Hi community !
I'm refering to the huge community here because I have an issue with my TF700 when I'm trying to watch streaming videos on dpstream.net
We I have received my tab, I've directly installed the adobe flash player for ICS package.
I'm used to Chrome, so I installed it. When I was going to dpstream.net, I was able to watch movies without any problem.
Then suddenly (or not suddenly but I can't figure what was the trigger) I wasn't able to watch streaming movies anymore. BUT, when using the stock browser (so not chrome anymore), it was still working.
The problem is that, since yesterday, nothing is working ! Neither Chrome nor the stock browser.
What am I supposed to do ?
For your information,
- I'm able to watch Youtube from the browser (so not using Youtube App).
- I'm able to watch movies on dpstream from my laptop (so not an issue with my account there)
- When I'm clicking on Flash Player Settings (on my TF700 / Applications), it opens a browser but empty (no settings available).
Does someone has a suggestion to solve this issue ?
Thanks in advance !
What format is the video streaming in? If it's divix or avi then I don't know if those can be played through a browser. When I've tried streaming those formats I get a unsupported format icon. I can play flash video streams using stock or boatbrowser. I don't know about chrome as I don't use it. I think chrome does not support adobe flash player so it wouldn't work. You can also try setting the browser to load as a desktop and not a mobile site.
Hello , I did remake my own custom rom in kitchen and after i get a problem. I did only change in defaultly installed apps.
I cant play videos on internet.
My browser is opera , i have MX player and also Mobo player and also default Video player from the original custom rom Japanese Jellifish RLS 9 .
I cant play any video in mobile profile of opera and in desktop profile i can play directly via opera but with the message
Error in desktop profile i get trying to view video
Open video
No application can perform this action
Error in mobile profile i get trying to view video
Not Supported
The protocol used in vnd.youtube:_ransuVOQC8? vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch&vnddnc=1 is not supported
I installed also firefox but there is the same problem.
Open video
No application can perform this action
It looks like the web browser does not know which player it should use for play the video.
Otherwise , android does not have information abouth players in his data ...where to set it. and how...???? i do not know.
Ichecked also the file assotiations but there is correct set for any video file set "video/*" VIEW. maibe there is no the correct file type set... but how to find out the type ???
HOW HOW... pls hlp.
I did also installed flash player , but still the same problem.
I do not know what to do .
If can someone help me ... please .

Hi!
Download Dolphin Browser from Google Play.
and then go to:
dolphin lab - search for it in Google
and download flash player
Set flash player as "always on" in settings of Dolphin Browser and set user agent as PC.
You can also download adblock from Dolphin Lab but in some cases you need to disable it (sidebar) to watch a stream.
Without dolphin browser and flash player I dont have any sound as well:/ Maybe somebody will help with this issue? I would prefer to watch streams without flash player (it "eats" my battery really fast) but without sound I stay with the flash player solution. Soon I will have the Lollipop update and it seems that flashplayer no longer works with Dolphin Brower under Android L.
PS. Im not allowed to post external links (I need at least 10 post on XDA forum) so if you have a problem then send me a message.

Thanks fo
Thanks for your reply.I use android stockbrowser for watching live streaming through flash, but i think the quality of video is better playing it by 3rd party media player.I tested also other media players but unfortunatelly no sound!!!Maybe the fault is hiden not in media players, but somewhere else in the decryption of the audio files.
Hi all guys !
In the past i used mxplayer for playing video from my browser (chrome/dolphin).
Now, with android 5.1.1 i'm not able to choose mxplayer for streaming online video.
I did these things without any luck:
-full wipe
-change rom (slimlp, cm12..)
-look into app manager for change default app
-use default app manager (from play store) for select mxplayer as default video player. Videos continue to open on stock browser player.
My device: oneplus one, root, broken os rom, boeffla kernel.
Please help, have a good day.

Many browsers has implemented their own players using mediaplayer api.
If you have stock browser try that. It may work.

Is possible to disable this mediaplayer api ? currently on my setup i don't have stock browser, in the future i will try with stock browser.
For now i solved some of my problems doing this: dolphin browser+jetpack+flash player always on (+flash player apk).
Thanks a lot
Were you able to install flash player apk on latest Android 5.1.1 or did you fetch some modded apk?
I have just obtained flash player apk from http://androidpicks.com/adobe-flash-player-latest-apk-download/ as this site claims it can be used on Android 5.0 and later. The same apks are also available on Adobe's archive pages. Seems like these can be used on later versions as well although these were developed for Android 4.0 and previous versions. The pathetic thing is Adobe has abandoned flash for android. And it seems like they are going to abandon it for Windows as well.
Besides, you should also try UC Browser as that still gives option to play videos with external player. Otherwise, it's builtin player is also no less than MX.

Click the button on the upper right corner of Jetpack and then select mxplayer from the list. If it still doesn't work, you can send an email to [email protected]. That's what I always do.
Hi guys, please help me out.
Sometimes I want to browse through my videos on my phone using ES File Explorer. Whenever I try to play a video, a list of applicable video players pops up. Of course, MX Player is on the list and I set that to default.
Here's the problem: When I want to play videos on the network (from my PC) using ES File Explorer, the list does not show MX Player at all so I can't use it to play my videos and most of them are even in MKV format. Even VLC for Android that I installed for testing won't show up on the list. I was surprised that QuickPic's video player is on there and I didn't even know they had a player. I can play videos over the network using MX Player w/ no problems on my Asus Zenfone 5 and OnePlus X which has Lollipop. I'm assuming this could be something with Marshmallow since my current device is a Moto X Pure with Android 6.0. I already emailed the dev team of ES and I yet to receive a reply from them.
I was thinking, if QuickPic can be detected by ES, maybe something could be done with MX Player as well.
Any ideas?
I had the same issue, but it got resolved by itself somehow. But I switched to Solid Explorer anyways. Much better.

Were you on Marshmallow when you had the issue?
I guess I'll try other file managers first. I'll give Solid a look.
Yes, on a nexus 5x. After I received my phone back from the repair centre it worked again, so a hard reset might have helped it.
You might have touched app links Settings available on marshmallow devices.

Nope. I haven't touched any of the settings like App Links. They're all on default.
Anyways, when I tried Solid Explorer, MX Player shows up on its list (finally!) but for certain file types only like MKV. Whenever I want to play MP4 videos, MX is no longer on the list. I guess it's also a file type issue of some sort.

Go to App Links Settings & check whether it's enabled for all file types or not. Similar incidents are reported earlier & found that app links Settings was the problem.

The issue is with marshmallow. They have done it that way
:| any workaround? any other apps that can allow mx player to stream over LAN? I believe it used to work with my previous phone. I had an s7 that turned out not to be waterproof and I had to buy another one (also s7) and now it does not work...

Actually it's a bug with earlier marshmallow. Later it's fixed by Google. Just install any new video player you never had installed or intent intercept. Everything will back. Then you can uninstall the new app.
I have found a workaround for this bug & it's already applied by the Developer. Hopefully it will be on the next version.

Can you check whether the issue is resolved or not..?
I think its should work with yesterday's update.

Seems to work fine now with ES. Though I actually moved to Solid Explorer a few weeks back and MX works pretty well with it.
Thanks!

Solid explore has some issues as well. It doesn't pick activities based on URI pattern. When it doesn't know the extension (for eg VOB), it just sends mimetype as */* which results in list of all activities available in system. Literally it will bring a large list with unnecessary apps & difficult to choose the right app.

I was facing same problem.
It doesn't need to switch either your file browser of player.
Just go to settings >> Access Permissions >> App Links >> Go to MX player & do the following settings..
"Go to "Open Supported links" & choose " Open in this App" OR "Ask Every Time".
It worked on OPX ( Marshmallow).
Hope it works for you..
I had just the same issue with ES 1.05 pro on galaxy Note 4, 6.0.1. I tried to fix by going in phone settings, application manager, ES file explorer, and there the button Clear defaults was active, so I hit it but again mkv files open with native es explorer video player and not MX player. For avi files it asks me how to open them and which player to use. Very strange. I got confused because it worked with mkv yesterday on my phone and I haven't done anything special.
Where is this "settings >> Access Permissions >> App Links" - in phone settings or es settings? I can't find it.
I uninstalled ES and then restored it through AppBackup&restore and it works now, strange.
Turn your mxplayer from hardware (HW) to software (SW) decoding. The button is on the main screen. I bet it says HW. Software decoding supports more file types including mp4 and mkv. Failing that, just rename your file with a avi extension (let mx player sort it out), then you will be able to select mxplayer from the list of players. L8r D

It's firmware bug on marshmallow devices. You have to just uninstall/disable the app that's set to default. Once you have done, MX Player will be listed again. Then you may install the app you have uninstalled.
