Custom rom S7 flat - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi!
Does anyone know if there is a rom here that only support S7 flat version 930F.
Which also supports ota updates so you dont have to wipe your phone and start from scratch.

Not sure what you want to do....
Over The Air upgrades are only possible in stock unmodified roms without root or stock unmodified roms with systemless root , when you flash a custom rom you modify your system and do not qualify for OTA
I clean install each time of what? , when you instal custom recovery you have to do a full wipe , when you install a custom rom you install once and most of the time unless the rom has a mayor change you do not need to wipe to upgrade, if you change custom rom is recommended to full wipe to avoid incompatibilities

As i said in my reply , if you have a custom rom and the developer comes out with a new version unless there is a major change ( developer will inform if so is necessary) you can just flash on top of what you have (no wipe)

Hi,
how can i relock the Bootloader from the Mate 7?
Is it possible? I want to sell it and it would be nice if the new owner can do OTAs.

You do not need to relock your bootloader to receive OTA ..

You need recovery compatible with rom came from..
For example ; if u are on 127 and u wanna go back to 120 u need to flash 120 recovery first .. then flash 120 ROM

Well, you can manually check it will pops up once huawei sends OTA ..
u can have CWM but u wont be able to upgrade.. you will need stock recovery for update OTA..
to be honest custom recovery is technically useless for us bcos no custom roms are avail. it just good for rooting.. nothing else..
System knows when phone has been rooted ... here below

Thanks for the information (and pic). Will flash stock recovery back only when/if there are updates.
CWR will be useful if we (like me) do something stupid and then restoring from backup.

Yes as long as it is the snapdragon version of the note 3 (No exynos)
I remembered there were problems flashing official HK/TW rom into XXU machine using odin. better wait for people to try before touching it.

To install this you don't use odin, all you use is a TWRP recovery to restore the backup system I've provided. this will work with any note 3 which soc is an Snapdragon 800 (NO EXYNOS)

done,
I am reading the source http://bbs.gfan.com/android-7838674-2-1.html , seems like it is for 16Gb HK note 3 , I am worried that there will be some kind of partition problem, and data corruption .
overall seems the same to me, app that crash still crash. hopefully the wifi/bluetooh are less buggy .
Probably need a few days to try it before issues pop up.
Works on n900t with wifi fix thx

So far, so good. If you have tested the previous leak, did you see any noticeable differences?

Long press HOME button dont lag anymore
I will not touch this even. If some1 have lolli from bln8 thry stay on new pit so not bad, but if some have 4.4.2 or older its not the best idea to use that mix of firmware and pit. Will looks like stable but never get fully performace. Mix of hk firmware+old pit=no **** way
Btw good to see ppl with n9005 hk version can get lollipop by this pack.
The mega link doesn't run for me

[Guide][Receive OTA after root][keep apps/data][GT-I9500][5.0.1]

a lot of users are having this problem and if you want to receive an OTA you have to flash the stock unrooted firmware that will cause lose of data.
this guide will show you how to receive OTA again without losing your stuff
This works on GT-I9500 ONLY! (Lollipop 5.0.1 Recovery)
This also should work on any other model, but you have to replace the recovery with your model!
Steps:
1- Go to SuperSU and scroll down to "Full unroot" then reboot.
2- Download This file to PC and extract it.
3- Go to download mode by pressing the power key + home key + volume down key at the same time, then press volume up.
4- Flash the file via Odin (AP) or (PDA)
go to check the system status, you will find it Official
you can now receive OTA.
Q&A:
What is OTA (Over The Air)? Its an update which you can receive over wifi or mobile data.
What do i get from OTA? Well, if you root your device you wont be able to receive an update again, unless from flashing firmware via Odin.
- Why im still on custom status? Because you modified your system.
- What kind of modifying? Installing busybox, editing or deleting or changing any app or file system.
and some times xposed.
- How do i restore the old app? You can restore them by flashing firmware or by restoring Nandroid backup.
- Then what is the use of your guide? Well my guide helps in first place the rooted not the modded onces.
and always do Nandroid of the original system apps+data
you are still having your apps, data, pics, vids, etc...
you can root again at anytime.
check my thread for rooting if you want
im not responsible for any bricks
thank you...

At some point the update maybe canceled, because the update checks for the apps before the installation, always do a backup of your phone then remove what you want, after you want to update just restore the system folder from the backup

So i need to unroot it as well ? Anyway flashed via odin original stock russian lollipop rom just to check for any update and the flashed twrp and rooted it back. Just that it takes 10 mins or more to do all this. Thought your small flash file would work .

You do not need to be rooted in order to flash a custom ROM, however you would need to have a custom recovery ( I would recommend using TWRP, but the CyanogenMod recovery works just fine )

Sorry I didn't get to you sooner, but what you have to wipe is dalvik/ART cache, cache, system, and data partitions. Don't wipe anything else. That should work. If you still run into what you ran into before, a boot loop, then that must ultimately mean that this version of the CyanogenMod is incompatible with your variant of the HTC One A9... and that's only if you still run into it after wiping the partitions I listed up above... and don't worry about asking so many questions, it's no problem. Good luck

No OS installed.

Hello guys. I rooted my Samsung Galaxy J7 "2016" last month and the flashlight is no longer open, the screen does not return and other problems. So i tried to wipe all data and from a mistake i delete the "System" and now i don't have any operating system and i don't know ho to make it normaly. How it was from the factory.
Sorry for my bad language. You can help me? Thank you so much.
