Hi,
I am trying to view live videos from MoneyControl android app on LENOVO Tab 2 A10-70. It throws an error to install Mx player. However, even after installing Mx player it does not work and throws the same error.
Do I have to install additional codec or get paid version of it?
Thanks.

This sounds like more of a question for the developers of "MoneyControl" if they are failing to detect MX Player's presence.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I am not able to view live video though Google Chrome. using the same tablet I believe it internally uses MX player - please correct me if I'm wrong.
Live video sites:
moneycontro llive (please google search - it does not allow me to post link)
ndtv live (please google search - it does not allow me to post link)
It looks like Mx player is not installed correctly on the tablet.
Do you know how to fix this issue?
Thanks
Does MX Playe work if you try to launch it by itself? If MX Player is able to launch itself as a standalone app, then the problem likely isn't with MX Player. Again, you should also go ask MoneyControl to see if they can help as well.
P.S. you can still post links if you remove the URL tags around them.

This is not a problem for me - I can use the ad supported version.
I'm just mentioning that it happens.
Device Manufacturer & Model : Kogan Agora Smart TV
Android Version : V4.2.1
Rom Info : Build: Konka/full_konka_6369_AP/konka_6369_AP:4.2.1/JOP40D/V2.0.0:userdebug/dev-keys
Detailed Problem Description : When using the pro version of MX Player or nightly build, the TV does not remember the default media player (MX Player) and asks to choose the player again when playing the same filetype.
.
Steps to reproduce the problem :
Load the pro version, play media, select MX Player, select always use MX Player.
It asks to choose the player again when playing the same filetype.
Load the ad version, play media, select MX Player, select always use MX Player.
It remembers that MX Player is the default player and doesn't ask again for that filetype.
When I reload the Pro version - it doesn't remember the selection again.
It's the same with all filetypes.

Both are almost same except ad modules & License verification system.

Yes I am, I've been back and forward between pro and ad supported for different versions and it's repeatable.
I even reset the machine because I thought something was FUBAR.

When i install the Pro version there is only that version on the TV - it doesn't allow two different versions. Is that what you meant?

Uninstall Free version
From Application manager open MX Player Pro info & clear the default (if enabled)
Just try to open anyfile & select mx player pro as always.
Close the video
open the mx player pro app info from application manager & check whether clear defaults button is re enabled again or not.

It's a locked down customised Android - there is no application manager with that feature. Only an install/uninstall manager app. And google play.
When I upgrade the free version then it remembers the default media player and uses MX Player free.
When I load the Pro version then it asks which media player I should use and doesn't remember the choice.
Place a hold on this thread - I've tested again, and instead of loading my saved .XML settings
I configured the changes from a fresh install of V1.7.38 Pro release and it is behaving as it should.
I haven't changed the codec settings and others that I usually alter - but I'll test further and report back.
@ktsamy
Please delete this thread - the issue has not reappeared after configuring MX player manually, without using a saved XML file.
Thanks
Hello guys,
after yesterday's upgrade of MX PLayer Pro to version 1.8.4 i'm not able play videos via DLNA anymore. I tried reinstall application, restart phone, clear settings of MX Platyer, but without success. I'm using latest BubbleUPnP, and also latest Serviio DLNA server. Also, with another player (VLC) is everything ok (so from my point of view is issue with MX PLayer). My phone is Nexus 5, latest stock Android 6.0.1. Any suggestion, what can be a rootcause?
thanks a lot

I can confirm that there is indeed a bug with the newest version. The application crashes when you try to stream a video. Local files are working okay. Reviewers on Google Play also say the same thing. You can revert to the previous version or wait for the fix.
HTC M9 stock Android 6.0
Also got this problem using intent to start the stream. See here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-1-8-0-alpha-test-t3239819/post68168410
New update is being rolled out by the developer to fix the 1.8.4 regressions. It may take some time reflect in Google Play. Just wait for 1-2hrs.

Hi,
I hope this is the correct place to post this if not please advise where it should go.
I'm trying to use MX Player Pro as the External Player for Emby on my Android device, MX Player Pro plays the files fine when online, but there is an option to download files for offline viewing. When I try playing these with MX Player I receive a "can't play this link", I've contacted Emby and they state it's because the App (MX Player Pro in this instance), doesn't support Android storage access framework, I explained that MX Player Pro works ok with offline files using the YATSE App, but Emby support suggest they are probably hacking the true file URL rather than using SAF.
I'm not a developer and hence do not fully understand the differences but would really like to use MX Player Pro as the offline player for Emby, please can you comment and confirm if there's anything that can be done to get this working?
Regards,
Bob

That's weird. MX Player supports more schemes than any others. We have tried Emby ourself. But, it seems that download function needs premium subscription.
Kindly collect a bug report from MX Player help menu after the error (make sure that you selected save to file) & share with us here. We will check it out.

In the newer android versions third party apps can only collect the logs from their own apps. If you are still concerned about the privacy, Kindly send the bug report to [email protected] along with the information about the issue.

My device is on android 7.0 and since last two beta updates from playstore, MX disappeared from the player list when I try to play the network stream.
It still shows up when playing the video stored in the device, but not when the video is a network stream.
This issue happens with v.1.10.12 and 1.10.13 so I installed 1.10.9 and it works now.
Hopefully this issue will be fixed in the next version.
Same here. Android 7.1.1

There weren't any changes in this regard. If you meant that MX Player is not listed while opening video links on Chrome, it is an internal change on the Chrome. It uses it's own mediaplayer instead of asking you to select the activity (or app) to handle the link. If it is not supported, it directly starts downloading the file. Similarly, some other social apps (like Whatsapp, Telegram) has started using the same in the recent time. Since we do not have any controls on their app, we are also helpless on this

Hmm I don't think it's the change on the chrome. All the other players such as vlc, kodi and all the other player kind apps installed on my phone still show up, and even MX player v.1.10.9 working fine. Only MX player v.1.10.12 and 1.10.13 disappeared. ( i've just updated to 1.10.15 to see if there's any difference but unfortunately this version doesn't show up on the list either.)
And I was not trying to open the stream link on chrome. It was a kind of cloud app(no recent update) and have been using it with no issues until v.1.10.12.

That's strange.
Kindly make sure that "Play media links" in the settings > general is enabled in MX Player.
If it is already enabled, Can you pls share more information with us like the name of the cloud app, version, device details, etc? We will try to reproduce it in our end and get it fixed for you.

MX Player fails to recognize intent from other apps
Hi, I am an Android developer and I have been using MX player as a video player for my app for 3 years now. My app has HLS links that I pass to MX Player via intent. But since the last two updates, MX player has stopped recognizing that intent, and ActivityNotFoundException is thrown in my app. I have around 10 million app users and most of them rely on MX player to play HLS links from my app. Please look into this matter at the earliest. Hoping to hear from you soon. Here is the code I have used in my app to launch MX player:
Code:
Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW);
intent.setPackage(getMXPlayerPackage(context)); //here i check which package mx player is installed (paid or free) and then return the corresponding package
intent.setDataAndType(Uri.parse(uri), "video/*");
startActivity(intent);

As you can see in the title, the subtitle shortcut is gone in my mx player android app after I updated it. The show I am watching already have subtitles with it and only needs activation from the shortcut and don't need an online subtitles download. Please fix this mx player devs. Your app was literally better than other video players, that's why I'm using it.

We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused. Unfortunately, this is caused by an android platform bug on Android 5.x. Request you to update the app to 1.13.2, and it should fix the issues. If the update is not yet showing up for you, you can download the same from our website http://mx.j2inter.com/download and install manually.
Thank You!
