So do we need to care about the Bensen approved list of A to C cables?
Does the issue with A to C on the Nexus still apply to the Note 7?

Hi everyone........ if you haven't done so already, please check this (and maybe others) detailed review which shows that not all USB type C chargers and adapters that we will buy for the Nexus 6P and other devices are created or function equally. I already purchased one of the items (a micro USB female to USB- type C male adapter........ the kind that would allow you to keep your old micro USB adapters and car chargers in service) that is poorly rated in this review. http://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A25GROL6KJV3QG/review/ref=pdp_new
Does the oneplus C to A adapter pass?

I've been checking Benson's reviews regularly for a short micro to type-c cable for my ha2. It's been a few weeks since I last checked, but I haven't found anything confirmed to be specifications compliant. I'll check later tonight.
Yeah I haven't found no information either..
Came here looking for the same answer? I can't get my OPPO HA-2 to work with my Nexus 5x. I bought a Micro to USB C converter cable but it doesn't seem to work. Might be due to specific wiring for USB OTG.
Has anyone here had luck?
Hi, I couldn't get my OPPO HA-2 and Nexus 6P working with converters. I found a thread in reddit pointing to a USB C to Micro USB by Anker (Anker USB-C to Micro USB Cable (3.3ft) for USB Type-C Devices Including the new MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nokia N1 Tablet and More - $7.99 on Amazon) and ordered it last week. Just wanted to let everyone know that it works perfectly (definitely stereo, and not mono like some users reported).

Hey, it was working? I also tried a cable type c micro usb, but I have not earned anything, support oppo told me that the type c is not supported.
I am looking for a usb-c "Y" style adapter that will work with my Nexus 6P so that i can transfer data while also charging my device. Ive looked on amazon and have not been able to find a compatible one. Does anyone know of one that is compatible with my device and can also charge it? Also, does anyone know of a usb-c dock that is capable of also charging the Nexus 6P?
Thanks for the help.

I believe Y adapters for type C devices are prohibited by USB specifications. If you are using a desktop with an open PCI slot, try something like this: http://amzn.com/B015JYYZNY
Not all usb-c cables are created the same. Benson Leung at Google has reviewed numerous cables, and there are quite a few non-compliant cables. These cables can result in weird, or even dangerous behavior.
Recommended USB Type-C Legacy Cables: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/KF89JCHI0KT4/ref=pdp_new_wl (Benson's Amazon Profile)
You guys can also follow his Google+: https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung/posts
If you don't want to risk anything make sure you always use the compliant cables/adapters
Do we get USB 2.0 or 3.0?? I don't know what cable to get (I am in Europe if that will make a difference with model and such).
Need long 2ft 3ft cables
good quality

Snapdragon Note 7 Variants have USB Type C with USB 3.1.
Exynos Note 7 Variants have USB Type C with USB 2.0
Thanks for this thread. I plan on keeping the original cables wrapped for whenever I sell the phone, so this thread helps with good alternatives.
What about adapters? I just bought these hoping they will work fine. Planning to use my existing cables and will be keeping one in my keychain for when I'm at a place where there's only micro usb.

If I only want to use them for charging does it matter which one I get? I'll just use the original samsung one for data transfer at home but I need charging cables for my office and car.

No. There should be an adapter that babe with your s8+ that turns the USB standard end of your s8+ charging cable into a USB type c connector. I think it requires the use of the stock cable to work.
Although I have not tried it the way you suggested yet.

I tried using that software when I came from my Nexus 6p and went to a note 7, it didn't work for me. They may have updated it, but it said the Nexus phones aren't compatable
Weird. I used a regular USB C cable to connect my Pixel XL to my S8+ and it worked fine. Same when I switched from the Nexus 6P to the Pixel XL.
