[Completed] Delay in Receiving SMS/MMS Using Textra - XDA Assist

I tried searching the forums & online but didn't see this as a recent issue.
In the past week, I have been receiving my SMS/MMS on my N6P delayed anywhere between 5-30 mins .
In Textra - you can tell by sliding the messages to the left & seeing when it was sent & when you actually received it via timestamps for each text.
I've switched SIM cards (TMO), adjusted the APN settings from IP6 to IP4 and to both.
Rebooted.
Cleared Cached.
None of the other phones (mix of Android & iPhone) are afflicted with this issue.
Tested vs. Google Messenger & Hangouts & no problems there.
Anyone experiencing this also & do you have a resolution?

[Q] Multiple threads for same contact in Google Voice

Im not sure if this has been asked and answered... My search of the nexus s forum didnt turn up much...
In google voice (where i've been receiving all of my voice and text messages) the same contact has multiple threads. It seems like each days text messages go into a new thread by default or something. Bottom line, to look at a previous day's messages i have to back out of the current days message thead and scroll down (through other contact's duplicated threads) and open the same contacts messages from a previous day.
In the default android messaging app all texts to a single contact are grouped together. google voice on the other hand makes going back through texts a pain. is there any way to make google voice text groupings behave like the stock android app?
sorry to reply to my own question.... >100 views, anyone have any ideas? is anyone with sprint even experiencing the same issue?
Yes, I am experiencing the same issue on my Nexus S on Sprint.

That's how they are grouped at voice.google.com too so I don't believe it's an app or a Sprint issue.
EDIT: Seems like it was designed that way, the reasons for which aren't clear:

I noticed the same thing. It gets kind of annoying but I just archive the old ones in case I need to go back for something. Would be nice to have one per person but perhaps it's to limit size?
Any resolution to this? I have gvoice on my HTC vision and it still seems to be creating multiple threads for the same contact (not 100% of the time, but often)

[Q] SMS app that indicates received/sent?

Got a Desire Z with Cyanogenmod 7.
The SMS app displays only with whom I was in contact but it does not indicate if I received the SMS from that person or if I sent it.
I tried a couple apps from market but they were all alike, including GO, Pansi, one other I already forgot. (Plus they had tons of features I don't need, ad supported. I need something *simple*.)
Suggestions appreciated.
I don't really get what you are asking for. Sms to and from one person are grouped in conversation. You can see which sms you sent by looking at the alignment of the person's picture (or placeholder for that). If you wrote it, its right-aligned.
I believe the OP is asking like the other NON-Smart phone SMS display like you see messages in folders with Inbox and Sent items.
Well in android, I have no need for that coz grouping is the next generation and much logically displays your logical conversation.
Still you can do all your SMS tasks with this.
Did you try Handcent sms app?

[Q] MMS Problem

Updated to the L preview and have had no problems besides the few apps that aren't optimized for ART. Noticed i wasn't getting MMS. Tried 3 different apps (Hangouts, Go SMS, and Hello). Followed the APN settings from a APN list (Can't post links yet) . No luck on that helping as well. Any info on a work around would be greatly appreciated. Not looking to go back to KitKat though.
Thanks in advance
welcome to last week

i found out at least in my case that forcing the phone to 3G and disabling LTE lets me send and receive MMS sometimes, you can try that. Also try using Textra for Messages: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra&hl=en
Like others have mentioned, this has been all over the android L threads. I had the same issue when on it. I noticed I was able to send/receive MMS on Hangouts when not on wifi. However, it took a while to receive them sometimes.
Try Chomp.... It work perfect for me sending and receiving.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

[Completed] iPhone and Android Group text issues (still)

Alright, this issue has gone on long enough! The issue is a little more complicated than just not receiving group mms from iphones. Here's the deal:
iPhone user 1 and iPhone user 2 have the exact same settings under "settings/messaging"
imessage ON
Show contact photo: ON
Read receipts: OFF
MMS: ON
send as sms: OFF
group messaging: ON
However, I get picture messages from user 1, but not user 2. We have a family thread with 6 iphones and 3 android devices. I thought that I would get all text group texts (messages with just text) but I just learned that I don't even get all those. So there are iphones i only get text from, iphones that i get texts and pictures from, and iphones that i don't get anything from. This seems horribly inconsistent and wondering what the heck is going on!
My next step is to have iphone users delete the android contacts (however many duplicates there might be) and then re- add the numbers. But in the meant time, if anyone has any solutions/suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Default SMS issue 6.0

I tried searching for this but it's so specific and I'm quite possibly using the wrong terms.
Let both of my LG G3 update to Android 6.0 (D85030p) and the default SMS messenger has stopped working with my text banking and retirement balance texts.
They will send and receive texts from other people but not these 6 digit numbers. No response from either one even trying to re-register the phone with each institution.
Google Messenger works just fine but lacks the only feature I like about the default G3 SMS, the ability to lock/keep a reply from being deleted. Even when deleting an entire conversation, the locked replies within are saved. That is the only feature I am missing.
Can anyone recommend another SMS app that has this feature or maybe there is a setting somewhere with the default SMS that I'm just not seeing ?
There are a million SMS apps in the play store and trying to read each one for details gets old after about 20 minutes. Hopefully there is a fix or another app that has this feature that someone here knows about.
Thank you.
Guess I'll answer my own question.
The Verizon messaging app has the features I'm looking for.
