Then return it for a replacement, if the Bootloader isn't unlocked(voids warranty) it's a new device so at least should be replaced or repaired.
Sent from my Xperia XA using XDA Labs

Got the same, if phone shutdown by itself on low battery, I have to wait 15 mins with charger plugged. To power on, the phone need a minimal charge to protect battery.

Did you leave it with the charger plugged in for a while?

This is the worst phone I've ever owned, ever!! It caused me so much trouble and headaches with that battery drainage issue (even when it was charging FFS!!!). As well as followed by a permanent shut down afterwards which made me smash it into parts and chuck that junk straight into the trash can.

Hey, I had the same problem with a Wiko after 2 weeks, after sending to warranty 3 times without fixing it, they gave me credit to buy another phone at the store. I got the Xperia XA and after almost two happy years, the same problem appeared. If you get your phone to boot try install an app to measure the charging current. (I installed Ampere). I noticed in mine that the current was sometimes less than 50mAh and other more than 1500mAh depending on the cable position. It still says it's charging but it's actually draining battery because it's consuming more than what the charger is providing. After investigating people suggesting re-soldering the usb port, but since I'm bad with it I just replaced it with one bought online and now it works just fine. Super cheap and easy to do. If it's still on warranty just send it back and hope they are more competent than the ones I went to.

Try replacing the battery
Wait till the battery is at zero when put to charge
Use original charger
And if you really care about your phone, repair it by an authorized Sony phone repairmen

Used Z1c for 3 years, and it's a known issue for battery that's getting old. If your battery is over 1 1/2 years old, especially if you play games, etc., regularly, battery could be going. I've only had XA for a few months, so can't say for sure...

I have a Z1 with that problem. I changed the battery but the issue is still here. After ~80%, battery drops to 0 and phone shuts down. I plug charger for 2-3 minutes and phone says it has ~80% charge. I use it and after 5-6 minutes, battery level drops to 0 again.

Try to change battery, or if your phone is not rooted to repair it with Xperia Companion.

My problem has nothing to do with battery or software, unfortunately :/. It's still here after replacing battery and trying almost all custom roms. Probably mainboard failure.

Charging problem

Hello,
I am using u 11 about 2 weeks. There was no problem but last night i plugged the phone to charger when i woke up it had still %18 power. the graph about battery is down below.
i replugged it and it charged normally
what can causes problem like this? it happened one more time but i didnt care about now it is second time so should i worry about it?
Btw i cleaned the charger and the phone right after first time happened. i think it is not dust problem and also it is 2 week phone.
original adaptor and cable.
you see on the graph it slightly increased at night.

I've had the same problems and I think the internal plug is going bad, I've had mine about 2 months now and don't want to send it in because I don't think it should be going out already, but I might be left with no alternative
My phone charges bad to. With all the different cords I use, they all started to fall out at times. Poor usb port in phone.

2 XZ Premiums died

HI there
In the last two months or so 2 of my G1841's have stopped turning on, both whilst charging just random;ly turned off and didn't turn back on again
I believe there is a fault within the motherboard somewhere that has not yet been found
Luckily this time round I have warranty on the phone so will be receiving a new one for free but it's just extra hassle and very annoying to be without a phone and starting from fresh everytime
Anyone had similar problems with their devices just dying whilst charging?
Thanks
My G8141 suddenly turned off a few weeks ago and I could only start it again after about 30 minutes.
You say both died while charging, did you use the original charger and cable?

Yeah original charger and cable, no idea why its happened to two of my previous ones now...
Very annoying, never let the battery drain or anything... I use an app called battery charge limit which stop charge at a certain battery level., so I always took good care of the battery

Unable to charge the battery.

Hi,
One of my friend have this phone since 1 month.
One day, the battery life came down really quickly after a full charge.
Now, unable to charge the phone. 3 chargers and USB cable are tested and nothing.
When I start the phone, it starts, led blinking fast, and show me the battery empty, and it shutdown.
Thanks for your response.
Most likely a damaged battery. Use the warranty.

You shouldn't discharge the battery to zero, it's a myth

Try Another Charger
you have to jump start your battery if you dont even get any feedback from EDL or fastboot. just plug in c type connector, then repeatedly plug in and out your charging adapter. this once brought back my old xperia xa ultra from being completely dead to back to life. also dont drain your battery past %15-20.

I'd like to know your findings from the service center or if you were able to revive your phone. Same thing happened to me. new phone arrived and the battery was drained. LED Lights flicker when plugged in but won't turn on.
the phone is expected to recharge even from a flat 0 battery.

Hi, of course the same thing happened to me. I didn't notice the battery and it ran out to zero. Then I can't charge the phone anymore. I tried different cables, different chargers and nothing. After connecting the charger, only the LED flashes and that's it. I left the phone on the charger for a few hours and something didn't change. Don't have new information on how you ended up in the service? thx
This thing worries me a lot!
Also because I have seen that it is a very common problem among Poco phones.
Even with a lot of attention it can happen, inadvertently ... at that point what do you do?
What if it happens out of warranty?
Is it possible that there is no solution?
Has anybody found a solution to this problem? Which I think is a software/coding problem.
I had the exact same issue in April (phone bought in January) where I didn't notice that the battery had gone flat and plugged the charger in and left it to charge, only it didn't.
Now I was in the position where my son also has the same phone so to diagnose the issue, i took mine apart and removed the charging port and swapped it with his. No change, his phone charged mine didn't.
I then swapped the batteries, his battery would charge in my phone and weirdly my battery would charge from '0' in his phone. So the charging ports and cables were now known to be fine and working, but also the batteries were both able to be charged so it seems it is a software issue.
I now have a new battery on order because he's not got his phone any more
