[DISCONTINUED][MOD][13 FEB] AIO MOD - PYD-X & SebastianFM Kernels v1.2.3

AIO Kernel MOD by axetilen & iba21 (AROMA)
v1.2.3 is gonna be the final version because I'm gonna get the S3 on FEB 18
Requirements:
- PYD-X kernel v4.1.9 or higher
- SebastianFM kernel v1.5.0, 1.5.1 or v1.5.2
- Grogg kernel is also supported but not fully functional -> Run MOD for PYD-X kernel
- SENSE-BASED ROM which supports init.d folder
- S-off and rooted phone ~~~> it is very hard to deal with S-on users
- The latest 4EXT Touch Recovery
- AOSP/AOKP/CM10 are NOT supported
FEATURES:
- Select kernel type or Powerful Kernel Reset
- Selectable OnDemand Configurations: Battery Save, Balance & Performance
+ These configurations change OnDemand behaviors
+ Battery Save: less responsive but save more battery life without significantly afftecting system performance
+ Balance: default configuration of the kernel
+ Performance: more responsive. System will be very smooth despite low frequencies
- Separated CPU max frequencies
- Selectable CPU frequencies: Max and Min
- Selectable CPU Second Phase Frequencies
- 3 choices of 3D GPU max clock
- 11 choices of Undervoltage: -25mV, -50mV, -75mV, -87.5mV, -100mV, -9%, -9% plus, 11%, -112.5mV and -125mV
- Zram on/off
- Delete some (not all) leftovers of other kernels which may affect this kernel (Powerful Kernel Reset)
- Some Tweak Scripts
- Add 4ext Tweaks script
- Fast Engine Flush script by zeppelinrox
- Adrenaline Boost v3 by ImmaWind
- Automatically zipalign apks on boot for better free ram and performance
- Selectable i/o scheduler
- vsync control
- fastcharge control (for PYD & Sultan kernels)
- Notification LED time-out control (only for PYD)
- 64, 128 and 256mb softswap options
DISCLAIMER:
- Softswap can degrade your internal memory. Use it with your own risk
- v1.2.3 could increase the boot time of Sense 3.6 ROMs by 30 seconds -> not sure but if you have this problem, revert to v1.2.2 or open init.post_boot.sh and delete this line: sleep 30
GENERAL NOTES:
- This is NOT a kernel, so you have to flash the kernel before flashing this MOD
- SebastianFM kernel doesnt support Screen Off Frequency
- If you set any value of swap or zram -> minfree will be set automatically to Medium -> no minfree menu
- If you choose No swap or Zram -> minfree menu will appear
- 9% and 9% plus: they have likely the same standby battery life as -75 but worse with heavy usage. So they are stable for almost all devices, more stable than 62.5 and 75mV and much better than -50. If your devices cannot handle -62.5 and -75, -9% and -9% plus are the best choices for you
- I'm neither a DEV nor a pro in this field, so having mistakes is inevitable. Please forgive me
- You tell me if you experience a bug…
NOTE FOR VIPERS ROM USERS & KERNEL TUNER USERS:
- ViperS has Venom Tweaks which is able to apply some settings and overwrite some of the scripts in the AROMA
- Please open Venom Tweaks and set the same as what you choose in the AROMA menu
- Kernel Tuner could also apply its settings and overwrite my scripts. Please check this too
PYD-X KERNEL NOTE:
- fsync control has been removed in the latest test build v4.1.9
- if you're using 4.1.9, in fsync menu, choose anything you want because it is useless

ADDITIONAL MODs:
SoftSwap
- Requirement: a lot of internal space
- 64mb with swappiness = 60
- 128mb with swappiness = 90
- 256mb with swappiness = 100
- Softswap uninstalling script
- Automatically create swap file if it is missing on boot
NOTE:
- You would see a low storage message -> ignore it and increase your space by moving apps to sdcard and use Clean Master to clean up trash
- If you want to change swap size, flash the uninstalling script first and then flash the new swap zip
To check Swap status, open android terminal and type:
Code:
free -m
DISCLAIMER:
- Softswap can degrade your internal memory. Use it with your own risk
Battery Auto-Calibration Script by seo (from ARHD ROM - non-AROMA)
- Automatically delete batterystats.bin after unplugging your charger
- Increase battery percentage accuracy
- Minimize the situation that your device reaches 100% but actually not that much => last longer
- IT DOESNOT IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE BUT HELP YOU TO HAVE A MORE ACCURATE BATTERY STATISTIC + AND THE SITUATION IN THE THIRD BULLET POINT (100%...)
- Some people will say it is useless at all but I think it is still useful in some cases => That's why this is included in ARHD or Virtuous Inquisition ROMs
Download Battery Auto-Calibration Script

Logcat Disable (non-AROMA): modified from ViperS ROM
- Delete dev/log/main on every boot
- Save some battery life (not significant)
- If you are a normal user and rarely report bug to ROM Devs, this MOD is useful. However, if you are a tester, this MOD will delete logcat, so you don't have that file to send to the Devs

Thanks for sharing! Hard!
Here are a couple of lines I find useful -
This changes the read ahead for the emmc and sd block devices as well as the virtual sd one.
Code:
echo "4096" > /sys/block/mmcblk0/queue/read_ahead_kb
echo "4096" > /sys/block/mmcblk1/queue/read_ahead_kb
echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
This changes the io scheduler for emmc and sd, SebFM has noop, cfq and deadline.
Code:
echo "noop" > /sys/block/mmcblk0/queue/scheduler
echo "noop" > /sys/block/mmcblk1/queue/scheduler
This dims the capacitive buttons, in SebFM changing their brightness the usual way doesn't work.
Code:
echo 2 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/currents
This mounts swap and sets swappiness. I find it better than Yank's as it's nice and simple and doesn't waste time and cpu.
Code:
swapon /dev/block/mmcblk1p3
echo 70 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

I have already had:
Code:
echo "2048" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
echo "cfq" > /sys/block/mmcblk0/queue/scheduler
echo "cfq" > /sys/block/mmcblk1/queue/scheduler
I will consider your advice
Can you explain more about scheduler backlight and swapiness? I think cfq is better than deadline and noop
Thanks
Thanks for you hard work. Will check this thing out ASAP!
Glad you got your own thread.
Nice little mod this, latest 1.6 seems to be working as expected.
As i will be flashing new viper soon anyway I might have a bash at some higher frequency and see if I can crack 50fps in nenamark 2
Sent from my SuperSensation.
ViperS ROM 1.1.0.
Sebastian OC Kernel 1.5.2
Anker battery.
I have an issue with what you've written on Logcat Disabling.
Your way (via a script) does not save or improve battery life in any way, it just deletes the log on every boot. If its disabled within the kernel (ie that actual logcat service is disabled) then it would save some battery life, but as ERD Hacre said in one of his kernel threads, battery life saving on that one wont be much, tbh I'd be amazed if it turned out to save more than 1 minute of battery life.

No you don't need setcpu. You can set your favorite setting when installing the mod. Aroma installer will ask for each settings you can do. It's very easy to set it up.

About Android tweaking
This Post is reserved for sharing various information about Scripts/Tweaks used to Tweak the Android system through the Linux kernel.
The main goal of using scripts and tweaks:
Scripts and tweaks are used :
-Improve Performance and GUI Smoothness.
-Improve Battery Life.
-Tweak and Optimize the Android engine!
Useful Info About Tweaks:
-LMK:
The Low Memory Killer is a constant debate between more free RAM and more multitasking capabilities as free RAM (more than 60MB free) is actually wasted RAM.
The Low Memory Killer is actually a feature in the Android OS used to improve memory management.
This is an important feature due to the perennial problem of having low free memory causing lagginess and slowness in launching apps. When you have free memory lingering around the number of 40MB or less, the Android OS just lags like hell.
What this would mean is, you would want to tweak the LMK to not have the situation of it having less than 40MB (or even close to that).
The modern Linux machine in the Android ecosystem relies on a mechanism called Low Memory Killer (LMK) to consistently free up RAM. This is due to Android's internal mechanism of caching apps (and never fully exiting them) when you press the back button. This is to enable faster app switching and provide a seamless experience for apps usage model. Android also, by itself will also constantly look for often used apps to cache them for faster app opening. This will happen even before your system fully boots.
Now, when you mention LMK, the most obvious thoughts that come up are minfrees and Out Of Memory (OOM) groupings. Yes, those two are integral parts when it comes to LMK. The issue here is that no one actually mentioned that there are two LMK systems in Android, that being:
- Linux LMK
- Android Dalvik VM LMK
-Journaling/Barriers:
-This has been a touchy subject here in XDA for most people who debate about it. Most recently,Some Scripts included a way to disable journalism on these partitions:
/system (System is read only, it's safe to remove journalism. However, you will not see speed increase by removing it as you're not writing onto /system 99.99% of the time unless you're using Titanium backup to remove system apps or copying init.d scripts to it)
/cache (Cache can be rebuilt on the fly. Data corruption on it is not game breaking)
/data (All of your data on your phone is here. Removing journalism can risk data corruption. Read more below)
On whether we need journalism or not, I will pose this situation:
Journalism is required to maintain data consistency in events that could lead to data corruption. Data could get corrupted in a number of situations:
- Misbehaving app that constantly writes without syncing/committing data to the disk
- Power loss due to forced reboots or bootloops when data is partially written/committed into disk
-Memory leaks:
If you found out that your Android is laggy after sometime and a reboot will make it faster, then you're experiencing memory leaks. "free" is a command to show your currently free memory. It will not necessarily be the same value as your phone's free memory.
-Busybox:
Busybox is required to perform all of your superuser activities in your android phone. There are some problems associated with this when ROM developers decide to use a certain version of Busybox that are incompatible with the binaries that we use in our phones.
-MinFree:
Minfree is part of the Kernel used to multitasking and It differs from a Phone to another because of the RAM available in users space.
-Network Tweaks:
There are some Tweaks that are used to increase the speed of your Network browsing, downloading and uploading
-Build.Prop Tweaks:
Those Tweaks can generally be found in Build.prop /system and they are used to optimize overall system speed and battery
-SD Card Speed Fix:
This is a Tweaks that Has the goal of increasing the read-ahead speed of your SD Card, and that by improving your SD R/W speed.
-Smoothness Tweaks:
Well with the Linux Kernel there is a possibility to add some Tweaks to optimize the GUI Smoothness.
-Entropy generator engine:
This engine can reduce lag by keeping a section of the Android file system (/dev/random) full of random bits so that the system does not have to wait for the file system to generate them.
-Zipalign:
Zipalign is a tweak used to optimize Android application (.apk) files. The purpose is to ensure that all uncompressed data starts with a particular alignment relative to the start of the file. Specifically, it causes all uncompressed data within the .apk, such as images or raw files, to be aligned on 4-byte boundaries. This allows all portions to be accessed directly with mmap() even if they contain binary data with alignment restrictions. The benefit is a reduction in the amount of RAM consumed when running the application.

Seems to have some problems with Custom roms That have Other init.d scripts.
Btw I did already test It on stock rom with custom Kernel and it worked!
Working great on GNU#5 Kernel on Evo-X3 rom with minimal amount of other scripts!

Normally,It should work but feel free to delete all other custom scripts in the init.d folder and test mine!
This script was published for testing purpose so you people can test It before asking here.
In this script have...
# This script is only edited by me to improve it for S5360, credits goes to...
setprop dalvik.vm.heapsize 72m (64 is default,72 is too high for this hw)
/system/xbin/echo "4096"... (2048 is the best by far)
setprop windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec 60 (Refresh rate of gy is 60hz so the correct value is calculated by 60*1.5)
after reading,my conclusion...its pure copy-paste...no offence
But..
Have alot of commands overwriting others.....so its no "edited" for S5360
worx well on my jellynoid rom with percy #5 kernel, even on my duos with gingericejelly v2+compact kernel too. :good:

!!!!!!! DANGER !!!!!!!
Sorry for some users experienced smaller icons and interfaces, that's because...
I forgot to remove the "ro.lcd.density" property on your BUILD.PROP!!
I will remove it to the next update A..S..A..P!!!
OR kindly remove the "ro.lcd.density" property form your build.prop, restart and it should be okay!
In case of any bootloops...
THERE'S AN RESCUE PACKAGE AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE!
README!!!
There's an README if you cannot find it in my package and it might be outdated...

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
ULTIMA SPEED-UP PACK 1.01
Readme
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
* Introduction
Many low-end phones today lacks both speed and multitasking
function because of limited kernel setups and
lower capacity of RAM, just an literal budget-level
right?!? That's why (as a low-end device user), I've created
an quick package with supercharged launcher,
more powerful and more speed, perfect for
mobile gamers and enthusiasts like me! :D
I don't know if it can run Asphalt 8 now, LOL!
* ULTIMA SPEED-UP Functions
+ init.d Support
+ Pre-installed SManager (Your new FRIEND)
and V6 SuperCharger Script by zeppelinrox.
+ Amazing Tweaks by various xda Developers
+ Blazing device speed like never before!
+ Decreases lags and increases read speed
at the same time.
+ Burning kernel tweaks
+ Better Memory Management with fixed OOM
which is it improves multitasking.
+ Crisp, Sharp Display both 2D and 3D so,
now you can play "moderate-to-heavy" Games
(Could be better with Chainfire 3D or GLTools!)
+ Saves more Battery Life and decreases
consumption.
* Requirements
- Rooted Android Device (2.3 to 4.2)
- SU and BUSYBOX must be present!
- Your ROM should be stock!
- Installed Custom Recovery (CWM/TWRP)
VERSION 3 and up (CWM)
- 220-512MB of RAM
(NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MORE THAN 700MB)
- Writable /system and /data partition
- Any File Manager with ROOT function support.
- At least 18MB of free space in /system and /data
- No any modifications/tweaks installed.
( Must uninstall other tweaks properly or
else it will BREAK the SPEED-UP! )
- And a latest NANDROID BACKUP
( Just because i'm not responsible for
any damages will occur on your device!
GOT IT??? :p )
* Installation
Install using CWM or any custom recovery.
( Must mount /system and /data first! )
Some actions are required which is you must
do some tricky things to consider!
Case #1:
Tweaking build.prop could not be updated
or lead into BOOTLOOP.
(Depending on your recovery and system)
- There's an extra file installed on your system
called "build_tweaks.prop", copy all text inside
that file into inside of "build.prop"
on your system.
NOTE: Must be the end of the line of your
build.prop!
- ALERT: There's an RESCUE PACKAGE OUT THERE!
or manually copy/paste your default
files using AROMA FILE MANAGER
(Available at xda and installed separately)
Case #2:
The SPEED-UP Setup might be break! Because it cannot be
install some files to make it more compatible.
- Check all scripts in order to work!
RUNNING SCRIPT IN PARTICULAR ORDER!
EVERY TIME YOUR DEVICE BOOTS!!!
( It can arrange accordingly by creating or
renaming alias or it's file name in SManager )
Set the scripts and binaries to boot!
Don't forget to tap SU/Skull icon!
Case #3:
If you are using Link2SD and installing large count of
apps, you an encounter this problem by clearing your
mess (such as dalvik-cache) in your phone to make
it more efficient.
BEFORE YOU JUMPSTART MY SPEED-UP:
- You must install the NO CLEAN edition...
Filename : update-**-SPEED-UP-PACK_NOCLEAN_1.10
(or manually edit my updater-script if you know it well)
and you must clean the mess manually.
NOTES:
+ The pre-installed V6 SuperCharger script version
was RC9 Update 11.
+ It will replace your current BUSYBOX
so make a backup properly.
