Samsung S7 can't boot into download mode - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Ok, I bought a galaxy s7 from my friend, because he was getting a new phone, but I discovered that wifi wasn't working at all, so I thought it had to do something with the firmware and I decided to flash the rom with odin, with a newer version of the firmware.
This is where all my problems started, when I restarted my phone for the first time I noticed that the startup/booting animation was some weird ****, not like the usual one (the samsung logo) but was a weird loud animation with the letters of MTK, in that moment what came to my mind was that I just could be a custom rom or just a custom boot animation, so I didn't gave it too much attention, I continued to do what I was gonna do and tried to boot my phone into download mode with the classic normal method , Volum Down+Home+Power, when I tried this apparently It didn't work, I could stay there pressing the buttons for like 5 minutes and nothing would happen, and once I would release them, the phone would turn on and do the weird animation and boot like normal, at this point I was already worried so I proceded to Root my phone with KingRoot and install an app to manually boot my phone into download mode, it didn't worked. After hours of searching for a solution I found about ADB and I did all the steps to boot my phone from there, still nothing, when I typed the "abd reboot download mode" or something like that, the phone would just restart and do the ****ing weird animation again, so I tried booting into recovery mode and when I tried to do it, an android robot would appear laying on the ground with his chest open, and the words "No command". When I would press the home button the phone would react and send me to the recovery mode, normal.
So I'm begging you guys for help, since I don't know what to try now.
It looks like the download mode or maybe the firmware is broken, and I can barely do something without the download mode, pls help.
What I've tried so far:
-Basic 3 buttons method (can't remove battery, it's an s7)
- ADB method
- ADB fastboot method
- Vol Up+Vol Down+Home+Power
- Can't do anything with Odin since I need download mode
- Tried to install twrp recovery mode from ADB but says that It didn't found the file
If someone knows a solution for this please tell me what I can do. Sorry for bad english, right now I'm kinda exhausted because I've been trying over and over methods for like about 6+ hours

i had the same problem, phone is password pretected and cannou use factory reset and also phone wownt boot in download mode

No idea really but just to be sure. Did you try switching off phone completely and then trying 3 button combo for download mode?
Also post that **** boot animation logo as that might help us figure what you have flashed on phone.

bricked s7 edge HELP!

hello
i fear i may have f##cked my phone and am panicking!
i installed a custom rom and the installation seemed to go well but aftetr when i rebooted it seemed to stay on the loading screen for ever even after multiple reboot attempts. anyway i messed around with it (not remembering what i done) and everytime i boot after it shows the s7 edge text it immediately loads a red screen. i have tried to get into recovery by holding home, power and vol up but again boots to red screen. i can boot into downloading mode by holding home, power, vol down.
so ive done some searching on google and it points to i need to flash stock rom with odin whilst in download mode. i got the stock rom for my model and attempting to flash but after sboot.img it fails. (screenshot attached).
please someone help!

That error means it's the wrong firmware. Flash the stock that was on it before you messed about with custom ROM.
Also please read ALL instructions when flashing custom ROMs, some take 15 minutes on first boot.
UPDATE
the error only happened as i wasnt flashing the very latest stock rom. downloaded from samsung website and now is working fine
phew

Unable to boot, enter flash mode or enable USB debugging after 'succesful' flash

I use this forums a lot for info but in this case i can't find any leads of whee to go with this, so wondering if someone can chip in some ideas?
I flashed a ROM via flashtool but wasn't happy with it, so i thought i'd just go back to stock and so used flash tool AKA emma to flash one of the options given there.
First attempt to flash it said "flash failed" or something like that and had the "flashing failed, connect to computer" note in the phone when booting it. (I'm sort of making up the terms, not that much into the tech ). Anyway, i tried flashing the same FW again and this time it went through really quick being 'completed' in a few seconds.
Now when i try to boot it gets stuck in the 'Sony' logo. Can go into Fastboot but no Flash Mode (nothing happens using the vol down key), and USB debugging seems to be off now as well.
Emma only works in Flashmode so can't do anything with that. Flashtool doesn't offer anything useful in Fastboot and Xperia Companion recognises the phone when in Fastboot but asks that i unlock the screen and enter MTP...
Any help of where i can go with this?
Thanks
P.s. While keeping buttons pressed randomly it went once into flash mode, but trying to flash a ROM with flashtool it got stuck at "reding device data" and i haven't been able to enter the mode again. Is there an alternative key press combination that i stumbled on by chance? I think i just kept vol up and power held for a while and let go at a random number of phone vibrations
Just tried: Flashed twrp via fastboot and then rebooted into recovery. Same thing. It still opens to Sony splash screen and stays there
Ok, i'm kind of talking to myself here, but mild success and something that might help someone.
Managed to get back in flash mode. Don't know if it's a fluke, unique to this phone, or how it's actually meant to work, but the sequence is:
From the freezed up splash screen, and the USB connected, press and keep pressed power+vol up (hard restart/shutdown)
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it restarts. Keep pressing
You get a triple vibration, if you let go here it shuts down. Keep pressing
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it starts in fastboot. Keep pressing
You get a second single vibration, if you let go here it starts in flash mode.
Possibly a fluke but don't want to have to try again!
Anyway, i managed to flash the last working firmware and it's all good, yet this is the unwanted one. So issue is i still need to downgrade the phone to 7.1.1

I Flashed My Note 20 Ultra With Recovery.img And Now Its Stuck On Orange State "Bootloader Unlocked" Warning Message!

Ok Guys So I Shouldn't Have Done This But I Used Fastboot To Flash Recovery And I think I Did It Wrong. It Said "ok" And Finished And I Rebooted Phone It Resetted And Then Stuck On The Orange State Bootloader Message. I Do The Recovery Mode And Goes Black And Nothing Is Responsive For a While, Sometimes Longer Than Others. This Happens If I Start Phone Normal Or Try Fastboot Or Download.
Because Of My Mistake I Cannot Connect To Pc Software And Im Not Sure Of What I Can Do. I Feel Like Im Not Going To Like The Answer For This But I Got To Take The Blame For This.
Btw i Have A Samsung galaxy Note 20 Ultra Sm-N986u
I think your phone is hard bricked
so you can't get fastboot using volume up+power or via adb?
rescue from manufacturer site pos or just device not being recognised?
It isn't hard bricked it's just way of Samsung trying to make life of simple people more difficult, people who paid for Samsung phones lots of money.
To sort that screen issues what you can surely do is,
Simply press volup + voldown buttons at the same time, no matter if you're on that orange screen or whatever just press those those two buttons at the same time and keep pressing them while you connect your phone to pc. you will boot into download mode. Then flash stock firmware for your phone. After stock of flashed Reboot and start your phone, go to developer options see if oem unlock option is there if it is then oem unlock it if it is not then go back to settings manually change date to year ago, then go to updates disable auto update, connect to WiFi, and press on update several times untill window shows up saying no updates, then go to developer options you should see oem unlock, unlock it.
Then boot into download mode and make sure you have working copy of recovery.
And make sure you follow instructions of whoever recovery you installed on how to boot into recovery. I have S20 plus and too had troubles with it, and the only working recovery for my phone is twrp customised. To boot into it after flashing recovery from odin auto reboot disabled I pressed voldown and power, USB cable connected, then after screen goes off I changed from voldown to volup while kept pressing power button and cable connected. Orange screen with warning showed up for 5 sec I kept pressing and it bottled to twrp and then I was able to install custom rom beyond rom and while installing in aroma I was able ti choose option to remove orange screen.
That's it.
I ran into the same error. I mistakenly loaded twrp's recovery into userdata instead of ap section. The phone was stuck at the orange screen and nothing was happening whatever i pressed. I waited till the battery to dry out and with 0% battery, i directly connected to pc and was able to get into download mode. Then i flashed stock and everything is now back to normal.

Question Phone bootloop at recovery mode.

Hi. After installing ROM from TWRP and restart, i got this as a bootloop. The problem is, it cannot boot into recovery despite the recovery word at the bottom left. So it looped on this page over and over. I tried all the known buttons and i cannot find anything similiar to my problem elsewhere. Anyone can help?

A bit more information , like phone model , how and which version you flashed.
otherwise pull battery (or wait to drain) charge and reboot back to download mode and reflash recovery.
this time making sure you do it right.
atleast ths is my procedure on samsung phones

Hi. Phone model Realme C2. TWRP flashing Realme UI. I think i made the mistake of formatting first or something before installing the ROM. I did took off the battery cable. Just that when the phone is powered on thru the cable, it also powered into the pic shown, which is a bootloop but can't boot into recovery. I believe this is an extremely rare situation. I'd be happy if it can boot into adb, then i can at least install back the original phone ROM.
Sometimes i managed to press and hold (vold down power) at the right time. on samsung phones
(right after it screen goes black i think) to get in to download mode during some bootloops.
But i am unfamiliar with fastboot mode i think your phone uses.
Try holding the physical buttons needed for you phones downloadmode/fastbootmode
while it is off and then plug the cable in ? just a guess though.

Hi. Nope. It will still boot into the screen on the pic, and it will loop over and over again. I took off the battery cable but when i plug the USB cable, it will also reboot into the pic with bootloop.
I felt that this is a very rare case of the phone screwing up. My initial intention was to install a light rom so i can use the extra space (even after root, App2SD doesnt work). Sigh.
if you remove the cable and let it drain , when it is off and you hold correct buttons for download/fastboot mode
and then plug the cable in it goes it to recovery mode ?
and keep trying press and hold different time in the loop , around the point of black screen/reboot point,
just before/at/and after.

Sorry, nope. It will boot into the Realme Logo and the recovery mode word on bottom left as shown in the pic. And then bootloop into the same thing again. It cannot enter recovery mode. I tried every combination of buttons with the battery attached and without. I believe the recovery section is erased, or it might be in another part of the memory but inaccessible.

are you sure you are trying button combinations for download/fastboot mode (not recovery).
we know recovery is fubared. so is system most probably.
you need to get in to download/fastboot to reflash recovery or stock firmware .
(hold buttons till you see download/fastboot , not just push and let go)
try correct button combination at all the different times in the loop.
and i had a siimmular problem once with a phone turning itself on and looping,
(turned out to be a glitchy power button , try fiddling with that , excersize it to get to unbind if it is)

Yes sir, i did. Tried all button combination at different times. The only thing that worked is the on/off button. When it is on, i press and hold a long time, and let go when the screen is off to turn off. And to turn it on, i press and hold a long time until the screen is on to turn on.
As noted, i might have screw up the installing 3rd party ROM process. I screwed up many times earlier, but i managed to reinstall back the original ROM because it was in adb. And now it isn't. Phones in my country aren't cheap, so if possible, i'd like to save this phone. My initial purpose to install a 3rd part ROM is to make use of the extra internal memory space (i rooted initially but i wasn't able to use App2SD).
so when you hold the power button and it turns off. then you need to use the
combination of buttons for fast boot to turn it on , not just power button .
make sure you have the correct buttons , double , tripple check with the correct buttons
and when to let them go.
