I have scoured the Internet for information regarding any custom work for this phone.
I stumbled upon samsungillusionforum dot com, which is a dead forum with ancient posts and near zero activity. It seems to be an alias to samsungfascinateforum dot com. Why anybody would set a forum up in this manner is beyond me.
Last month I bought the Verizon Wireless Samsung Illusion SCH-i110. I waited around a month to see if anybody would post any information regarding rooting/ROMs for this phone to no avail.
I plan on trying SuperOneClick to root the phone, but as for Custom ROMS I don't know what is out there.
I would appreciate any and all information anybody has regarding ongoing customization work for the Verizon Wireless Samsung Illusion SCH-i110 running Android 2.3.5.

I too have been looking to see if i can find a way to root this phone...i like the phone, nice and responsive and just a good midrange phone, however i do want to get root access for wifi tethering.... I have tried superoneclick, doomlord, z4, gingerbreak, and universal androot all to no avail... if anyone has success getting this rooted please share the knowledge and it'd be highly appreciated....
I am in the same boat here... My girlfriend recently picked one up and hates all the VZW apps that are installed and we want to remove them and tweak the system a bit. I have scoured through the interwebs for close to 2 weeks trying to find anything that can root this phone. Unfortunately, anything out there as far as I can tell does not work... Can anybody please help with this?
yes please im in the same shape as yall i got a couple darts modded and now i have the gnex and it is great but if i cant find anything soon maybe this one will not majically work and need to trade for a differatnt model.......ive also tries every method th OP origanilly posted............sux new toy no mod
Same here. Starting to think no one will ever root this phone. It boggles the mind that there is an unrootable android phone on the market. :-(

I was an idiot to suggest to my wife she get this phone from Verizon - I just assumed it was going to be a quick root for this cheap phone and I'd get all that Verizon crap off of it and it'd run great...

It's not that it's unrootable, it's just no one spends time rooting/modding prepaid phones... I'd be willing to work on it but I would need a tester, someone who can use ADB
I personally have tried everything including ADB to root this device. It isn't a prepaid phone. It is a contract phone through VZW
Just wondering if anyone has tried getting root by using Unlock Root from unlockroot dot com?
I am also interested in any progress on this phone.
I have the straight talk version S720C Samsung Proclaim which runs on Verizon service.
I assume that once a root for the paid Verizion is working that it should work as well on the Proclaim?
I got this for my daughter and being able to wifi teather would be great

i got the st s720c series and have come up empty handed on any even attempts to root the phone. anyone have any luck yet? thank you.

dj posted what he could, he has root, took the guy 5min or less to do it once he had access to dj's phone.
I dont have any info to pass along, except more info details and a easy way for you all to get root is coming.
Ive got a bricked verizon galaxy note 10.1 2012 edition and cant seem to get any help on the forum for it. not even a single reply in a week. I know the gs3 is around the same generation i believe we even used some slightly modified versions of the gs3 root methods/kernals/recoveries etc. on the 10.1 if anyone has any pointers on what i should try id really appreciate it. im not trying to save any data or anything just get it working again. here's my original thread with more details. Hope im not stepping on anyones toes by reaching out to a different forum again any help is really appreciated ive always been an htc guy so im not very knowledgeable with odin.

My name is JJ and my phone or service has taken a dump.
I have the Unlimited Plan with MetroPCS and its paid. I was on the phone today for an hour (on another device) and they have no idea what seems to be the problem. I live in great coverage zone. I have been having troubles connecting to the mobile network as well as getting, receiving both calls and texts. When I am connected to WiFi I am fine..ish. I set up apn settings a few times, most recent today with MetroPCS. My IMEI is good, paid in full phone which is a SM-G925T-ZDETMB (Galaxy s6 edge orginally from T-Mobile)
Took it to the store and they looked at me like I am a monkey. :silly:
I need my phone for work and can't afford to get another one. It seems to be in great working order other wise. I figure I might as well flash it and root it and make it mine or something. I downloaded ODIN and got freaked out because I have no clue what I am doing.
Be cool to flash it or root it with Nougat. Is that possible?

Ok, this is my first post on here in years. Forgive me if I am not in the right section or if this question has been answered countless times. Anyways, I have had an Galaxy s3 Boost for years now. When I first got the phone, I rooted and put a custom rom on the phone. I believe it was "Wicked X". Not sure the exact build model numbers for the phones or rom. Will insert later if needed.
Well with Wicked X, I was able to acheive unlimited Hotspot access with no cap. Normally on the plan I am on, the hotspot caps at 8 gigs. I was using 30+ with this rom build.
My question is, I am switching to the S5 now and would like to know a way to achieve the same on this phone as I did with the s3. Maybe this has already been answered and if so can someone please redirect me.
I have no problem achieving root access on this phone but I would like to know of a rom that gives me Unlimited hotspot cap like Wicked X did for me with the S3.

you may want to look at the ROM you used and the apk that sounds like was baked into it. It might have just been using one of the many hotspot apps that dont tell the network that youre utilizing hotspot. Chainfire had one out there before he retired that will likely suit your needs. I use resurrection remix and it has hotspot baked in that doesnt tell my carrier that im using my data for that.

Just got this phone today since I needed to get the hell away from Straight Talk. I really like this phone, but haven't found anything anywhere about if it can be rooted.
Anyone out there know anything? I'd greatly appreciate any help you guys can give me! I've always had rooted phones, so it'll make me a little nuts if I can't root this one!
