Instagram Picture/ Video Poor Rear Camera Quality - Xiaomi Mi 4

Hi guys,
I am using latest global stable rom (7.5.1) and i noticed something wrong with instagram. As you all know instagram released new update and you can use the instagram like @snapchat which you can upload your story. I liked the app. But the problem is when you upload a story you have to take a picture or record video inside of the application. When i try to do that simply the rear camera picture or video quality is amazingly poor.
Any other one faced the issue? And any solution you you can provide?
Btw I tried global developer rom latest version as well (6.7.29) which came back to same issue as well.
Waiting for your feedbacks. Thanks.

After few tries..
Well ok what i found out after few tries is quite funny and simple. The problem is not the camera drivers or device specs.
Instagram app is automatically selecting the lowest quality video recording option. What i am trying to say is; since rear camera has recording options ( sd, hd, full hd, 4k) the app is making the lowest quality selection by itself. When it comes to front camera since there is no option to choose the quality of front camera video recording then instgram takes the fixed one which is already full hd ( you can find video recording settings inside of camera app for both rear and front cameras) I believe this is done due to decrease the data consumption.
So now the case is if we can simply remove the option of 'SD Video Recording of the back camera' then we can post good quality videos on instagram
So if someone know, how the camera recording quality can be removed from the system please let me know
Thanks in advance

Best camera / video recording app?

What are the best apps available for picture and video recording for 2.2? I don't know why but I've been having a hard time finding good ones. I've been using Vignette which does it's job for taking pictures but doesn't have video recording support.
Hopefully there is an app availble that supports the 8MP pictures and 720P video recording of the X10.
I'd love to be able to use the stock camera from stock firmware but that doesn't seem to work on 2.2
Why not use this ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945264
It has a working 8MP cam and 720p video recording(Though the sound capture might be inaudible not sure why, i bet the devs are working on it and colour reproduction for me was kinda bluish effect.)
That is the rom I'm using. I'm just looking for an APP to take pics / shoot vids with. the stock android one kinda sucks
well...for photos with perfect light (outside, daylight) camera360 is perfect. it has very nice effects and the photos look like they are made by a pro. (one bad thing is, that it doesnt recognize the flashlight of the x10i - i dunno why and its not for free)

so far the best rom for me...
other than stock SE camera miui cam is nice
i confirm that
I love Camera360 Ultimate, it takes pictures faster than Vignette and in my experience better quality features.
Vignette has more effects but it takes FOREVER to process a photo, and I have frequent freezing, so I don't like it that much.

Force 720p recording on leaked Gingerbread ROM

Hi all,
When using the leaked Gingerbread ROM, the camera and video app revert to the default Android one and we lose the LG camera / video app.
I don't really mind this except for the fact that having the video on 'High' uses the psuedo 1080 and is not nearly as smooth as the 720p recording on the Froyo ROM.. I saw the same issue with "1080p" on the Froyo ROM.
What I'd like to do is force it so that "High" is 720p.
Is there a hack that will let me set this permanently, or an app that will let me select this on the fly?
I'd much rather have smooth video at 720p than psuedo 1080p that's a little jittery.
Thanks so much for any information.
I found my own solution.
Download LgCameraPro from the market.
It's a camera and video camera replacement that has TONS of features and even allows you to set your own custom recording resolution, bitrate, framerate, etc..
GREAT app so far (although I've only been playing with it about 20 minutes).
I to have that app you speak of and I like the video camera but I dont like any of the Camera apps in the market they all shoot crappy pics the closest one to even the stock android app is called camera advance so right now I use the stock app for camera and LGcamerapro for the video mostly sometimes I just use the stock for video but I heard that it only shoots in 720p and not 1080p. I updated with the LG update as soon as it came out I mean hours after the release Someone said that the LG update lost 1080p video capabilities but the OTA got them back. So Again I am confused does my stock app shoot 1080p or 720p.

Recording video is zoomed in compared to taking a photo?

When i switch to video in the camera app the view is zoomed in compared to taking a photo. This is the minimum zoom level in the video mode but would be zoomed in a few times in photo mode.
Anyone else experiencing this and know how to fix it? I've had this issue with all the roms i've tried - ICS & GB.
It's really annoying having to stand far away from the thing I want to record

yeah in video mode the image is little bit zoomed ( i would say 2x max) but that will not cause any trouble at all you can still take videos of near objects with ease...
BTW if you want your video quality to be quadrupled try this mod...the video quality is amazing im taking videos of my niece and they are absolutely godly when compared to crappy stock video
try the mod if you have custom rom installed

It is very annoying and I find I have to move quite far back to record a video of something right infront of me, unlike just taking a photo.
Yeah i know about that mod and love it, it increased video & photo quality by 1000%

[Q] LgCamera App bad quality video on Samsung S4

Hey everyone, I have a stock Samsung S4 that I like recording concert videos on.
I had a real big issue with the audio. I might have that fixed with BootlegMic. I have also installed LgCamera in hopes of finding a fixed focus for my video. I found that this app did let me use an external mic that my stock app did not, but I cannot seem to get a decent quality video from it at all
I have tried changing video resolution, video encoder, video bitrates, and file formats. Every conceivable combination that's possible, (I realize any video res past 1920 X 1080 is not supported), but cannot get any video quality even close to the stock video app.
Is there anyone with experience with this problem that can help me get it sorted out?
Thx. Jerry.
This may be late
This may be a late reply, but just in case any one else happens upon this thread, it might be worth looking at Open Camera app. Lots of tweakable settings, fixed focus, exposure lock, external mic, etc.
BTW, I just put together a bootlegMIC and it is fantastic.

How to record videos with 60fps on Xiaomi mi note3?

I have installed Google camera and it works well, especially taking photos with long exposure at night, really amazing
But i find it sucks when i switch to recording modeAlthough it offers 60fps, the quality of the video is really bad and not 60fps at all. You can easily tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps. And I have tried snapdragon camara, failed too, the same effect as google camera.
So, is there anyone who can enable that feature:highfive:
Thanks in advance
Open Camera.
