[Completed] "Camera" folder not found in under "DCIM" - XDA Assist

I was trying to backup my pictures that I took with phone camera (stock camera app).
I have done this multiple times before without a problem.
However, when I tried doing it again recently (perhaps its my first time after updating to Marshmellow), I am unable to find "Camera" folder under "DCIM" folder.
I still have all the photos in my phone (they are not deleted), I just simply cannot locate them through USB when I connect it to my PC.
What's funny is, there are a handful of photos that I moved from "Camera" folder to separate folders USING MY PHONE and I am able to locate those photos saved in separate folders through USB. I just cannot locate "Camera" folder.
I have tried transferring the photos using: MTP, PTP and also the option of USB ethernet (computer didn't recognize my phone when I tried this option)
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

[Completed] Touchpad Toolbox a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find 'ttinstall

Touchpad Toolbox a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find 'ttinstall
TPToolbox displays the message: The 'media' volume should now be made available to your PC as a new 'disk' usually named "HP TOUCHPAD" You should find a 'ttinstall' directory on this 'disk' . The drive shows up but it is an unformated drive with no label, so of course it does not have the 'ttinstall directory on it. (since it is unformated). Vista asks if it should format the drive. So that ends the install proceedure since the gapps files cannot be copied to it. Thanks Mac

[Completed] Restoring my contacts which was taken from HTC Sync Manager

Dears, I need help !! I had HTC One M7, I usually backup my phone using HTC Sync Manager as a backup option and store the files in my local hard disk. I lost my HTC phone, but luckily I backed my contacts to the local HDD but the mistake I did was, I did not completely backup the contacts to my Gmail account. Now, I am now using a non HTC android phone. I see the files are backed up in my local hard disk under the folder HSMBackup with some sub folders with junk names.. when I enter into each sub folders I see different files with .xml format. I tried to rename then to .CSV, .XSL, .VCF etc.. but it does not work for any of them. I am not sure how to recover these files. when contacted HTC support they said I need to use another HTC phone, then connect it to my PC and then backup my contacts.
Is there a way out to exact the files from these HSMBackup folder?

[Completed] Lost Camera Folder: Can't recover Photos of a lifetime. Please help.

In real need of some help.
I have followed all the steps in the guide at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...nal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705/page136
and converted this file to a VHD. (I have the raw file as well) (29.1 GB).
Tried Recuva, PC Inspector, PhotoRec and what not. They all recover all the photos which were sent through whatsapp, were edited, or were downloaded. I can't recover a single photo from my deleted camera folder which is inside the DCIM folder. I confirm that no data was overwritten when this Camera folder got deleted accidently.
I request fellow members to help me out in retrieving the camera folder pictures. The photos are precious to me and hold memories of the past 3 years.
I was trying to move the camera folder to my laptop using the cut and paste command, when the system hanged. Not even a single file was copied and thereafter I lost access to the camera folder under DCIM.

[Completed] I Cut A Folder with a Hidden Folder inside And Pasted it to Windows But It was Lost

Device : Galaxy S6
Version : Lollipop
So I decided to cut my "Pictures" folder with a hidden folder (filename is .pics) and I pasted it into my PC. Upon opening the Pictures folder in Windows, the hidden folder is already gone. The size of the hidden folder is approximately 1GB+
but the Pictures folder in Windows only has less than 1GB which means the hidden folder didn't transfer. Now I don't have a copy of the Pictures folder in my phone since I cut it instead of copied it. Can I still recover that folder?
ps. I tried re-pasting the folder from windows to phone but it already doesn't have the hidden folder. I reenacted my situation using a 60mb folder with a 5mb hidden folder . Upon pasting the 60mb folder in windows, it already went dont to 55mb.

[Completed] File recovery help [URGENT]

This is my very first time posting here and I really didn't know where should i look for help other than here, so... Hello there, XDA community.
It goes like this: Several months ago, I accidentally deleted a note in S Memo from my Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337, rooted stock Kitkat 4.4.2). Recently, when I realized that I actually need it, I have looked upon several solutions, one of them being exploring the thumbnail cache folder of the S Memo app (/storage/emulated/0/Application/SMemo/cache), which gave me the cache files but among them I didn't find the lost note. Now, if the cache files were packed inside a regular image extension, I would have no problems recovering them with any usual android file recovery tool, but unfortunately they are basically .png files packed inside a weird extension (.sfm to be exact, literally by changing the extension in the file name to .png they become viewable). Since there isn't any software that is able to recover files with that extension, what are the options?
How hard is it to compile an actual app which would dig up the folder for the note? (I've done some basic programming stuff when I was younger and I do have an idea how it all works)
Where are actual S Memo files stored? Is it easier to recover them instead of cache?
Also, since I'm rooted, is it possible to turn the phone into a mass storage device and trick the computer so I could look up for the note using PC file recovery tools?
The case is really urgent.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
D.
