[Completed] Is my phone hard-bricked? ACER LIQUID Z630s - XDA Assist

Yesterday, I have tried to unlock bootloader, it succeed but volume controls and power doesn't respond so I remove and return the battery, (before i did things I have read some articles but unfortunately, the articles i have read did not warned me that it will erase my storage. until i saw the article on internet titled "PSA: Make sure you Reboot after unlocking your nexus or gpe devices bootloader") after i unlock my bootloader the twrp says error: unable to mount '/data' , unable to mount storage and unknown mtp type 1. I tried to wipe but failed , the problem keeps occuring. and i made a stupid decision , I re locked the bootloader, because i didn't know that relocking would make me lose my adb connection. i also tried to put the backup on sd card, but it can't restore partritions as the error keeps occuring. the current situation of my phone is that when i normally boot it, it stucks on first boot , turns off the screen for a moment, then turns it on. then leads me automatically to twrp recovery.
1. I downloaded a stock rom but the problem is that it's in .rar
2. if i flash the stock rom will the problem still persist?
Help me guys please, thanks in advance

Messed up my phone... sort of. Help!!

Hey guys,
Finally decided to flash a new rom (NOS M7) and kernel (KillX) onto my phone, I loaded up the zips onto my sd card and just flashed it using recovery only. I didn't flash boot.img in bootloader/fastboot. I know its stupid, its my fault that I was tired and that I haven't really flash roms since mid 2011 on my sensation after settling on a virtuous rom.
Now my wifi doesn't work (haven't been playing with it much - could be many more things that don't work), but the main problem is that I found out adb doesn't work for my phone anymore when i tried to flash boot.img again. Sure, I can still use my phone as a external drive, but that's about it. Can't find my phone though 'adb devices' when the phone is switched on normally, in fastboot usb, and in recovery. However, I can still sideload a .zip file in recovery. that works.
In fastboot, I get 'This device cannot start. (Code 10) - A request for the USB BOS descriptor failed.' I've tried downloading the newest drivers from htc, updated my sdks, installed/uninstalled htc sync manager - which always came up with 'unable to sync with device that is locked, please unlock device' or something like that even though my device's screen was unlocked.
You probably figured out that I'm not that advanced with technology as some of you peeps out there.
What do you think I should be doing now?
I feel like I have half a phone working. :crying:
Cheers,
Reece
Which variant do u have ... X920d or e ??
Also it might be best to return to stock first and ten start over again ... Also provide the hboot version from the boot loader screen
I have the x920d,
here's the info.
Hboot - 1.39.0000
Radio 3A.21.306.10
s-on.
What do you mean by return to stock, as in relocking my phone etc... but how? I can't even use adb. I can't really flash roms properly either.
Anyone...??
Try the ADB on another computer, it should work.
I'm still getting no luck with adb on another computer.
What else can i do?
I can even use adb .
Hope that help.

Note: That guy did with x920e ROM but I think the process should be same, good luck.
Sorry that i took a while to reply.
I just tried going into recovery and wiping everything as per the link,
i can't seem to wipe cache and system. weird. that's what i get for trying to format system or cache
'Formatting /system(or cache)...
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p32
Error formatting /system(or cache)!'
I can now flash boot.img, but somehow that won't mean anything until I can wipe my phone.
Can I try wiping it in bootloader?

[Q] TF300 TWRP bootloop 10.4.4.25

I have read many posts around about the problem with wiping my tablet within the bootloader menu but unfortunately it was after the fact of doing so. I know my post is similar to most but what I found odd was that my bootloader was listed as 10.4.4.25. Am I in the same boat as everyone else having basically a bricked tablet? I can access adb mode, fastboot which says it successfully has written a file but does nothing when rebooted just hangs. I can send files to my tablet but when I go to install it states it failed. I have TWRP 2.4.1.0 which states unable to mount cache...etc. The device is unlocked. Is there any way to fix partitions or allow it to mount a file system, I did update to the newest Cleanrom, can't remember what I didn't like about the flash before I wiped it. Any help would be great and if you want to just state I messed up thats more then welcome too. Thanks

[Q] Is my phone bricked?

Hello Guys!
Recently i received my used Motorola Moto G. Phone was nice, I was using it like every teenager, instagram snapchat etc. But last night i wanted to install rom on phone. Saw thread about installing everything, root rom etc. with 1 program. I tought it will be nice, so i downloaded it, run, and there is a problem. It was command line tool, everything gone right, there was messeage about clicking any button to continue, I did it and then my phone restarted, but there was like normal 5.0.2 android not 5.1 what was saying guy who wrote thread about that program. So i thought that i will do everything step by step, unlocked bootloader, installed recovery and when i first time opened recovery from bootloader menu it had problem with mounting data partition. I was trying to install firmware roms, but it had problems with downgrading bootloader. Downloaded 5.0.2 firmware .xml.zip file, it gone ok, i mean there wasn't a problem with motoboot.img, and at every single command there was only okay, there wasn't failed, just had 2 problems on phone screen, it was saying "hab check failed for boot" and "hab check failed for recovery". After typing every single command to fastboot and restarting phone always phone was stucked on boot screen, i mean on 4.4 it was stuck on messeage about unlocking bootloader, on 5.0.2 it was stucked on that 4 colors orbs flying around the screen. Then i was trying to open my stock recovery, but it was always broken, opened android with warning sign on it. When i was installing custom recovery that had problems with mounting /command /log /last_log /last_install, and when i was trying to mount data it couldn't mount it, I was trying to format /data and /data/media, it was always going ok and then i could mount data partition, but my phone was still stuck on boot screen. I was trying to install custom recovery again but it had same problem, just opened android with warning sign. And there is a question, what can I do to make my telephone working.
I'm sorry for mistakes, but my english is not the best
Try reading this thread here and see if that helps.

Can't mount data? [PLEASE HELP]

Hello
Really bad morning.
Woke up to find my OPO (was running COS 12.1 with TWRP), which I had plugged in to charge overnight, stuck on an android screen which said please enter your password. I entered my Google account password and then the next screen says, decryption unsuccessful. "Your password is correct but your data is corrupted. You need to factory reset your device and once you reboot you will have an opportunity to retrieve data backed up with your Google account".
I tried to reboot, just to make sure, and the same set of screens reappeared.
I tried to boot into recovery. The 'teamwin' screen kept flashing to no avail.
Entered fastboot. Flashed recovery, TWRP-2.8.7.0-bacon.
Tried to factory reset but the prompt flashed an error as follows:
'E: Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer' and then a series of others, but " could not mount '/data' " was repeated over and over
I'm still stuck here. How to get out of this situation?
PS: When I try to look at the mount options in recovery, the internal storage is labelled as 0 MB. This is scary.
I'm more screwed than you are. Twrp 2870 does not properly support encryption. Great to know an official release is that broken, right? Flash an older twrp, I believe 2860 or 61 are what you want. Try to reflash your cm zip. You're going to have to resetup your device but your internal sd should be fine, it says 0 mb because it's not decrypted so it can't read it. Then you should be okay... Well, except I've never seen that screen you described in the first paragraph. But that usually related to apps, not your internal sd. Good luck. I've accidentally erased all my system and data so I can't adb flash and can't flash from internal sd. My last hope before reformating everything and losing my pictures is to install via USB OTG. Which you could also do.
Good luck

Hey, I just found out that there is a way to flash a system image via fastboot! This is why I buy unlocked developer minded phones! If only OP hadn't dropped the ball on the OP2 (I actually got an invite which I didn't even use).
Anyway, go here: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...lashing-recovery-roms-kernels-rooting.291274/
and scroll down to "The Bad" In ORANGE text: 2. Recovering from no OS installed and no access to TWRP, fastboot does work.
Since TWRP is basically useless for us, I followed the instructions. I flashed everything EXCEPT the userdata img. AND, instead of flashing the extracted recovery, I just reflashed TWRP 2861 which I have on the PC.
Unfortunately! All my pics are gone. Pretty sure removing encryption with TWRP (before reading it was broken) did it. Try installing a good ROM via USB OTG and let me know if that saves your internal sd. I'd love to know for the future.

Samsung Nexus S is stuck in "Google" bootloop

Hi guys, I'm normally the one who reads these forums, not starts them, so i'm in pretty desperate help.
I have a Samsung Nexus S phone that somehow got stuck in a bootloop after my dad attempted to fix the problem by wiping everything he could from the recovery; cache, system, data, factory reset. I am able to access fastboot (obviously). In fastboot mode, the only 4 options it gives are POWER OFF, REBOOT, RECOVERY, REBOOT BOOTLOADER. None of these options leads to any progress. Only one that makes sense is to click and run recovery. When recovery loads, i can:
Reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from sd card
wipe/factory reset
wipe cache partition
I recently rooted and custom ROMed my Galaxy J7 Pro, and as you experts may know it wasn't too easy finding the correct files or even the support for it.
I know you have to have developer options enabled and OEM and USB Debugging as the prereqs for rooting, but this phone has nothing. I'm not sure what to do. The bootloader is locked and I obviously can't enable developer options. I guess where I'm stuck is how i can flash a custom recovery like twerp for a phone that has a locked bootloader that can't be unlocked through developer options.
As I'm writing this, i was thinking, can i prepare an SD card with the lollipop OS for the nexus to install and run on. Ive already wiped the internals and cache of the phone, meaning there is nothing on it?
Help would be appreciated, bringing back a phone that has the potential (working hardware) to run would be great.
Just do a manual restore using the google factory images (google them, first result usually and a VERY user friendly page, thanks google!).
Don't use the script, just reformat everything via fastboot, then manually flash the images to their respective partitions.
"cd [path to unzipped images]"
"fastboot format /[partition] ext4"
"fastboot flash /[partition] [path to image]"
and so on and so on. Then after, "fastboot reboot". I assume you've found a fix by now but maybe someone else will stumble on this. Keep in mind, I'm writing this from memory and with no drivers or way to test this on my mac, my Nexus S is coming in the mail soon so take what I say with a grain of salt and try to double check the commands. For the most part however, they should be correct. format, reflash, reboot. All you should have to do.

I have the same problem.I know this was 4 years ago but as a noob I find that guides tend to assume greater levels of knowledge than I have. Trying to bypass FRP as I think this is what is causing the "system error" message when I try to access play store or Google plus. I haven't even been able to unlock bootloader or root phone . In fact I find "fastboot" and ADB downloads a mystery? How to get them to work?
