Is anyone experiencing low volume when watching movies or listening to music. Either I'm going deaf or the speakers aren't that loud . My samsung vibrant played movies and music at a nice volume , any suggestions on apps to make it louder.
I'm having same issue..only complaint so far on day 2

Figured it out if you tap the bottom left corner. When watching a movie a speaker type icon pop up hit it and it change and the volume gets loud . The only draw back is the video player that comes with the phone won't play mp4 movies and the players on the market don't have volume control ughh
Any one have a fix for the low audio when playing movies with mx player? You can hardly here anything with the stock speaker when watching a movie. However youtube and all the other apps have alot louder audio.

Swipe up on the right hand side of the screen whilst playing. MX, like many videoplayers, has internal volume control.
Look into Dice player - it has built-in settings to amplify the sound... Besides that, it's the best video player I've used...

I found that Volume + is the best app for boosting volume for any players including internet video streaming and Youtube etc.. It's a master volume boost for all your audio, master volume, headset volume and blue tooth volume. The boost is extremly high so set to about +14 (+20 is max) should be suitable for anything you throw at it. After you installed, make sure you go into preference of Volume+ and set the gain, then go into settings ->sound.> effect volume and put a check for volume+, reboot and voala!

Yes, Volume+ works fine, but it's just another app that will always be running, sucking up CPU cycles and memory.... I've found that my volume is fine for just about everything except for certain videos, which is where Dice really shines...
More of a personal preference (I used to use Volume+), but if you start adding all of these little "add-ons" (volume+ to increase sound, Lux to do auto-brightness, live wallpaper to display a static wallpaper, etc), you end up consuming quite a bit of memory and/or CPU cycles for things that you don't really need extra apps for...
When I was trying to tune the stock kernel, I tried to (and did) find ways around using all of these "add-ons" (due to the poor performance of stock) and I think that my system is better tuned because of it...
Just my opinion, of course!

Running Viper 3.1, with the H/K audio mod...AM a GPAA and now a YTMK subscriber. Despite having the settings checked to enable background audio playback for music videos in YTMK, the audio shuts off when I navigate away from the video.
Anyone have this issue or any ideas? Obviously not the end of the world....just curious.
EDIT: It does work (background playback) when starting out in the YouTube app and playing a video.
It does NOT work when you are in GPAA and you click on the video button and then YouTube Music Key initializes.
I've noticed that on my SHIELD tablet the sound is pitched much higher than it should be in certain apps, usually ones that involve video. This is true in Google Play Movies and also in games like Attack the Light. Voices come out as bizarre and squeaky. In other apps, like Play Music, the sound comes out normally.
The sound is pitched up even if I play the sound over an external Bluetooth speaker.
Does anyone have an idea of what could cause this or what might fix it?
I've also noticed that in Google Play Movies, the sound is pitched higher if I download a movie and watch it, but not if I'm streaming it.
When recording videos, audio volume is low, and the quality seems way off, almost like there's a slight robotic effect, or as though the audio track's bitrate is lower than it should be.
To add to the oddness, there will often be a tenth-of-a-second (give or take) at the beginning OR end of the video that's at normal volume and quality...
As far as I can tell, nothing's covering any of the mics. I'm currently running the latest Nougat beta, but the same thing happened on 6.0.1. Maybe a clean install is necessary? I don't even have a lot installed.
Here's a [bad] video sample, originally recorded with Skype as a video message but later saved:

You can hear the bad audio at the beginning. It also lacks additional bass. Quality gets a little better through the rest, but you can hear the brief portion at the end where volume is where it should be.
