Depending on what happened, it's a yes/no situation. What did you do?
Try this:
get into bootloader mode (tri-color screen): Take out the battery for one minute. Put it back in. Getting into bootloader mode is done by holding the Volume down button while you do a press/release of the Reset button. OR hold the Volume down button while you do a press/release of the Power button.
That should get you to bootloader mode. Now, plug in your USB to the PC. Flash a CDMA ROM from there by running the .exe. If you cannot do that, transfer the .nbh file (rename it to "RHODIMG.nbh" [no quotes]) and follow these instructions.
Good luck, and happy new year!
*The majority of the CDMA ROMs can be found at PPCGeeks*

Well, this forum is for CDMA TP2s, but I'll help.
So you took out the battery for at least one minute? Then you put it back in. Get into bootloader mode (T-Mobile version: phone is off, hold the Volume Down button while you press/release the Power Button. Keep holding the Volume Down button until the colorful screen shows up).
When you're in bootloader, plug in your TP2 to your PC. Now run the .exe of a GSM ROM and follow the steps, as if your phone is synced to the PC. (aka flash as you would usually do).
To flash via the Storage Card: On your PC, go to Start > My Computer > Removable Disk drive (something like that; make sure this is your phone's Storage Card). Drag the .nbh of a GSM ROM there. Rename the .nbh "RHODIMG.nbh" (no quotes). Unplug your Phone. Take out the battery again for one minute. Now, go back into bootloader (hold Volume Down button and press/release Power button [keep holding the Volume Down button]). Follow the steps to flash the phone.
Good luck.

You did exactly the reverse of what I did, and the instructions already given are how I resolved it: put it in bootloader and flash a compatible ROM. I flashed a stock ROM just to be sure, but that's probably not needed.

See if you can do a hard-reset right now. While phone is off (which it is), press and hold Talk/Send, End, and Power button at the same time. Wait for a screen to pop-up. Follow steps to hard reset. That will bring it back to factory defaults.
If it doesn't work, maybe you could post your question on PPCGeeks, where a lot of CDMA people go. They might be able to help you.
Can you Unbrick a Touch Pro 2
Hi to all,
I'm a new here and a little desperate . I flashed my rom by using a raphael update instead of Rhodium. My phone got bricked. My phone is a Sprint HTC touch pro 2.
At the moment, it will not boot, when I plug it to my computer and it was looking for qualcomm cdma MSM drivers.
I tried sof and hardware reset including the boot loader. Nothing works. I also tried using different RUUs. Nothing works. I hope somebody can help me.
Fixed the problem...bought an android...ha,ha...

Well if you can power it on, and go to bootloader, then your phone is just fine. Just flash a Rhodium ROM.
I suggest take battery out, and put it back in after few seconds, to see if it powers on. If not, leave it in the charger, and see if it powers on.
After installing the HardSPL, I decided to flash my US Cellular CDMA phone with a GSM rom and of course it bricked it. The phone would only boot to bootloader, so I was going to have it repaired for $70. But if I was willing to flash my device, then I'm sure as willing to look for a DIY solution somewhere. Goodthing I searched this forum, because the answers where right here!
Just format your microSD to FAT32, install an extracted stock ROM kit to the root of the SD insuring you rename the .nbh to RHODMIG.nbh and place the other extracted files on the SD as well. Place the microSD in your HTC Touch Pro2 and boot to bootloader. You may have to take steps to get to the bootloader, mine booted to bootloader automatically anyway at that point. Follow onscreen instructions, and your Touch will be as good as new!
thanks a million for helping me unbrick my tp2
wow man thanks a million, i followed the instru and it worked but was slow so i did task 29 and flashed the rom i wanted and it works great, i really appreciate your help on this
How did you get to the bootloader menu. I am using CDMA HTC Pro 2 by Sprint. Thanks

keeps rebooting?
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the problem I'm facing:
I have the latest Energy rom, with Android 2.3 on SD card. Android proved to be quite unstable and requires soft resets every now and then. Most of the time I would let it boot into WinMo and then run Haret again to get into Android.
Yesterday I left in running in Android all day, and in the evening I noticed the phone had died. Thinking it was just out of battery, I just plugged it in, let it charge for a few hours, then tried to boot it up. But it just kept rebooting, never getting pass the Touch Pro 2 boot screen.
Did hard resets twice, same thing. Re-flash the rom, same thing. Took out SD card, flashed again, same thing. Everything I tried, it would not get pass the initial boot screen, and just cycles the reboot again. Oh by the way, the hard resets and re-flashes are all successful with no errors.
Anyone have a solution to this? Thanks!

Try flashing another ROM or try putting in another battery and see if the bootloop issue goes away. Kindly update the status of your post if you fixed the issue or are still having problems.
**EDIT**: After updating, if you see it is draining your battery quite quickly, and seems slower, simply restart your device and it will sort itself out.
Just successfully updated to the newest Rogers LGP925 firmware version 2.3.5
Head on over to update your phone with LG's Mobile Software updater today!
Don't be scared if your phone stays on the Rogers screen after update for a few minutes, as mine did aswell.
Do you have the kdz file link?
how do you update to your phone to this?
Does it matter that my phone is rooted?
You will lose root after the update and at the moment, you won't be able to get it back until a new exploit is found from what I've read.
You can update by downloading the LG Mobile Update tool from LG's site. It's not the best of programs but it does occasionally work.
here's link: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP925G/ARGSDB/V20c_00/V20C_00.kdz
Can someone help me I did the update on the lg updater thing I've wasted like god only knows how much bandwidth my phone does the update and everything seems ok go to turn on my phone and I'm stuck at the rogers logo and not for just a few mins I had it sitting there for 30mins and the screen will blink for 3 secs and back to the logo. I was on v21a and I did a recovery to downgrade. Guess that didn't work now I'm trying to install it through a kdz method but that's not working I'm stuck at trying to downgrade from 1.5.*.9 to 1.5*.8 well now the program wont install or open I've spent a few hours under other forms looking for solution but none are working (windows 7 64bit)
Edit: Never mind I fixed it.
Did anyone else have success with the update?
Worked for me once i did the fix for the lg update tool in the dev section.
Sent from my LG-P925g using XDA App
For those having trouble...
I had boot loop after updating many times. You have to do a factory reset from emergency recovery to get it to boot. Do the following:
1. Flash with kdz or upgrade officially.
2. When at boot loop / stuck Rogers screen, pull battery to turn off phone
3. Press and hold HOME SOFT KEY then press and hold volume down key, then while still holding those 2 keys, press and hold power button until screen turns on (5-8 secs)
Then let go of all 3 buttons at the same time.
4. Wait and you should see a different LG recovery come up and it will ask you to factory reset.
5. Use volume keys to navigate to yes and do the reset.
Then reboot and the ROM should load.
There you have it. Worked for me everytime.
I did as crazycage suggested and it works perfect. So far I am liking it.

Rooting on Ubuntu (or OSx)
This is all fine and dandy, but it is kinda sad being stuck in this OS. My in-laws have this phone, so I am wondering if I can, easily, bring them to the present. What rom's do you recommend. Also, are there any step by steps any where for rooting their phone. I'd install CWM on their phone to maybe give them a little nicer UI. I'd install CM9 (or anything ICS really) on their phone. What I need first of all is a step by step to root, from there I will hit the ground running, my problem, the only ones I can find are the Windows One click exe thingies, which aren't much good on Ubuntu, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

found this: vulnfactory dot org/blog/2012/02/26/rooting-the-lg-thrill-optimus-3d/
opened the .bat file, replaced all of the adb mentions with ./adb and ran the script manually.
all is well
off I go then.
First off, thanks to twjordo & toxicro on the TechKnow forums, and SilverX69 on here. Without the combined info & hard work from you three I'd have never got a working rom on my Hipstreet FLARE. This is just a guide that will hopefully help someone who found themselves in the same situation as myself.
Note to mods: If this is in the wrong section I apologise. Please move it to where it belongs.
So this recovery is for those who have somehow bricked their Hipstreet tablet. This guide was tested on a Hipstreet FLARE 9 8GB model and Windows 7. Your millage may vary on other FLARE models and operating systems. This guide assumes you have adb drivers installed.
PLEASE NOTE that I am not responsible for anything, positive or negative, that results from you following, reading, or otherwise knowing about the existence of this guide (unless you win the lottery in which case it was definitely because of this guide and you should remember your ol' buddy Thrash). I offer no support. No warranty is expressed or implied. If this doesn't work for you or something somehow goes wrong, use your initiative.
With that out the way, lets begin;
1. Ensure your tablet is powered off and disconnected from your computer.
2. Download my Hipstreet recovery pack here. Unrar the folder to your desktop.
3. Install the LiveSuitPack111 program, and also install the drivers when prompted.
4. Open LiveSuit.exe and click the blue X at the prompt.
5. Click on the Select Img option, then browse to and open the FaaastJB-v2.img from the recovery pack.
6. This part's a little tricky. Note that the tablet's screen will remain off for this step:
a. Hold down the Vol- and Power buttons
b. Connect the tablet to your PC via USB
c. Quickly release the power button, then click it 6 times. Don't let go of Vol-
d. Windows should now detect the tablet, and LiveSuit will produce a popup.
e. If a tablet is not detected by windows or LiveSuit, power off the tablet and repeat steps 6a through 6d.
7. Follow the prompts the Force Format the tablet. It will begin to flash the rom.
8. Once LiveSuit has completed flashing, it will create a dialogue notifying you, and your tablet will automatically restart.
9. Once the tablet has booted, check the touchscreen. If it works, you're done. If you find that it's inverted (touching the bottom left of the screen results in the tablet registering a touch on the upper right) then read on. The best way to test for an inverted touch screen is to try to unlock it. If the date & time shift around, then it's inverted.
10. Open callibration.bat, located in the TSCalibration folder in the recovery pack. This will install touchscreen calibration software.
11. Either using a mouse with a microUSB adaptor (recommended), or by tapping the inverse location on the screen, navigate to the Calibration app.
12. Follow the prompts in the Calibration app. Be as precise as possible. Use a capacitive stylus if you have one available.
13. Reboot the tablet. That's it, you're done!
If you find your touchscreen doesn't work at all after flashing the new rom, this guide by SilverX69 may benefit you.
@trashwolf,
Got one of these hipstreets for my 5 year old... It's like 20 days old and now won't boot... When powering on it goes to the first logo (a blue @ and blue 9)... then nothing else happens.. Sometimes screen will go black and then back to the blue logos as if it's trying to boot again.
Do you have any ideas by chance how to get into recovery mode to set the device back to factory default? They said hold volume + and power then release power and keep holding volume but that does not work.
Would your guide on bootloop/brick resolve this problem?
Thanks for your time!
Help with camera and g-sensor
Good night!
I followed the tutorial, the installation was successful, managed to solve the problem with the touch screen, but could not get the g sensor and camera work. I read something about editing the script.bin file but do not know how to edit it. Can anyone help me solve this problem?
The tablet is a Hipstreet HS-9DTB4-8GB.
I appreciate the help.:good:
HI...about the rom in the first post,is it a custom rom ?...is it rooted ?...is it modified ?...can we root this piece of crap ?...can we remove all the no needed apps ?
thanks
its the 600th hundreds time im doing a hard reset to make this thing work properly.....sishhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hi guys I just wanted to let you know that Hipstreet has put out a firmware update to fix these boot loop issues.. I think it only came out last month judging by the build number. My wife's tablet stopped working months ago and couldn't get this fix above in the OP to work for our Flare 2 9 inch 8gb. Here's the link to the hipstreet update page for the flare 2 (worked great for us!)
http add the colon //flare2.hipstreetonline.ca/
Our shop flashed two flare 2 last month with the march 24th 2014 firmware on flare2 . hipstreetonline . ca and they both came back today with the same problem... One was replaced, and serviced twice since December, the other one was serviced 3 times. They are both back in for the 4th time...
simply hold Vol - and the Power button while powering up to get into recovery mode. There you can do a factory reset. This has solved boot loops for me in the past.

Greetings, i have a lumia 1020 which since last september had windows 10 preview installed and updated all the way through 1607 with no problems. After a year and lot of junk apps started to become bit of sluggish so i did an image restore to its original os 8.1 cyan and wanted to do a clean update all to 1607. Apparently microsoft disabled all the non supported devices from the preview update so now i am stuck with 8.1 cyan or denim at best.
Is there any possible way to get back to windows 10 that works for lumia 1020 on cyan or denim?
Maybe an .ffu rom image saved backed up by someone ?
Any registry hacks/mods will work to upgrading to win 10 from my current os?
Any other way that i am not aware of?

I rarely post on the site as I never have much useful information to give. However, I just finished doing this myself on my ATT Lumia 1020 about a couple hours ago and still had all the links available.
The 1st link should give a good overview of what to do and you might not need the second link if you can follow it.

This 2nd link give you a more detailed explanation of how to use Winternals to unlock and root your phone.

This 3rd link will give you the specification to modify the phones registry specifically for the 1020 (to 950) as the 1st links registry information is for the 920

Alright managed to do it, took some trial and error but eventually got everything working, the 950xl info didnt do the trick for me at least it stopped at denim i used the info you provided and i got to update all the way to redstone.
For other users with 1020 those are all the steps i did
1) did everything mentioned here used exact info and given files http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...le/installing-windows-10-mobile-tech-t3431454
2 updated from cyan to denim then to 10 th2 then to redstone
3) then changed my phone info back to its regular one (save previous info somewhere)
4)hard reset the phone Pres power button + volume down, release power button after vibration, keep holding volume down until exclamation mark appears, connect charger, press volume up volume down power button volume down in that order.
5) After i got in i choosed language and i updated all apps, cortana language pack etc
6) installed missing system apps using the qr codes from here https://translate.googleusercontent...-2089/&usg=ALkJrhgwT1n_OZfXBy1mIOmlWcvTfbQFsw
7) used this method to repair glance screen http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-rs1-build-t3319375/post67795323#post67795323

Phone now has redstone latest build 100% all functions working as much as i can tell and everything runs smooth as smooth as it was back on 8.1.
Good luck to everyone and a big thanks to Stealing_heart ! for his awesome guide and avn128 for replying to my problem.

Problems i've read about and will be big problems until they some how get fixed. They probably won't ever get fixed though. They mainly have to do with the camera though.
Stereo Sound while recording audio
Problems with camera resolution

Hi and thanks for your help with this device.
i have a Lumia 1020 and i can't upgrade it. I succesfully unlocked my bootloader, and opened root acess on my phone. But when i change the values in the registry, and reboot my phone, i got a bootloop with blue screen with sad face.
It seems my phone refuse to boot with the new values set in the registry.
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance.
Lumia 1020 > WP 10.0.14905.1000
Hello.
I have a Lumia 1020 on WP 10.0.14905.1000
Done with proposed steps here (WDRT, WP Internal, ...)
There's for me a big problem with this build. Cortana don't speech.
Details here : changewindows.org/build/14905/mobile
>1. How to downgrade from 14905 to 14393.103 or 14393.67 ?
>2. Is my lumia 1020 take future patches via windows update or insider ?
Thanks

Does anyone have a copy of the original 1020 registry values? The camera in Windows 10 doesn't seem to support the same options that the original 8.1 camera did but when I try to do a windows device restore it errors out after rebooting...

I have same problem with windows camera on my 1020. It has no picture size option( the option is fade and unchangeable). While lumia camera is unsupported. I wonder is there any tweak that work on it and bring Lumia camera back. That's such miserable when your powerful camera doesn't work.
FYI
it's os version is 1607 the latest win10 I guess.
I have a Lumia 1020 WP 8.1 and i am try to upgrade windows 10 mobile redstone build, but i cannot it. I've tried WPinternals for unlock bootloader, i select original ffu(on downloaded for lumiafirmware.com) and emergency loaders(on downloaded for lumiafirmware.com) and engineering sbl3's, then start operation but my phone stuck in black screen and any button working, and WPinternals stuck on Emergency Download Mode on my screen, how can i solve this? please help me.

probably, it become bricked. try this instruction, it worked for me last time ronhks.hu/2016/02/28/fix-your-hardbricked-lumia-phones-no-jtag-only-for-qhsusb_dload-lumia-black-screen-no-vibration/
Make sure you have necessary drivers which you can find on xda forum.
you may wanna update to windows 10 version 10.586 rather going to the latest one because No working lumia camera neither windows camera.

Yeah I ve experienced once. Then I pulled my cable which lead to bricked state ...the following steps are unbrick, flash with the original FFU file then unblock bootloader.
I think you should flash with original ffu first before starting unlock bootloader. The reason is your current firmware different from the one used to unlock bootloader. So try flash with a downloaded one then use the same one for the trick
P/S: @ZxPaCMaNxZ : I may forget to revert the lumia 1020 information before installing the update that would lead to missing lumia camera.

Hi,
Around three weeks ago, my fingerprint sensor suddenly stopped working and it disappeared from the settings.
It seems to be software and not hardware since if I do a factory reset it works again.
The problem is that it has happened three times since then and every time I have to do a factory reset. It's really annoying so I'm trying to find durable solutions.
My model is a FRD-L06
I'm on EMUI 5.0.4 and Android 7.0
By the way I tried to upgrade to EMUI 8 to fix the problem but it never worked (no update found with HiSuite, bad checksum following the answer bellow and error while updating using firmware finder and dns installation)
Sorry I didn't find the thread where I got this answer (it is on this website) but here a copy/past:
If anyone has the EU FDR-L09 and is stuck in Nougat version C432B416, not getting the latest oreo b562 update, here is the easiest method to get it,unlocked bootloader not required; First install the Firmware Finder app for Huawei on your Honor 8 from Play Store.Open the app, and press on your model number, you will see a list with firmwares.Press on the fifth one,the first one you see that has 4 lines of text, its latest oreo. Now press Check Firmware Access if it says you are approved proceed.Press the In-app Proxy option. It will ask to set a Proxy so long press your Wifi network ,press edit settings, show advanced option change Proxy server to Manual and set hostname to localhost and port to 8080.Now go to the OTA updater app of your phone and search for updates,it will appear!..Now press on the three dots in the top right corner and press Download Full Package. So wait for the update to install. When its finished and your phone reboots you will notice that you are stuck in a screen where only the nav bar flashes and you cant do anything.Dont worry, power off your phone. Now press and hold Volume up and power button.I let go the buttons 1-2 secs after honor logo appears(long enough). Now you are in recovery so wipe data. When phone reboots the phone will be functioning but missing a lot of apps.Sideload any keyboard apk to your phone (you dont have one)with a pc ,locate it in the file manager and install it.Now connect to your wifi network open the OTA updater and search for updates...it detects one and you install it.When everything is finished you’ll have a fully functioning oreo with all apps

Anyone has an idea ?
(I'm open to install custom ROM but I'm a total noob (never did it)) and really like EMUI
Thanks !
