[Completed] Several devices hacked, many dirrefent brands.. - XDA Assist

Hi!
It has recently come to my attention that all och my devices somehow has been hacked. Also people in my surrounding, ex. family and friends devices seems to have been compromised! The devices affected includes, but is not limited to, Samsung galaxy s4, s5, s6, s6 edge plus, nexus 6P, Sony Xperia Z1 compact, Apple iphone 6 etc. Some of the devices was rooted, other were completely stock.
The attacker have somehow gained full control of the phones and used them to listen to coversations, download files, track via GPS etc etc..
My question now is How could this happen?
I am fairly concerned about my privacy in normal cases so I am absolutely sure that they haven't had physical access to my phone. And it seems far fetched that they would have gotten access to all of the phones that have been compromised without getting caught even once!
Now all of my devices are newly flashed and formatted, do you think that the malware they use could have survive that?
I managed to get a logcat from one of the devices before I re-flashed it. Do you think there could be any traces of the malware or the attacker in there? If you think so I will gladly post the logcat for you to see!
If you miss some information or need to know anything else, feel free to ask and I will answer as soon as I can!
Thank you!

Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
There is no forum for your device. Try posting your question in the forum linked below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
I'll add that if you are certain no one has physically had your phone then it may be someone that knows all of you, this can be done by simply sending a picture/attachment via MMS or email, all that is required is for you to open the pic/attachment and the can access your device. It stands to reason that someone in the circle of all the members with effected devices. Is there anyone that they all know in common? Are they all using certain apps? Find the common thread between everyone and you may narrow down the source.
Reflashing them all with stock firmware should fix them if you want easy solutions. If you have any that don't have stock firmware available you'll have to root those devices to find and remove any malicious software.

[Q] HTC Hero Rooting Advice?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I have looked at other questions on here, however thought I would ask a new one, as they do not all cover what I would like to ask, as mine are more specific. I have a few questions/issues that I'm unsure about, so would like to ask on here Excuse me if they sound silly and basic
Anywhoo, I would like to Root my device (HTC Hero 2.1) however would like to know the potential disadvantges of this and any 'safe guide' to doing so. I have read advice online where some drawbacks can be 'bricking' and voiding the warranty, but would like advice upon how to prevent this from happening. Also, I have read that you can un-root the device? If this is the case, once this is done, if there is a problem with my phone and I send it back, will it still be under warranty as such, so in the sense that can't they tell it's been rooted prior to the repair? (may sound like a silly question but I'm a newbie on this)
Also, I don't intend to make my phone some sort of superpowered device (which it won't as it's not the best of phones on the market but hey), however would like to increase the loading/processing time of applications, view other OS', Baseband etc.. Also, how will this affect my data? - i.e. messages, conversations (whatsapp, pingchat etc) and other apps currently installed on the phone. Also any other information that may be necassary to know. Not meaning to sound picky or bossy, but would like a more complex answer to this, not just short one lined answers that are much help as a chocolate teapot!
Many Thanks

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy J3 willing to pay for someone to help root it

Is this even an option? Forgive me if this isnt something that is done. I only ask becausr I've seen posts with "bounty" in the title and it appeared like they were offering or pooling together funds to incentivize someone to work on their particular device. I have a fairly new phone and thus far there is nothing out for it. All I need is a kernel without Root protection so that root sticks through reboot and I hopefully stop boot looping when I flash Super SU. willing to pay someone as I know this is not an easy task and takes lots of work.
Hi,
You can open a bounty thread here if you wish, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help (since there is no dedicated forum section for your device)
But XDA does not get involved in these threads, in any way. Also, Bounties usually go uncollected, but when they do work, it's usually for far more popular devices. Developers usually need to own the device, sometimes more than one of them (many of them, as they destroy them attempting this), and no one will buy a J3 to work on a bounty that will likely not grow much, if any.
Again, these threads are allowed here, but Moderators will not help in any way with the finances involved, and money up front is definitely NOT allowed here. And developers often do not see most of the pledges honored either, which has made these types of threads fairly useless.
For such an obscure device, I really do think you will not find much luck to be honest.

[Completed] Any manufacturers anywhere that offer Android devices that DO NOT require root.

Hello, i am new to anything regarding android as I have been broke for a very long time. I am no longer in that situation and finally went out and bought my first smart devices and I have been furious at them ever since. I am a PC user, have been for decades, I can do damn near anything I want on it and was of the (Incorrect) assumption that these things worked in a similar fashion. Obviously they don't. I have, in the process of trying to root and grant superuser rights to two seperate tablets from verizon running lollipop and ruined them. I want a device that works like a computer: I can download and run whatever I want, change whatever i want, and at the end of the day if I screw up the OS or it gets demolished by a virus, reinstall the OS myself WITHOUT unlocking bootloaders/hacking/rooting/jailbreaking, etc. As I said I have already bricked two tablets trying to get these stupid devices to work like the PCs I was told they were when they first showed up on the market. I am a hair's width away from swearing off smart devices for good and sticking with just my PC and my old flip phone since I won't be using a smart phone for anything other than calls and text at that point. So if anyone can point me in the direction of a company that makes smart devices without any sort of restrictions (like EVERYBODY does with PCs) OR at the very least a company that makes it stupid proof easy to do I would be most appreciative.

Questions regarding clone phone

Hi everybody,
hopefully I am at the right place here to ask these questions. If not please direct me to the appropriate sub forum.
Currently I have a Chines Clone Phone (maybe iphone 7 plus) here available - looking for several things. It seems the installed Android is working at least for the majority of main functions but it is far from being complete. Now I fear that these kind of phone and system is not very reliable or safe (bloatware, spyware and other sniffing stuff below surface or whatsoever). So my question is: Are these phones and their OSes are generally considered to be safely usable? Or does user need to fear to be infected, spied or similar?
So far I tried to Root the phone and to install custom recovery and custom ROM without any success. The only information I got can be seen in the attached screenshot.
Currently I am checking the methods and files proposed here and here. Does anybody know whethere these are reliable and can be trusted?
Unfortunately I could not find much information at XDA so far - also my clone phone identifying thread here at XDA did not provide much help so far.
Thanks in advance for your support!
Bye

XDA has a thread here for cloned devices but unfortunately you have an iPhone clone. This website does not deal with iPhone or iPhone clones(regardless of whether they are android based or not). You'll have to find somewhere else to get your answer.

Ok, thank you - will try to do so.
Then I will reduce my initial questions to the page and contents regarding MediaTek android systems I mentioned here and here.
Does anybody have any experiences with this stuff/site? Or should I open another thread for this question?

That site is all about getting paid for ads, the question isn't whether the guide can be trusted, it's a question of whether the files that are linked can be trusted, those files are in other places and just linked in that guide, they probably were not built/developed by whoever wrote the guide. Some of those files may have originated here at XDA are only linked in that guide to bring you here to download.
