Hey man, glad to see some Sprint love finally. Cm13 doesn't require s-off to flash. It use to require others to downgrade firmware to 6.0 but as far as I know the Sprint version shipped with 6.0.1. Until I know for sure it won't bootloop right away I can't risk flashing. But once that is figured out I'll be happy to test.

Good to know thanks.
As for an update, I used the partition size from the hiaeul which is apparently different so CM wouldn't even flash lol. I am rebuilding now with the right partition sizes and should have a new build up later today. I will try to flash and report back as soon as I can.

Ok now it gets the "This build is for development purposes only..." message and boot loops there, I think I gotta do some work on the kernel. Will post another update as soon as I can, these fixes may take a little while.

Can someone with S-Off and/or super CID try the second build? The only message I can see that I think may be related in logs is telling me I don't have SuperCID, probably because I don't have S-Off. Not sure if thats really whats causing the bootloop, or if I am even looking at the right logs lol.

I have supercid and s-off
I have supercid and s-off. No flashing errors, no loops, just Hangs at the red "development build" screen... Been there at least 5 minutes and still nothing.

It started to loop after about 8 min and had to force back to twrp.... So s-off and supercid is no different...

Mine never makes it to the boot logo, it loops at the HTC screen without S-Off and/or SuperCID
Thanks for testing!
HRM, not sure where to go next, I could probably get some logs if I could make it to the CM boot animation.
So how to get S-Off when you don't have 25 bucks to spare for sunshine?

Broke down and went the sunshine route... Worked great and fast for s-off but no luck with sim unlock.

Hey I just uploaded another test, and building another one ATM too. If you have a minute can you test them, my wife has my phone so I won't be able to test for a little while. The first out of the 2 new ones is built from source with a few changes I put in place, and the second one is hacked together using some things from the rooted deodexed stock rom thats floating around.
I think there is a good chance one of these will work, but cannot guarantee it obviously.

:crying: still no joy, the one built from source still bootloops and the hacked together one just hangs at the same screen where it usually bootloops at.
I finally got some good logs though, maybe next build will boot.

No dice, huh?

Let me help you? I'm a great tester/I have knowledge on ROM building.

Any movement on this yet. Really looking forward to it. I'll test if you need... I'm running 1.60.651.xxx...

I'm s-off and super CID. Ready to test anything you wanna try...

Does anyone have back up of sprint stock recovery? Would be really helpful. Thanks

[ROM] Newest Sprint leak - RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.27.651.5_R_signed_release

Alright, so this has basically no optimizations or anything. Feel free to use this for whatever. I will have an update tonight for DamageControl based off of this new RUU that was leaked.
DOWNLOAD:
http://dl.damagedroms.com/SprintUpdate2.zip
Because I just flashed this myself, it is largely untested, so I take no responsibility for what this breaks/doesn't have/whatever. This is for those who can't wait but don't want to flash RUU because it will break root and you might not be able to get it back.
thanks for this damage. fixxxedrom v4 will now commence!
downloading to try this out
damage im sure your busy as hell atm but did you notice any changes with this at all? other than a new bootscreen?
excited excited excited
I have noticed very few changes.
I think the Sprint Nav app icon got changed, but then again I haven't seen it for awhile so I could be wrong. Small stuff like that.
Might give this a try! Thanks, babe.
nice boot screen
Got that itch to try it.....
Thx Damage
flashing now i shrunk the file by 10 megs removed junk i would not use
DCUPDATER
DUDE,jus wondering if you have guesstimated ETA on your version?Cause thats the only one im gonna trust. Also will i beable to update thru dcupdater? i have 2.08.1 right now.

Thanks damageless, I really appreciate the release, the only thing it needs is apps2sd, and It would be fantastic....
Taking a look through things after the flash, I've noticed the radio didn't upgrade to the latest w/ this zip. Assume ok to just flash manually from the attachment in the other thread?

Watch for my update tonight through DCUpdater. This ROM wasn't really modded in any way, just patched root and put Superuser on it, didn't even really test it much, so I don't know what's working/what's not, but I will know tonight when I get time to mess around with it and upload a new version of DamageControl

[RUU] Official 2.31.651.7 in ZIP Format, Flashable from Fastboot

As the title says, here's the Rom.zip extracted from RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.31.651.7_signed_release.exe for those that don't use Windows, or prefer to have their RUU in zip format.
This will flash your phone to 2.31.651.7 STOCK.
http://www.mediafire.com/?m6x4sr682ruk027
Simply rename this to HERCIMG.zip and place on the root of your SDCard.
Power your phone completely off.
Press and Hold VOL DOWN and POWER until your phone boots into HBoot mode.
Wait for it to verify the zip, then click <ACTION> (Trackball) to update, or <SEND> (Green Call) to cancel.
Enjoy!
Here's my guide to rooting .7:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804296
Personally..I want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
I have spent the last four hours searching for this. This needs to be stickied. I'm bookmarking it for sure. This got my phone unbricked..I thought all hope was lost and I would have to call in for warranty support (I got mine refurbed through Sprint last October..so I don't even know if I would still have any warranty support), and see if I could try my luck and getting it replaced, since that is what others have said to do as apparently this file from OP, did not exist.
And so for future reference, so that others don't go mindlessly searching through the forums.
If you
a.) Managed to overwrite your Recovery some how or completely delete it. (I did..and from searching this and many other forums over the past couple hours..I can see I wasn't the only one), and also have no boot (or a corrupted boot loop)
b.) Still have S-ON (You can find this out by powering off your phone and then pressing and holding the power button and the lower volume button), I recommend you turn S-Off for future reference if you're going to be dealing with customer ROMs a lot (so you don't have to go through the hell I just did..). See here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=759955
c.) Have an updated Hboot (1.47) (you can also find this info. in part b.)
....then you KNOW that you are stuck. Because you
a.) Cannot flash a ROM in Recovery because you cannot access it.
b.) You cannot access ADB because your phone won't go that far and will only go into fastboot..
c.) But even though you have access to fastboot you can't do ANYTHING like flash a recovery image or a ROM..or anything for that matter..because S is still ON. (this is the "not allow" messages you will see pop up.)
d.) You have bootloader 1.47 so if you for example, were like me couldn't use this file here.. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657086), because it would say there was a newer version and wouldn't install it.
So this file right here..was the only thing getting my phone back to a usable state. And considering that my searches have shown to pretty much give up all hope and have it sent it for warranty repair, then I think this thread deserves a bump for all those that have screwed up.
Yeah..I have to start ALL OVER now from a stock ROM (thank god for nandroid), but at least my phone isn't a dead brick.
Just thought this needed a well deserved bump.
I wonder if there is a RUU for the latest .2?

Forgive me for seeming NOOBish... but I can use this to do the same, then restore Nandroid back and it will keep the PRL/Profile update?
Just wondering... lolz, thanks!
Yup But you will have to reroot. This takes root from you. You will have to reroot with the Hero rooter from Reg or Z4 or one click root. But read read read. And as far as the prl/profile yup it will stick. When your phone boots up after running this just go into settings and updates and choose update profile and update prl don't update firmware. I repeat don't update firmware. After that just reboot and check your prl should be 60675. After that reroot, then flash a recovery and then nand restore. Hope this helps good luck
Remember this returns you to stock you will loose root and recovery..
Yea it's me Again. With the

Why don't you guys just flash NFX's or LS's already rooted and way faster stock sense ROM to update PRL, etc?
Running stock ROM has to be one of the worst things ever after being on custom ROMs for so long.
I tried flashing almost ever sense rom on here pmgrands port, ninfintes stock odex and deodex and his apps 2 sd builds he has like 4 or 6 different builds. Tried flashing liquids builds beta and stable. All gave me a error. So I had to use this. I couldn't flash any sense rom
and it was easier to use this than try to figure out y. If he can flash a sense rom then yea that's the easier way but if not this is a for sure way to get back to stock.

Yup. That's way better and faster. Just go into settings / updates. Then just update prl and profile. Don't update firmware. After you confirm that your updated just nand restore and you should be good.

Thanks for the reply's all... I like Sense and have NFX rom on my Hero, loaded a few ROMS but they won't update, so no worries, when I have some free time I'll sit and do it then. I don't like the one click rooters nor the clockwork recovery, I guess I'm old school and do it the hard way, lol, but thanks for letting me know it'll work (prl update) and stay on the handset!
Regards!
Without opening a huge can of worms I would like to know whats the best newest rom out there with sense I just searched for like 3 hours and lot of threads are old and I want what ever is new with sense also would like to upgrade to 2.2 im on Honeybun v.-2 lite firmware 2.1 update1

[Q] No OS Installed - 3.18 Unlocked S=On

Followed the steps in Hassoon's toolkit, installed recovery, sideloaded CM, and now I have no OS. I can still access fastboot and recovery, see attached image for more info. Any more information needed, please let me know. This is pretty frustrating, no wonder I like Nexus devices.
(sorry for double posting, I also put this in Hassoon's thread, but felt it'd be more appropriate to post here)
first man... you'll only be able to use sense roms most likely, as the newer aosp roms dont mix with the upgraded touchscreen on the 3.18 firmware. so you can head to the original dev section to find the "downgrade touchscreen" thread to use aosp...
second, you have to fastboot flash the boot.img of every rom because the newer hboots dont allow it. easy solution to that is to go to original dev section and follow the s-off thread. if you can s-off you can say bye bye to fastboot for the most part
Also, you need to S-OFF to downgrade touchscreen firmware.
But yeah, if you can get into recovery just wipe everything and flash a rom.. (has to be sense until you s-off and downgrade touchscreen firmware)

Never thought I had to pull the boot image out, flash that through fastboot, THEN install the OS. Thanks for the help guys, I tested it out with the copy of CM I had (unofficial port on the threads) and sure enough, it booted up fine. Of course, as stated previously, I can't click anything b/c of the upgraded touchscreen, so I'm omw to flashing a sense rom and getting s-off and a downgraded touch screen. Thanks for the help guys!

Yea man its a pain to get everything going. But once you s-off, downgrade etc this phone really flies on aosp. There's also an (optional) thread in development section to rid the splash screen of the red text. Its a simple 3 step process that should only take 20 seconds. After that you're golden

are you using a sense rom or aosp?
you need to be on a sense rom since your hboot is 2.14 because aosp requires you change a setting to allow you to soff which you cant since the touchscreen doesnt work.
if you are already on a sense rom. simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding power on your phone till the capacative buttons blink a bunch of times and then it shuts off. then try again.

if a simulated battery pull isnt working for you, you can paste your cmd prompt window in here and i can check if anything weird is going on.
usually it should work by the third try or so if not after the first simulated battery pull.

Has anyone tried unzipping it and rezipping without the bootloader, etc and tried flashing it rather than using odin and replacing the bootloader everything? I am working on that as we speak, just wondering if someone has done it already and what their experience was as far as what worked. I imagine there will be some issues with wifi or what not.

I was working on it the other day and just got to busy. There is a rom already in the I9505 thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555569
The only catch is from what I have read that the Wifi will not work unless you odin the leak first. For some reason it seems that you have to have the new leaked bootloader. I have talked to a couple of the people that made a zip flash keeping the bootloader we are on, but no wifi. I stopped working on making a zip after I found that out. I have thought about using odin to flash the leak then flashing the Rom from the link above, but am not sure if I would be able to go back to the roms that I am running on the old bootloader. I am just going to wait until some people that knows what they are are doing picks the leak apart more. Anywho if you are interested goto that thread above and do some reading. I personally am just going to stay away until we know more about the new bootloader. I know that the leak can be rooted though because chainfire released an update specifically for the 4.4.2 leak.

I did try flashing with Odin a day ago, I'm assuming since the Download Mode has "No authorization" it's due to the locked bootloader we have. About 10% into the flash it fails with an authorization error... I'm going to look into that thread to see if I can learn more...trial and error is a great learning tool for me

I did try flashing with Odin a day ago, I'm assuming since the Download Mode has "No authorization" it's due to the locked bootloader we have. About 10% into the flash it fails with an authorization error... I'm going to look into that thread to see if I can learn more...trial and error is a great learning tool for me

known bugs
Hi so far after using for the last two days I notice when holding the home button for open apps what ever you press will always open the last app used and not what you have selected!
Andy the native Samsung e mail app continuously tells me about e mails I've viewed
That is all so far!
what kernel are you using?

Well after hours of farting around with their build and mine, I pretty much lost interest with the ROM now. Their build definitely has WiFi broken. I'm not sure if it's kernel related or not.
I think I'm with you on waiting for this to improve before using. Besides CM11 with Google Experience Launcher is looking and feeling great this past month...
Here is a like to Echoe13_4.4.2Deodex_12JAN2013.zip it works but you need to loki patch it and wifi don't work.

hello my friends somebody have one solution for the problem of wifi in rom stock o custom deodex of echoe in 4.4.2... And please can explainme what is the loky patch...? tks for your help and sorry for my english..!
Loki only has to be flashed on the At&t variant of the S4 after installing a zip that was not an At&t rom. The WiFi issue I believe is from not updating the bootloader via OTA and possibly kernel tweaks as well but it will get there. We have great devs for this device.

You need a kernel made from the 4.4.2 source code which has not been released yet for the wifi.
For loki patch on att, download loki-doki, put it on your SD, go to recovery, flash rom, flash loki doki. If you are using a rom made for att chances are the kernel will already be patched.

what kernel were you guys using on the echoe roms? I couldn't get past the boot screen and it hung using the i337m Canadian variant which should be the same as their TMO version minus the leaked bootloader.
There is a new NA5 leak out. I am in the I337 and have tried the NA1 leak Roms Indies Omega and Echoe and I always hang up on the boot menu. Guess we will have to wait for the official and the Kernel info for it to work for us.

I didn't know there was a nlthread on this on my native device. I Have been posting on the Tmobile thread since the leak first came out.
I also unpacked both Leaks and repacked only their respective boot, system and cache files and successfully flashed via Odin. the cool part was that I didn't lose root and only needed to add the new supersu. I had a titanium backup zip which I also flashed.
the problems are as follows
1. No WiFi. attempting to flash KT kernel bricked it. had to start all over
2. Security settings caused a FC. so couldn't enable installation from unknown sources.
3. Restoring user apps using Titanium backup (after freezing all Knox apps) worked. but adding any system apps caused a bad series of forced closures
so unless u have got an unlimited data plan, this is just something to play around with for now it would seem
AFAIK I337M devices share the same hardware with I9505 ones; so can I flash I9505XXUFNA5 onto my I337m?

The bootloader would block odin from accepting the full package. The best u can do is pick n choose parts to flas like i did. And you'll end up with a similar scenario
But you could use this modified version and search for Magical unicorn kernel and see

@gangsta101: so what bits did you chose to flash? is AP and CP and exclude BL and CSC for instance?

NFC Icon Flashing In Status Bar - But No Option Anymore

Ok guys, so I messed up and flashed the Viper Rom onto my phone. I am Boost mobile (K2_CL) and didn't realize it wasn't supported, luckily I had backed up through TWRP so I went to restore that backup and now I have an issue with the NFC. The NFC icon in the status bar quickly, like miliseconds quickly, flashes ever half second. I don;t have the NFC settings in my menu anymore either like previously. I even backed up my wifes One SV and restored hers on mine, which has never been tampered with until today, and even with her restore it is doing it on my phone. Any ideas on hos to make it stop and get the function back again?
There are different partition layouts between european and boost roms. So it seems, it has some firmware parts overwritten. In this case you can't solve that with a backup or flashing another rom.
I would try to run the available RUU for your phone, maybe it can restore things.

I tried an old RUU and it wouldn't take, I want to go back as far as I can and update my phone back to current if possible, even if I have to go back to an older Hboot, just so I know everything is A-OK
I guess you need to downgrade hboot first. And therefor you need S-Off.

i cannot get my device to s-off for anything, it now is just boot looping unless i wipe it again and put my old restore back in, which again has the flashing nfc icon that is killing my battery
its not exactly boot looping, it starts up for about 1 min and then reboots, unless I restore it... Please help me!
