lost signal moto xt1039, partition backup request - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've lost cellular signal in my xt1039 device. Tried many things including reflash firmware/ flash modem... with no permanent solution.
At last fellow brother @lost101 suggested to flash some partitions stated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/story-lost-recovery-imei-0-t3414511 as a solution. But by searching in google i cant find any.
Can any of you be kind enough to take backup of "dhob" "fsc" "misc" and "hob" partitions from your xt1039 device and by sharing those help me fix my phone? I'll be greatfull forever.
Backing up partition is easy, just install partition backup in your rooted phone. Select raw partition image from setting menu. And its done.

I'm posting this comment just to promote this post, please help me with those partitions if you can.

As far I know, these partition's contain very sensitive data unique to the device. So do not upload these files, and do not flash these partitions on another device. For example, it could cause you to have the same IMEI as someone else, or a multitude of other issues.
As for the actual issue, do your IMEI show up correctly in Android, or is it only the signal that is broken?

My imei is intact. Its just my cellular signal that doesn't work. And its not only my issue, there are many with the same problem but no solution. So here I am requesting those partition to try as a solution as stated in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/story-lost-recovery-imei-0-t3414511 . I've tried everything else that i could find.
In my country wifi network isn't that available. So without cellular network a phone here is as good as dead. Can you suggest any solution?

Flashing those partitions most likely won't fix your network signal, and could make the problem much worse. In the OP you say you flashed the stock modem, so what method did you use to do this? Did you get the stock firmware and run:
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn

did those, tried flashing full firmware and downgrading too... nothing worked. Any other suggestions?

Usually factory firmware would fix it, so it could be a hardware issue. Under what conditions did you lose signal - did you flash a ROM?

[Q] Imei Issues - In desperate need of rescue session, have EFS backup

Hi fellas,
my opo gave out after I switched to an f2fs filesystem and flashed AK kernel, both lollipop... I know dum.
but I ran into the problem where it doesnt recognize my sim card anymore so I checked whether I still had an IMEI and it shows nothing, neither does baseband.
funny enough wifi and bluetooth seem to work, I have backups of modemst1 and modemst2 but flashing them doesnt seem to work, I tried the nightmare fix already and i'm feeling pretty lost now.
Please can anyone help me out?
Same issue here
I'm able to use WiFi properly, however, there is no sim detected and no IMEI either.
I have multiple EFS backups on TWRP as well as the modemst1 and modemst2 files.
Even after restoring the EFS backups, it doesn't help.
Try finding system image and flash it via fastboot
Or tool.
But it will lose all data so be careful and try backing up on your pc.
Sometimes just flashing original system image can bring them back. But don't mess up too much wid it. Bcz i have dead note 2 bcz of that.
So try to flash system image full may ne it will help.

Follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-brickloop-audio-fx-fc-efs-corrupt-t2879061
If you have backups of modemst1 and modemst2
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
then
Code:
fastboot flash modemst1 modemst1.bin
fastboot flash modemst2 modemst2.bin
Otherwise you can erase those two partitions then use this if you don't have backups
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
this file (NON-HLOS.bin) is usually found in any CM based ROM by unzipping. These instructions are in the guide I linked so read through that too and attempt the solutions there before attempting these commands, they are meant as a last resort if the others don't work

[Q]XT1031 CDMA CM GPS issue

As you know Moto G will occur GPS issue after flash CM from stock.
GSM/WCDMA user can follow OP to erase modemst1 and modemst2 partition to get recover.
But XT1031, CDMA parameters also stored on these partitions.
Erase modemst partitions will fix GPS but lost CDMA signal.
I have tried to dump modemst1 and modemst2 partition in stock ROM then restore them after CM instillation. After restore, CDMA and GSM all NOT work. Looks like in CM install procedure, CM will make some modification on NVRam and/or modemst. And some critical GPS parameters are corrupted or not read properly.
Does any one know how to fix this without erase modemst partitions?
Thanks in advice.
BTW, I am using XT1031 with SIM slot MOD, which make it to use China Telecom SIM card. I have to do some modification on NVram. But everything works on stock 4.4.4 , so I think the GPS is common issue.

moto xt1543 won't reconise the sim card CM12.1

Hey, so today I was trying to go to stock room and failed, when I got back to the CM12.1 the sim wont be recognized.
I tested with another phone and the sim still works.
I don't really now what to do., I've tried to fastboot erase modemst1
and fastboot erase modemst2, but no success.
I'm really stressed about this

Umm... why would you erase the modem firmware???
You need to get the correct firmware image that matches your boot loader and perform:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
To be honest, your device is in an "unknown state" at this point, I would do a factory reset in the ROM (in Android, not TWRP), then flash the full factory image, boot fully, and make sure everything is working before continuing.

I've found this room, but i'm not sure if my cellphone is LPI23.72-16.4 or LPI23.72.43.
I should flash this room just like i've flashed CM ?

Never change mobile data option to SIM2 !!!
I'm in the same situation with Moto G 3rd gen XT1543 with Andoird 6.0:
I'm using two UK sim's: Three (Sim1) and EE (Sim2).
When I changed the mobile data to Sim2.... THE HELL !!! Sim1 appears in the list but signal is not available anymore.
I tried to switch both ones, and nothing.
I tried the Sim1 in another phone and it works perfectly!
When I take Sim2 off, Sim1 came back to life but just with voice, no data! Plus when I tried to switch mobile data to Sim1 (remember that I take Sim2 off at this moment), it do not ignites mobile for Sim1 anymore.
Conclusion: NEVER switch the mobile data to SIM2 !! Is a black role in the Motorola week software.
I tried everything you could imagine: turn off, enable and disable all possible combinations between sms, mobile data and voice options between both Sim's and nothing !!! Sheet Motorola !!!

Unable to upgrade baseband

XT1541 Android 6.0.1 MPIS24-107-55-2-5
Phone upgraded using @lost101 factory image.
Flashing done manually excluding erase of userdata and upgrade of bootloader.
Everything is working fine, except upgrading of modem partition (NON-HLOS.bin).
If I upgrade modem partition, phone boots, Android starts without issues but, when I enter PIN of SIM and it registers network, after some minutes, phone resets.
To fix the issue, I must restore dd image of previous modem partition.
So, I'm stuck with baseband M8916_2020610.17.03.21.26R OSPREY_EMEA_CUST.
Inspecting in logcat, I see that last messages before reboot are coming from Widewine processes.
Any suggestions?
Keep in mind that I DON'T WANT to factory reset and/or wipe data partition.
Modem stack (NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn, along with clearing modemstX partitions) must be done as a set and must match the kernel... You can't just flash a different baseband, it must match your ROM is stock, although you could try with a third party kernel.
I've cleared modemst1 and modemst2 partitions.
Also, my actual fsg.mbn is the latest.
With original and unchanged NON-HLOS.bin, I've upgraded system to Marshmallow without troubles and I've used various kernels (stock and 3rd party) without issues.
The problem relies only with the newest NON-HLOS.bin after LP. I'm unable to flash ANY of these.

[ROM][8.0.0][STOCK] Stock Android 8.0.0 ROM for Moto E5 Play (James) XT1921-3

I know I'm not the only one who has been having trouble finding the stock firmware for the Moto e5 play xt1921-3 MetroPCS/TMobile variant, code named James, that wasn't posted by @MotoJunkie01 and therefore blocked and undownloadable.
So thanks to @HPLazerJetPrinter1012 who was kind enough to find it on XDA in another section and thanks to @timjames474 for posting it in that thread....
VERY IMPORTANT IMHO THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR IMEI INFORMATION AS SOON AS YOU ROOT YOUR DEVICE, PREFERABLY BEFORE FLASHING A CUSTOM ROM. GOING FROM CUSTOM OREO BACK TO STOCK CAN EASILY ERASE ALL YOUR PHONES IMEI INFO MAKING VOLTE AND 4G AND PHONE INOPERABLE. HAPPENED TO ME AND IT WAS A HUGE P.I.T.A. TO FIX.

Instructions to revert back to stock firmware and make it so that you can get OTA updates again:
To install, extract the zip file in your adb/fastboot directory and then make sure you are properly connected to your computer by running the command
Code:
fastboot devices
Then, once you confirm you are properly connected, just run the following fastboot commands one line at a time, making sure spelling is correct (or copying and pasting to ensure proper spelling):
Code:
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
After this is complete, simply reboot your device, and as long as you did everything right, you should be back on stock firmware with the ability to receive OTA updates.
Flashing a stock recovery, unencrypting your phone, or rooting will make OTA fail, so i recommend waiting to do those things until you are fully updated (unless you don't care about the latest build).
Just to cover my ass, i had nothing to do with the making of these files and I am simply posting well known information for newer users to help them get back to stock.
Therefore, i claim no responsibility for any damage or bricking of your device.
Have a good day friends and if I helped you out, a 'thanks' would be appreciated :good:

Not a problem.... I actually found most of the firmwares that MotoJunkie01 had posted, I might repost his firmware post (copy and paste) and replace the links after i upload them to my own Gdrive, when I have time....

That's a weird Necro-Response. Also updating doesn't fix IMEI, (even though this was over a year ago, they would need an IMEI flasher and the box/numbers found somewhere else)
