Which Kernel+ROM supports CIFS/NFS? - Xiaomi Mi 4i

I am basically trying to mount network folder as a default, so that Network shared folder is visible in all Apps (gallery, filemanager, whatsapp, etc).
So my question is, Does any kernel+ROM supports CIFS/NFS?
Thanks!
Note: I have tried ES explorer and similar apps. Though, these apps can access LAN folders, but this LAN folder can be viewed in that app only.

[Q] Pictures folder

Where the hell are the pics I've taken stored? I can't transfer them to PC without being able to locate them. (No I don't want to "share" them via the bluetooth, gmail, etc., I want to drag and drop to PC.) Using Supermanager as my file explorer. Rooted as well.

How to browse files on phone via win 7 explorer

How to browse files on phone via win 7 explorer.
I use wifi router which has my computer connect via lan cable (wired connection) & other computer/laptop & phone connected via wifi.
From the phone using es file explorer I can surf the lan on windows 7 computer but I cant surf the files on phone from win 7 explorer, it does not even show in devices connected (using usb connection it shows) so I assume that something else needs to be switched on or connected, can someone tell me what do I need to do so I can browse phone files via windows explorer?
if you have an sd card in the phone and the drivers installed, you can browse the files on the sd card via usb connection. if you're trying to browse ROOT files (which you forgot to mention), the only way to see root folder files on your computer is to install android commander and follow the instructions. google it, and good luck.
Do you want to browse your phone files through wifi? There are multiple ways:
1) connect to your phone through samba. Install Samba Filesharing and you'll see the phone in your network.
2) connect to your phone through ftp. Install one of the many app in the market, like this or a file manager (many of them allow you to share folders through ftp or even http) and in windows explorer simply type the address shown in the app (ftp://192.XXXXXXX)
3) use airdroid (it will allow you to do also other stuff, like sending sms)
Wao!
I am glad I asked & I am surprised by airdroid, wonderful interface it has loving it now.
Thanks

Both are paid apps whereas airdroid is free & the interface airdroid offers is far better than anything I have seen. With airdroid I can do much more than just file transfer like sending sms.
*Files
Transfer files between Android devices and computers.
Cut, copy, paste, search, rename or delete files on the SD card.
*SMS
Read, send, forward or delete SMS messages.
*Applications
Install, uninstall, backup, search apps and do batch processing.
*Photos
Preview, delete, import, export, set as wallpaper and photos slide show from desktop.
*Clipboard
Share clipboard text between desktop and device.
*Contacts
Group, search, create contacts, check and delete call logs.
*Ringtones
Search, preview, import, export, delete and customize ringtones for phone calls, notifications and alarms.
*Music
Play, search, import, export, delete, or set as phone call, notification and alarm ringtones.

Thanks for finding out these apps.

I suggest you use USB Mass Storage If you want to view files on your sd card. If you want to view rooted files on your phone I suggest using android commander.
Try to get MY PHONE EXPLORER it's free can save SMS, contacts, restore, install apps, backup, view folders, edit them and many things for FREE!

I have been using myphoneexplorer last 6 years & yes its the best what it does but what actually I was looking for was to use windows explorer to surf the files but have not succeeded in doing that.
Using these software both airdroid & myphoneexplorer File transfer is slow 1.6-1.8Mbps so 1gb file takes almost 10 mins time I thought it could be faster if I use windows explorer but seems its wifi limitation.
I use 54Mbps B/G/N wifi router & have class 6 SD card, when I use usb connection the file download is much faster within 2-3 mins for 1gb data.
Transfer files wirelessly is always slower.
Note that the speed you see when you download a file through airdroid (or anything else) is usually expressed in MBps and not Mbps, they are different things. Your router support a max speed of 56Mbps which is equal to 7MB/s. That said, 2MB/s is not that bad, you also have to consider that it's hard to achieve the max speed, you need to be near the router.
For huge USB is the best.
(For file transfers I think that the others two method are better, airdroid is not so confortable.)
Ok I will try the two methods & see if the speed can be faster, if no speed gain then I stick to myphoneexplorer only as it has everything minus the user interface of airdroid.
BTW I have the router right beside me 3 feet away.

[Q] Folder sync between phone and tablet over wifi

Hello all, I need to sync folders between my phone (Galaxy S2) and my Infinity... I use to do it with my PC but it's time is up, CPU failes... The folders are my music and photos folders, I would like to do this over the wifi in my house. The app must basically compare the folder contents on both the phone and tablet, and if there are any additions to either, they must be coppied to the other device. For instance if I take a few photos with my phone during the day, the app must detect that there are new files in the Camera folder and send those to the tablet, or if I put a mp3 file on my tablet it must be sent to my phone as well...
Are there any apps that do this? I am more than willing to pay for this functionality
Id like to know this too!

CHeck here:
http://www.estrongs.com/products/es-file-explorer.html
Basically, if your phone and your tablet are on the same wifi, you should be able to click the LAN tab, and then scan the LAN. It will show all the IP addresses of the devices on the network.
This works wonders.

I have been using FolderSync with good results.

Try GammaSync
For PC-to-Android folder synchronization (only one-way at the moment) I developed a free app which does not require external cloud storage services (like Dropbox or SugarSync). It's called GammaSync, and it's available on the Play Store. Maybe you'll find it useful

Does it work directly between two Android devices, without requiring to upload everything to the cloud from one device and downloading again on the other?

Syncs with the cloud.
Esexplorer will require you to copy/paste between devices. Foldersync with dropbox/box.net may be your best bet.
Foldersync allows scheduling of sync with cloud via wifi only or data plan. Its the best 'set it & forget it' option I've found

[Q] allow native file manager to access Google Drive

Is there an app or extension to allow my Google drive account to be accessed by the native file manager? I have a few large files I access frequently and I would rather not download them to my device every time in order to use them
X-plore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore
That's not really what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for an alternative file manager, but something that would have my device see Google drive as a physical storage device like an SD card. Kind of like how it works on a desktop
I'm also looking for this. Something like it mounts cloud storage to the device.
Firstly you will need to be rooted. When you save files offline in Google Drive, they are saved to
/mnt/sdcard/Android/Data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files/pinned_docs_Files_do_not_edit/*CRAZY FOLDER NUMBER*. You would have to navigate to that location to access the file with your file explorer.

Is there no way to restrict folder access by app ?!

I'm currently using AFWall+ and Xprivacy to manage which app can access my data and which app can access the Internet.
I'm rooted and on CyanogenMod btw.
I basically just block Internet access for every apps and for those apps that really do require Internet access, I restrict what exactly these apps can access.
But there there are a couple of huge flaws in that system:
Let's say you install a hypothetical app to share your photos. That app needs Internet access and access to a folder containing your photos.
But there is no way to restrict access to just a single folder. You either grant access to your whole file system or you deny it completely.
So this app could easily spy on other things like your videos, music, confidential documents or whatever.
I know there are ways to secure folders with passwords, but when I put a password on my documents folder, my document reader won't be able to access that folder anymore.
Is there an app or Xposed module that I could use to simply specify which app can access which folders?
Hi,
I don't know if this Xposed module AppOpsXposed could be an answer for you.
AppOpsXposed just let's you change app permissions, as in "Storage access: Yes/No". The same can be done with Xprivacy more safely and it is not what I'm looking for at all. I basically want to be able to set permissions on a per-folder basis.
