Anybody actually seen the July or October 2016 security updates?!?!

Has ANYONE seen these at all, or is this some kind of Lenovo trick to say "look, we are putting out updates... I don't why you didn't get it" kind thing (doubtful, but who knows).
Just throwing this out there to stir the pot a little...

Checked on 6.0.1 with Marsh security patch but got nothing .. Don't know what Moto wanna tell us by this

Yes there is a thread for firmware files in general section where you can find the build for xt1550 with july security patches.

Some people are saying that they have successfully updated their phone with the security patch. I myself didn't see those. By any case, is it possible that the Motorola updater doesn't download security updates on unlocked bootloader devices (though that shouldn't be the case as per the FAQ)?

Guys does it mean that moto can announce nougate soon or it just a hope

Nothing can be said with absolute confidence. Though it is true that the chance is very very slim.

There is no sign the petition, even signed by over 16,800 users, has made any difference... We know Moto get an email with each and every signature, and yet they haven't even acknowledged it exists. Silence can be taken in many ways, maybe they think it will just go away if they ignore it, maybe they can't actually defend themselves for their decision, or maybe they just don't care.

Not absolute confidence, but absolute isn't necessary here, just significant confidence is enough... Moto has stated flat out the Moto G 2015 won't get Nougat, and they haven't wavered at all in that stance, there is no realistic reason to think otherwise.
But this thread isn't really about Nougat, but about the July and October security updates... which Moto wants people to think are out there somewhere.

Don't worry that was official only. someone has denied but that doesn't mean all info i got was wrong. The info was given by internal aources only

From reading, it requires TWRP, so it may also break KNOX. Sorry, I have a 955U, so I can't really help you any further than that.

Sorry, English is not my mother tongue. You say you have come back to Oreo, haven't you? If you're under Oreo, then you must be receiving a notification which tells you to update to pie. My question is: do you know how to get rid of that notification permanently? It is annoying.
