[Completed] Malicious code in rooting process - XDA Assist

Hello,
Newb to rooting.. Just a question, how do we know rooting is safe and there is no backdoor/trojan injected during the rooting process? A million thanks to all the developers and appreciate your time and effort but does the source code for all these rooting methods get uploaded somewhere and reviewed? Just heard some stories from other exploits online about malicious code in the apps. Just being paranoid I guess, no offense intended!

[Completed] how to root i-wireless Sprint Express M650

I found rooting instructions for the M650, but the root did not work. I am unsure if the rooting process is different on phones from i-wireless, or if I should look for some different rooting instructions. Maybe the Obama phones just can't be rooted, or should I say can't be rooted by me
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

[Completed] Galaxu S5- Do I Need To Downgrade To 4.4.2 To Root?

I've been attempting to root for a while now with no success. Is rolling back a viable option or is there another way? Currently i'm on 4.4.4. Please provide detailed instructions if there is another way. I've rooted my previous phone with towelroot, but it did not work on this phone. I'll update if i need to list any other info.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Your first step should be to visit your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5. They are the experts on your device. Then look through and read some of the threads in the general forum. You'll probably find most of your answers there. If you don't, then go to the Q&A forum and look through this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697270. And if you still can't find an answer then ask in that forum.
Good luck and welcome to XDA.

[Completed] ROOT? I don't know if so.

Greetings to all. I have a dilemma. With the HTC 626s - MetroPCS, all the many threads that I have read about this have not shown me any updated information for at least a month as of now for a known root for this phone. I believe I am in the correct place. I need to know whether the program Sunshine has been used before on this phone successfully or not. Aside from that, nobody has really spoken about this phone lately as far as this topic. Additionally, websites claim to know of a correct way through this phone and its all is bogus information because those root methods will not work (for my phons). Therefore I am reaching out to all of you in the community to please direct me to a successful root method.. Thank you all and have a good weekend.

[Completed] Need help with rooting basics

hello, I am a new member. I have a couple questions about rooting my phone and the basics. I understand how to root a phone I have done several so far, but my last phone got bricked because I know nothing about recovery. I am searching for a tutorial on the bare basics of reading, recovery, roms, and kernels. Basically a tutorial explaining what they are and how / why to do them. I have searched this forum but could not find what I'm looking for I apologize if it is already in here and I apologize if this is posted in the wrong spot please move this so. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also searching for the best setup for my new phone and LG G Stylo by metro (LGMS631). something that will give me the most speed and usable storage space. thank you again, Nikkon
Hi,
As far as info and asking questions about your device, here's the place for that,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lg-g-stylo
The best way to learn about the basics is searching on specific topics and read, read and read some more. Here's one good source of info to get you started, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/ref-understanding-basics-rooting-s3-gt-t2362743
That is for a Samsung device, so not all info will apply to your device. But reading through some threads in the first link I gave you should help enlighten you. :good:
Good luck!

[Completed] How to patch kernel to root

Apparently the Samsung Galaxy J3 (SM-j320a) has some kernel stuff that prevents rooting.
I asked in the samsung opensource site and now they posted the source code for my device yesterday.
So, I'm going to be the first guy to root this. (probably.)
So how do I remove the anti-root stuff / Make the source rooted?
