hi guys
im using S7 - rooted device. My facebook messenger app was working fine all the while, suddenly it stopped working (i didnt install any new apps).
Error - https://www.dropbox.com/s/3c3r0afyqchr5gt/2016-08-17_10-38-03.png?dl=0
I tried several options :
1) cleared messenger cache / data
2) cleared default message app cache / data
3) installed an older version of this apk from apkmirror
still the same. I will not be able to factory reset my phone. Any other known work around?
Thanks
Sam
Hi everyone, I've been facing problems to install whatsapp on my Galaxy Ace. It all started when I booted into CWM Recovery and selected the fix permissions option in advanced menu. After that I was able to install every compatible app except for whatsapp. I hav tried everything
Wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache
Wipe System, Data, Cache
Clearing download manager and google play store data. Uninstalling updates for google play
Flashing the official stock rom -Odin
Deleting the whatsapp folder from the root folder using ES file explorer
I tried installing whatsapp using Google play store and the app was installed, but when I run that app, I get an error message " whatsapp was not installed properly. Please reinstall the app from Google play store.
I'm fed up now. You are the only hope XDA. Plz help me out. Thanks - Ali Reza

You don't need root to update system apps, just toggle secure startup, reboot and install them
ok it seems real bug....i do master factory reset without restoring any data and problem still exist. so this is the real bug of this version.
what can i do now? im not root

how??
The issue is present only on BTU/XEU CSC (G930FXXU1DQJ3) ( Did not try others)
Tried PHN (G930FXXU1DQJ1) and ROM (G930FXXU1DQJ3). They are fine.
There is different Samsung Messages version 4.1.31 ( BTU/ROM ) vs Samsung Messages version 4.1.28 ( PHN ). So it should be related to something within CSC not within app version.
I fixed it by installing Samsung Messages 4.2.03.12 Latest version targeting Android 7.0. Newer versions will most likely create more problems.
You can also use Android Messages

Hello,
I'm having trouble installing APK's from APKMIRROR. In various applications of Samsung e.g. Gallery, Browser, TochWiz, Bixby, Calendar, Clock .... I always get the error message "Application not installed. Package is in conflict with another package with the same name".
I do not have root.
What is noticeable is that after an update from Android (also the monthly security patches) or at a factory reset I am able to install all system apps without problems (also the ones mentioned above) or to run an update. But if I restart the phone, it will not be possible to update system apps anymore. It is always the o.g. Error message displayed.
Can someone tell me why this is so or what I can do, so that the update always works?
Resetting the app (uninstall the updates / empty cache, etc.) brings nothing here.
Where is the problem?
Thanks for your help.
Toggle secure startup to on and then reboot your phone. Install the application.
Settings - Lock screen and security - secure startup. Check require password...
If it is already checked, uncheck it and reboot.
Sometimes you also need an wipe cache from recovery. After you install your app you can toggle secure startup to original state and reboot ?

Thanks for suggestion and link for samsung messages, it worked! The messages problem happened to me as well, on S7 edge dual sim G935FD, and italian update G935XXU1DRA2. Trying to understand what was happening I realised that the application did not crash with sms coming from a program (like those for adverts) but it crashed only for sms coming from a phone number either in the contacts or not.
thanks Marina
Hi.
Updated today to oneui 3.0
Exynos 512Gb eu market
Now package installer stopped working for sideloading apps.
Playstore, and samsung store working, but when try sideload from any file manager, given permissions, it just crashes.
Tryed clearing cache and data, tryed wipe cache, no change.
Okay..nobody had same issue?
Is there any way to reinstall package installer via adb? Or any other procedure to fix this, without hard reset?
solved by hard reset
