Im running AOSP Froyo 2.2
Looking for the stock app that lets u send and receive voice recordings through text messages or mms, not sure which protocol it follows.
Found it on other device forums but they all fail to install.
Thanks

The major problem that I've read about in a few phone call recording apps is the recording of the incoming voice.
I have "phone control" app on my sons phone to monitor his texts and incoming phone calls and if he's in a loud place I can only her his voice. So unless ur on speaker phone this or any other phone call recorder will not record too well.

Bro....poor kid.

EZ boys.... he wanted it cuz he's to tempted.
He's trying to stay sorta on a good track since hes very gifted in football at mission Viejo high school in California.
He had to many friends who F'd off and ruined their scholarships cuz of the extra curricular activities. So he figures the extra awareness will give him a better conscience.
And it only started cuz he did screw up... royally! And no details needed if u remember ur old days!
Then the coach gave him a new view of reality .... his future ..... he's either "in or out", its either a scholarship to a major football university or at a junior college. So he wanted "in" and wanted help.
So if ur into football, then u will know his high school is always nationally ranked so they get colleges watching all the time and they're games are on TV or streamed on FOX sports especially since they're latest quarterback Mark Sanchez is an alumni.
So u say "poor kid" or "let him live"... we do.... but he's the smart one who knows he needs the extra help.
So he's back on track and getting offers left and right!
Thank God for making him the smart one. And thanks to the dude who made the "phone control" app

i've a cyanomogenmod 7 ROM on my Htc Desire and this application doesn't work.... can you help me??? i need it!
Has anyone found, or is anyone working on a true call recording solution for the inspire as they have done on the desire?
Auto Call Recorder in the Market does this. Works very well. I use it to make prank calls. haha.
I was hoping for a true 2-way recording solution (non-speakerphone based) for the inpire as skvalex and avs333 have done this for the htc desire.
I also would be interested in this. I had a couple of roms for the Captivates that worked 2 way perfectly. Nothing that I have tried works properly for 2 way on the inspire.
avs333 will see to it after a DHD with the same chip is obtained!
Call Trunk has an Android app that works on the inspire. Easy and quick, cloud-based, keeps the call saved and available forever, free for the first 25 minutes. Contact me at [email protected] for more information.
I would like to see one built into the phone.apk like they did it on the captivate

avs333 has obtained a DHD and preparations are being made! Should not be to much longer till a solution is posted.

You have to be on a call to do it.
I do not see, even When I make phone Call.
Are you sure you have inspire 4g?

Yes I'm positive. Since I'm no longer usin a stick rom, I'll her with my coworker who showed me this. He recorded another coworkers drunk rant about his soon to be ex girlfriend so I'm 100% positive it's there.

cant wait!
I just asked the guy how he records the calls, he said he put voice recorder on the home screen and just opens it while on a call.
Voice Recorder does, in fact, record audio from both sides of a conversation from within the phone. No speakerphone setting required. Just takes a small amount of time to set up while in the call.
patches and programs will be posted in next few days!
Hi, please see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048182 I just started.
I just tried the stock Inspire 4g kernel now, and found that my patch suits well for it.
If you have that kernel, please post your /proc/config.gz here so that I'd be able to make a correct update.
If no, please contact the maker of that kernel and ask him to apply my patch to it.
Thank you avs333! Will start testing now, and will post the results. Can't thank you enough!
Using the stock povided kernel with the UCKI4 leak I have sucessfully recorded incoming and outgoing call with both voices. Most apps only worked with the speaker phone on but this seems to work internally. Have not checked to see if it is a battery hog yet either. I got it from one of the I1900 roms I was playing with and I think it is still on the market also?
I take no credit for the app or the rom. Just that I found that it does work. Testing has been limited so please also post your results if you do try it......
Thanks. Been waiting for Google Voice phone numbers to open up here in Alaska so I can record my calls. Sounds creepy when I write this but with my line of work I have to occasionally reference conversations. I'll let you know ow it works.

Nice to know I am not the only one from the great white north
thank you, ive been looking for something similar to this, i like how you can make it incognito and you dont have to see it running all the time.
I have a couple of companies that keep calling me after repeatedly asking to have me taken off of their call list so NOW i will record it and save a couple of them and if they dont stop i wil forward them to my lawyer! In the state of Texas only one person in the conversation has to know the call is being recorded to be legal. (obviously i know i am recording my own calls) now if someone uses my phone and they do not know about the app on there i would not legally be aloud to use the conversation in court. (as per my lawyers information)

OK so this modem does in fact work with call recording. Awesome! I tried for weeks to get an app to record the digital input from the other caller to no avail not realizing that the modem was the issue. However this app you posted does not (for me anyways) record anything but the audio coming over the speaker. What is working for me on the digital recording front is an app called total recall. It has an auto feature that finds the best recording setup. Option 3 or 4 worked best for me. But it does record both sides of the conversation without using the speaker.
EDIT **
Looks like only outgoing calls work properly. On any incoming call the caller cannot hear me until I go click speakerphone twice, and then recording uses the microphone, meaning is does not sound very good.
bad
who would want to record calls?
Actually came in handy for sister and verbally abusive ex husband

Any updates for call recording? I use the MIUI port 2.1.6
There is an icon for "record" in the dialer but it is greyed out.
I live in the state of Indiana where, as long as one party in a conversation is aware, either phone calls or personal conversations can be recorded. So it's 100% legal.

Good for getting directions or that honey goto the store and get me this list.
Hi. Came across this site and been going through it and love what I see. I enjoy this call recording. Works well on my Infuse 4g. Thanks
Are there any updates on this? Do I have to root and load a custom rom? I have tried the app and it seems that no matter what app I use, when it starts the call, the other party can't great me until I do the speakerphone on then off trick, but when I do that the quality of the recording is pretty much gone. Have to transfer it to computer and put the columns at like 500% to great anything.

search for a call recorder on Google Play

these work well...check app permissions..some may be intrusive
That don't work, I have tried all of them, none work without doing the speakerphone thing. I was just wondering if there is a way to record straight from the line and how stable it was on the infuse before I decide to root and go to a custom rom.

I'm not sure about your phone. I see that you are on Roger's. I'm assuming that it is 2.3.3.
If you are still stock, I would suggest calling Roger's support.
I'm using modified unofficial firmware (MUF), rooted deodexed 2.3.6 UCLB3. Once I downloaded and install the apk, it runs in the background. Every time I made a call, it is recorded in a sound file. It sounded fine to me.
Anyway, sorry I can't help more.
If anyone wants a kinky recorded phone call, let me know. I'm selling them for $1 per download. It features Bigjoe using the Note, oldbbman using the SG3 and THE AMAZING JESSICA WABBIT on the Infuse, running AEON. Sorry folks..no videos available.
Complete noob here so maybe I've missed something glaringly obvious, but how do you make a video call with the one s? I can't find any option for it and a google search only brings up ways to do it using an app or skype. My video call time comes out of my monthly calling minutes so when I'm travelling it makes sense to use it rather than skype as I have a capped data allowance and more minutes than I need.
Thanks
when you are calling someone, check options... is there any option for video call?

Nope, nothing there to initiate a video call. And then when in call I cannot find any option to turn on the camera for a video call. I've looked and looked (before and during a call) but I can't find any option to do so.
Ok I emailed HTC and asked and their response was:
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with making a video call.
I believe that the reason for this is because the phone does not make video calls via the normal phone function. It makes video calls using 3rd party software e.G. Skype etc. But as we do not support 3rd party software I would be unable to help you set this up. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Bit of a disappointment personally, but I suppose video calling isn't very popular so most people won't care. Still, was it really that difficult to add a video calling option/function?
But if your phone did support it, and not through a 3rd party app using internet, The receiver would also have to have the same set up right ?
And video calling isnt that popular.. Can you not speak with your provider and see if they can change the video call allowance into internet allowance instead ? Then you could use a 3rd party app like skype... Much more popular

Yes, but whilst I'm no expert, most phones I have come across with front facing cameras do support video calling and more importantly the people who I would be calling have this option on their phones.
Not to worry though, not a major issue. Just seemed a bit odd to me to put a front facing camera on there and not support it without a 3rd party app. I can manage and with all the free wifi hotspots I get access to through my package it shouldn't be a big issue.
i totally agree, It is a bit stupid to have the FFC, if they wernt gunna support video calls, they could have removed the camera and added something else instead.
like a external sd slot. or a laser beam what kills people... who knows ?
I dont use video calling, I hate people looking at me im the sort of dude that walks in the shadows with a hood covering my face lol
Setup a Google Voice account and then you can do video calls to other users over Google Talk.
I was able to initiate a video call to the wife's One S using Google Talk on my Samsung Note 2 with no problem but the front camera image quality of the HTC is so bad the feature is useless. I found this thread while searching to see if others had better results. The image on the HTC is dark and grainy on the phone's own screen and is so pixilated after being transmitted to mine it totally useless , the Samsung's is crystal clear.

Fanboy maybe...of the iPhone type perhaps?
Considering they are the only mfgs to add said software.
Goggle+ works great and so does google voice which is a preinstalled app of android systems...
Which means making your post is a waste of time

The front camera isn't actually that had. You just have to try to remove some dust from it. It's terrible design to hide the camera down there, it gets full of dust in no time
