I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 (GM-920F I believe) and after a OTA update to the Marshmallow firmware, it fails to boot up on the Samsung logo (it displays it but doesn't make the sound) and I cannot use the volume keys to access recovery (or download mode). In addition it isn't detected by Odin on vairous PCs (and I've used lots of different micro USB ports). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Why you can't boot into download mode? If you press volume down + home button + power button for a very long time, it should boot into download mode.

Hi guys,
i know this topic is posted a lot, but i don't know an answer.
I tried to restore my galaxy s6 using twrp, but after 4HOURS!!! i stopped the process.
Now im stuck in a bootloop and can't get into the download mode.
I'm trying to flash the stock android firmware with odin 3.10, but it can't get ahead "Set up connection". (maybe, because it isn't in download mode ) ?
how am i able to flash the firmware now?
Try pressing and hold Volume Down + Power Button until your S6 exits bootloop then press Volume down + Home button + Power button to get to download mode and flash stock 5.1.1 via odin.
Alternatively you can wait for your battery to drain fully until it turns itself off. Then go to download mode (volume down + home button + power button) flash stock 5.1.1 via odin. I hope this helps.

Hi All,
I recently updated my phone's BL and CP using Odin since I wanted to update my version of Superman rom to the latest. I think I might have done it in the wrong order though? (flashed bootloader before attempting to update firmware)
My phone is now stuck on the Samsung logo with the "Recovery is not seaandroid enforcing" at the top. I can get it to restart by holding the Vol Down + Power button but can't get it into Recovery / Download Mode it just keeps rebooting into the samsung logo!! I tried a quick Vol Down + Power followed by Vol Down + Power + Home but it doesn't work and keeps going back to the samsung logo
Is there any other way I can get this to boot into download mode so that I can flash an older version of the bootloader using odin?

Press (Vol up + Vol down + Power button) and when screen goes off quickly press (Vol down + Home button + Power button). Repeat the process until you see the green screen! It worked for me.

One hour later I got this damn thing into Download Mode!! Phew...
I just kept the Vol Down + Power + Home buttons pressed while it kept rebooting itself (I was letting go of the buttons and pressing them again when I saw the screen turn off which wasn't working)
Not sure why the latest BL bricked my phone?! I've flashed one version before and it's now working again.

If you are using PH* bootloader and trying to root the system, you should only use TWRP 3.0.2.3 and best choice would be SuperSU 2.76.. Glad to hear it booted up at last!
So far I've yet to see someone truly brick an S7 since you'd need to replace the bootloader and it wont even flash a new bootloader until it's fully transfered and verified. So no worries there should always be a way out.
you can always go back to stock via Smartswitch and Rescue option.... all you need is your modelnumber and S/N.....
Phew, just went through the same problem, thanks a lot for help, guys!
Hi,
A7 2018 (SM-A750F) vanilla
I am trying to flash TWRP on my phone using Odin: entered recovery (VolUp+Power), choose Bootloader to enter download mode, blue download screen is visible, flashed TWRP via Odin, Odin reports success.
But then, the only option to leave download mode is VolDown+Power which results in a normal boot which in turn restores the default recovery.
So what am i doing wrong? How can I exit download mode straight into recovery?
There is many tutorials on the web for A7 2018 but most seem to use different key-combi's that don't work on my phone.
When you're in download mode keep pressing all 3 buttons ( volume up + volume down + power), around 7 seconds. When the screen will go black, immediately remove your hold from " volume down" button and you will be left with two buttons. volume up and power which are used to go in recovery, when you'll hear a vibration. Remove your hold from all buttons and you'll find yourself in recovery mode
In simple steps (They're Same) :-
1. Press all Available Buttons (VOLUME +, - AND POWER BUTTON) For Around 7 Seconds
2. When Screen Goes Black immediately Remove Finger From Volume Down Button
3. Don't remove fingers from Volume up and power button ( keep hold onto them)
4. You'll hear a vibration
5. Remove your hold from those buttons too
6. Congratulations, you're into recovery mode
Yes, that worked.
However on my phone the combi to exit Download is Down + Power and for Recovery is Up + Power.
my samsung a7 2018 got stuck on download mode after i tried to download font chnger through magisk and then it asked me to reboot and now it is stuck download mode and it a loop
Hi,
Recently i was trying to apply another rom to my Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 edition and i am stuck in an infinite bootloop. I cannot enter download mode with the Volume Down and Power keys and the only thing it does is showing the logo of Samsung every 5 seconds and restarts. I have tried to built a usb jig with 300k resistors and still does not boot up in download mode to flash with odin a stock firmware. Also i left the battery to drain and now it is turned off,but when i plug in the usb cable and power it up it still goes into infinite loop. Any help?
I was trying the Android 10 Magisk root for A750F and was greeted by a similar situation after ODIN rebooted my phone after flashing Magisk image.. Anyways, don't panic, try all combination of buttons. vUP,vDN,PWR or vUP,PWR or vUP,vDWN while connected to usb.. It wasn't working for me too but i tried all combinations and it landed me to download mode where I flashed the stock rom
just press those button and connect to usb
im glad i read his, had just the same issue while flashing wrong twrp on A750FN .. yihey thx budies
how did you solve this issue.
---------- Post added at 06:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 AM ----------
which button combination helped you. I having a similar issue. can not enter download mode.
Solution that helped me
Just Press the volume plus + volume minus + power button at once. Once the phone reboot black screen appears, Leave the power button and keep pressing the volume plus and volume minus button. It will redirect to the download mode. and reflash the room using Odin. Only use official sammobile rom file as other files may be corrupted. The issue may arise. The problem is in rom.
If any issue query me at : [email protected].
try this bro

I have tried keeping all 3 buttons (vol up + vol down + power), tried holding vol up + vol down and then connecting to my PC (nothing happens, I always see the same screen (SAMSUNG Galaxy A7 Secured by Knox and Powered by android underneath)).
Tried vUP,vDN,PWR or vUP,PWR or vUP,vDWN while connected to PC via USB.
Tried vUP,vDN,PWR or vUP,PWR or vUP,vDWN while NOT connected to PC via USB.
Phone sometimes reboots but always gets into the screen I mentioned above.
Odin, obviously, doesn't see the phone either.
Also, adb devices command deosn't show the device in the list.
Anything else I should try?
Ah I solved it, and nobody mentions that you have to be SUPER quick!?
So you hold down vol down + power button and keep the USB cable at hand and the millisecond your phone reboots, reeeealy quickly release vol down and power and quickly afterwards press vol down + vol up and again quickly plug in your USB cable, if you did it before the Samsung logo appears you will get into Downloading... screen.

Hello sir, I just want to thankyou alot this fixed my problem. I tried to install a android 13 gsi rom that I saw was compatible with my phone but the after I installed it had some bugs and I restarted my phone to go to download mode and flash a backup I had but the phone went into a bootloop with in to the recovery(i was using pbrp) and I couldnt get into download mode even to flash my stock rom. after I saw you post I tried it and it took me in to a screen that was saying you system has been corrupted and asked me if I wanted to go to download mode and said yes and flashed my rom and everything is working now
Thank you Again
so I just tried to install unofficial TWRP 3.5.0 on my Samsung galaxy a125m and everything went fine, Odin said done. Then I just tried to start TWRP by pressing power and vol up and it didn't start, so I thought I might have done something wrong and rebooted to download mode and flashed it again, Odin said done, then I unplugged the USB cable and now it won't boot, neither to the system or recovery, even to download mode, it did enter download mode a few times before but I pressed the wrong button and had to cancel and enter again, now it won't even enter download mode so I can't flash stock rom to fix bootloop... pls how can I solve this I'm desperate
when I try to enter download mode by pressing volume up + volume down it just shows up charging mode without any numbers, then it turn on and shows Samsung logo, unlocked bootloader warning screen, and the Samsung logo again, but then just restarts and repeats all again...
when I try to press volume up + volume down + power, nothing really happens...
someone help me please
You need to keep both volume up and down pressed, then plug in the charging cable. It should enter download mode, no need to press the power button like in older samsungs.

Is the cable plugged into a charger and on?
Have you considered that your volume buttons may not be working?
Same hear
Try attaching your phone to the PC, and then pressing volume down + power to reset the phone, (for about 7~8 seconds) then immediately press the volume down and up buttons, that's how I recovered from it. Tell me if it worked

Hello, unfortunately in these cases the only solution is to enter download mode, check if any button is damaged or if the cable works and if it is well connected, press the buttons harder, hold down the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time , by pressing the strong buttons, for about 6 seconds and then connect the cable. If you don't try another cable to see if that's the problem there is no other solution as the phone is not recognized by an app that can put it into download mode when turned off the solution is the one I already told you about. I hope you have fixed that problem. Sorry for my bad English.

@physwizz
I am having a similar problem with the Samsung A12 SM-a125u
I never could enter into this "Downloading mode".
I tried flashing the stock ROM through ADB with fastboot, and I have another problem that I've never seen before: ADB can see the device while in recovery mode, but fastboot can't. And so it won't allow me to flash the ROM and I don't even know how Odin is supposed to help yet; I think I needed to enter Downloading mode for that, but I can't get into it.
I'm working on this phone for a friend who was given it because his friend's mom doesn't remember the password to it. Does that matter? It's worth noting that because of that I cannot get in to turn on OEM unlocking or dev mode, but idk why that would come into play in recovery mode. Also, the model indicates this is an AT&T phone, and tutorials online have acknowledged this model in their "applicable models" list at the beginning of their tutorials, but I know that carrier phones can cause problems all over the place (stop buying carrier locked phones people!); is this a problem?
How the heck do I flash the stock ROM to this this?
