I didn't know if it had been mention yet, but does anyone know which EMUI version we will be looking at on the Honor 8? Also while we are talking any news about it getting Nogurt?

It is EMUI 4.1 , runs fluidly and there's no confirmation of nouget as far as I know
emui 4.1 skin on top of android 6.0.1.
bt we can soon expect emui 5 based on android 7 as its alderdy been tested on huawei p9

Apparently Honor has promised at least 24 months of software updates for the Honor 8 so it will definitely be on its way eventually, hopefully with more Android and less Huawei bloat.

I guess you're asking if the Mate 7 will eventually get Android Nouggat. I would say highly unlikely, i wish we will get it but we'll have to see. P9 already got a beta of it with EMUI 5 so let's hope it happens!

Yeah. According to sources in Italy in February will be updated
It shows downloads and instructions on updating the Honor 8 to 7.0 I'm a bit skeptical .... trust XDA but don't know these folks

My hint is they will release a small update for 6.0.1 first (camera and RAM management?) and probably after November the NG7.0 or 7.1 as Google Pixel is about to be released with that version.

My guess is the first quarter of 2017 for the H8, hopefully sooner but i doubt it. It could be worse though: the OnePLus X got Marshmellow today

difficult to say. so far there has been no official statement on that (that ive seen). the mate 9 is still in beta phase for oreo, so i would expect that once it gets final release, only then would huawei turn its attention towards the mate 8. so no matter what, we will have to wait until beginning 2018 at least id say...

probably there is no news till now. But u shall wait for some before flashing.
Nothing yet, as there's a beta only for honor 9.
We should know more in first month of 2018.
Go with custom but all having one or the other bug. so if you want, can switch to custom or stay back with stock. BTW, it may get Oreo. Not confirming anything though.

seems like honor 7x will get oreo update first.. there is no still clear statement from honor CEO mentioning about honor 6x's Oreo update..
