I bricked my phone by rooting and flashing firmware couple of times.
Now the phone is bootlooping.
Installing firmware ends up in red letter with
" failed to mount efs
failed to mount cache"
........................
Any way to recover or fix EFS folder ?
I got no backup at all.

Well I regret to inform you that you most likely have to send it in to Samsung. This happened to me before and I tried many different things with no good results.
If you haven't lost the ability to put the device into odin mode, I'd get the latest firmware LA3 using checkfus and use this to restore the device. Don't worry about wiping data or factory reset.

find pit file, and reflash using odin with 'repartition' checked.
Hey guys.
Today I wanted to downgrade my MG from 4.4.4 using a batch file with 4.4.2 files using fastboot.
Everything except gpt.bin and motoboot said Okay. These 2 failed :/
It didn't boot so I tried to flash TWRP and install a custom rom but every recovery says
E: cant mount system
E: cant mount data
E: cant mount cache
E: cant mount sdcard
In short, nothing mounts
When booting it up nothing more than the motorola logo shows up!
Did I **** up?
Yeah, u soft bricked your phone, but you van try wiping all partitions and flashing the stock ROM using the adb.
Hi folks,
I've gone and royally f-ed up my wife's phone and she's none too happy. . . . It started with a bad CM12 update and it's just gotten worse.
Somehow my partitions are all messed up. I can get fastboot and get to recovery (had to re-flash TWRP). However, when in recover, I get all sorts of errors like:
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to recreate /data/media folder
E: Unable to mount internal storage.
E: Unable to mount /data/media during GUI startup

Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm guessing that the partitions got hosed somehow, but I have no clue how to create them. . . .
Thanks,
Chris
Have you tried flashing the stock firmware yet?
Flashing stock firmware will help
If u r on lollipop bootloader then don't flash 4.4.2 firmware
Hi friends, my samsung Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100), got soft bricked after an official software update. I tried to recover it by doing few processes that i found here on this forum, but none worked for me. Here is the list of procedures i did and their out come. please read them and lem me know what can i do further.
1. Tried to factory reset and clear cache partition and reboot: when i entered the android official recovery (Android system recovery<3e>, KOT49H.N7100XXUFNL1) it shows
E: failed to mount/cache (no such file or directory)
E: Can't mount/cache /last_recovery
E: failed to mount/data (no such file or directory)
E: Can't mount/data /log/recovery _log.txt
E: Can't mount/cache /last_install
etc.... in red scrolling and finallly shows rebbo system /wipe data/factory reset options , even after doing factory reset and or wiping cache partition it still unable to bootup, struck at samsung logo screen.
2. Tried to install custom recovery TWRP.. failed to install, i tried different versions of TWRP specified for my phone , and also with different versions of odin.. still unable to install
3. Tried to flash official rom downloaded from sammobile, via odin, but this also failed.
4. tried to root by CF-Autoroot through odin. but failed again.
Note: My phone was on official ROM and recovery when it was bricked, and was never touched to root or flash anything into it before. and i never activated developer options in my phone and the USB debugging mode is also never activated.
please suggest me how to trouble shoot this now. I am not a techie, i just learned above procedures from forums like this, so please try to give me detailed step by step procedures. thanks.

Greetings and welcome to assist. It sounds like you need to flash a pit file. The easiest way to recover your device is use kies/smart switch emergency firmware recovery. Unfortunately this will wipe all your data but should fix the phone
Good Luck
Sawdoctor
is left in the logo and when I enter the data recovery failed to mount the efs (argument invalid) but I am not used to flash any rom some help from an expert?
