I need to drop this sim into a current gen phone again and let it register on their network?
Any ideas/feedback is appreciated.
