Battery life - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Is normal that Android System and Android OS use so much? I stayed on Facebook, I played NFS no limits, Twitter etc..

Yes, and no.
What FW are you using? what apps have you got running in the background, remember AndroidSystem, like it says ties into alot of other things running on the phone (included packages)

I am running official firmware from Samsung (Romania region) and the Android Security Patch is at 1 July 2016 . I never rooted or reinstalled the software. I have Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Hangouts, WhatsApp. These are my social and messaging apps.

I have the exynos as well and after an update I had battery drain, restarting my phone after every time I charge it fixed the problem for me.

You say that after I charge the phone to 100%, I need to restart it and the problem is solved ?

After updating I had battery drain and reduced battery life, restarting the phone after every time I charge my phone fixed it for me. Just restart your phone after charging it to 100% and see if that will fix it.

Thank you. I will try this!

Battery issue

I played some games today and didn't use any 3G at all, WiFi is connected sometimes, make less than 60mins of phone calls. However the battery drains really fast, is there any problem or bad quality of my current battery ?
Here's a screenshot of how long the battery last ...==

According to your screenshot, your phone does not actually exist. That could be your problem
Your screenshot didn't show up, but there's a few discussions in General about battery life. Personally, I don't have any issues with normal use of a little gaming at lunch, a few calls, lots of texts, an hour or two of web browsing, etc
That said, I'm not apparently using it like some people here. So, of you're not getting normal life out of it, I'd hot up those threads.

Well, I'm not sure if Fido has the update, and I'm not sure if you could downgrade on Fido :/

mm-qcamera-daemon battery drain

Destroying my battery life. Never had this before but recently my battery has been utter crap because of this. Always have had the same setup with every ROM I've had with Franco kernel. But this is ridiculous; at this time by 1pm I'd usually have 85-90% but I'm already at 68%. Anyone else have this?

Looks like an issue with Yahoo! Messenger's voice/video plugin
Have you tried uninstalling it or configuring it?
Or do you have any other third party apps that use the camera?
It happened to me multiple times, this is caused by an app using the camera wich crash. For me it was Snapchat, it told me that it could not access the camera so I stopped the app but some hours after I saw that this "mm-qcamera-daemon" killed my battery. After a reboot everything was ok : Snapchat working correctly and no drain.
I think that if you get an app saying that the camera is not accessible, immediately reboot your phone.
it also shows up every time you take hdr photos
Seems like it's snapchat guys. It wasn't able to access camera. Reboot fixed it temporarily but this is annoying as I notice it happens a lot now. Thanks for the info.

Yes. I have this issue, since a few days, too.
There is maybe a bug or something. I found a thread where lot's of people reporting the same issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=60058
In another Thread here, I found some solution possibilities like uninstalling Google Goggles. But it didn't help me.
So if anyone founds a solution how to (manually) fix it, please report. Not using the Phone and have a battery drain of about 50% in ~5h is annoying.
Maybe someone can make an app that detects which app is causing this problem or which can kill the process!?
€dit:
I have neither snpachat nor Yahoo Messanger installed
Google just announced a fix for this bug. Android Central: Google pinpoints Nexus 5 camera/CPU usage bug, fix coming in next Android release. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwzPD-ihI
If this post helped you, feel free to click "Thanks"... Thanks!

I've had my phone ever since 4.4, this only started happening recently. Instagram is always at the top of the list now. I used to get 4-6 SOT now I only get 1-2 hours. Anyone else having this annoying problem?
I sometimes get it, a restart fixes it. Though it can be annoying because you won't notice that it's doing it until you realize your battery is going down faster than normal.

Pretty sure it's been the last few updates since it happened on my n4 too before the n5 came out.

Do you use the camera inside Instagram? If so, then stop using it.
Try clearing cache/data of instagram and reinstall it after a reboot.

The problem is that when a camera app like the one that allows users to click pictures or Skype is used, it continues to run in the background and uses CPU cycles. This not only leads to the battery drain but the phone also heats up.
Instagram uses the camera.

Maybe get rid of Chrome unless you particularly like it. I found that Chrome was a memory killer on my 2nd Gen when I tried it. I don't really like it anyway so it's usually the first thing I dump after I get a phone.

Why is my battery so bad?

I was wondering if anyone can help me find out why my battery is draining so fast? I have tried doing a factory reset to help(screenshot taken after factory reset), I have also tried uninstalling any apps that could be causing it and only have the necessities installed, eg Facebook, Messanger. The phone is less than a month old, I was getting excellent battery life then for the last week its been awful. Screen on time was only an hour when the screenshot was taken. The device I'm using is the Moto G4 Plus.

I think there is battery or software problem behind the battery drain of your android. Many moto g4 plus users complaining about the battery drainage problem.

Everybody has battery drain issues, it started in 4.4.4 and got worse with 5.0+. At the heart of it all it's a Google thing but Google doesn't care. They've made the android system more active and more intuitive to the user and the users activities. Nosey bastards and they think they know what is best for you and your devices.
