Title pretty much says it, I have a custom rom installed which works, but when reboot my phone, TWRP is automatically opened after the initial samsung logo. I usually have to reflash my custom ROM (without wiping any data besides cache and dalvik) and the ROM installer will then reboot into the ROM, however this means when my phone turns off, my recovery is booted up instead of the ROM. I'm really confused
S6 is a SM-G920F / ROM= Tyrannus v 28.1
Some background into the problem - [This is a quote from my previous post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ing-stock-t3423351/post67859895#post67859895] "When i tried flashing however, somehow ODIN froze and i made another stupid mistake of restarting my phone from download mode which resulted in the phone being froze on a screen saying " an error has occurred while updating the device software use the emergency recovery function s6 "
So after this happened i then flashed TWRP with odin to solve the quoted error message and i think it was at that point that the bootloader was configured to initialize recovery on bootup as oppose to the actual ROM, not sure though so any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
TL ;DR : S6 boots recovery instead of ROM - Possibly bootloader error?
Sooo... it fixed itself. All is well.
If anyone else ever has this problem all i can really suggest is perhaps going into terminal on TWRP and writing reboot? However, my one just fixed itself so we all good!

Phone: LG Spectrum
ROM: Cyanogen 10.1 3 or something
CWM: 6.0.4.7
I was in the process of manually installing CWM Touch via Rashr Flash Tool to replace an old 6.0.1.1 non-touch version i had on it before, and when I successfully got it installed, the app asked if I wanted to reboot into recovery. So I pressed yes, and it did.
Unfortunately, it never seemed to remove it afterwards because after every single reboot, it kept going back to recovery, not loading the android OS.
I've tried the following with no success:
Clearing data factory reset
Clearing cache
Clearing Dalvik cache
Full restore to V6 stock
Full restore to Cyanogen (I made a backup when I first got to CWM Touch)
This is the current behavior of my phone:
When powered on, it will display the LG logo, then it will flicker to black and then fade in the LG logo again, 5 seconds later recovery boots. If phone was off and you insert USB cable to charge, the LG logo appears, but the battery mode sort of screen never comes after. Its just stays at the LG logo, and never turns off the display.
It will keep rebooting to recovery no matter if I even tell the recovery to reboot to bootloader.
I don't know exactly how the bootup structure is for androids but the only thing I can think of that may be the issue is the recovery itself if it wasn't the app that caused this. It just doesn't make sense that after a full restore, it would still have an issue, other than the recovery itself, UNLESS there is some secret boot instruction file that's stuck with a "Reboot_to_Recovery = 1" parameter.
Since this thing is stuck in a recovery boot, how would I be able to manually, without OS access, reflash another version of CWM on the device? Or if there's another possible way to fix this, please help me.
Maybe the ROM hasn't flashed on your phone properly .try again with a clean flash. may help
HiT Thank$ If HelPed
I believe this is independent of the ROM. I had noticed in preparing to flash a new ROM that instead of restarting to the OS, it restarted to the recovery. I didn't take much note of this, but it was clear that this problem began when I flashed the new recovery. Also, the fact that I had used 2 seperate, very different restores (full restores) with no success means that it couldn't have been the ROM.
My only probably clue right now is that the recovery is to blame (which is weird since CWM notes 6.0.4.7 as compatible with LG Spectrum. I had 6.0.1.1 before with no issue). I have no idea how to change this recovery however, given that I can't even boot the OS at all, and there doesn't seem to be a "flash recovery' option in recovery (which is kinda annoying).
Hi. Just got a Note2 which was running 4.4.2
I downloaded Odin3-v3.07 and got root access. I then used a checker to confirm.
From there, I used the TWRP Manager to install 2.8.7.0.
I think this is where things went wrong. I know I selected the correct phone model, but it gave me an error saying something went wrong ( I think it said something about me having the latest TWRP) . Then my phone rebooted and took me into TWRP.
I made a backup and tried to flash the CM12 rom for sgh-i317m.
That's when I noticed I couldn't get out of TWRP. Rebooting or pulling the battery has no effect. Phone keeps booting into TWRP. I tried wiping delvic cache, cache and other things, but no matter what I do I can't boot into the OS. I tried restoring and it says it was successful, but again am stuck in TWRP. I've now spent the last hour searching for a way to get out and still can't find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Notes:
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I had forgotten to enable USB debugging when I was in my OS.
Another thing I noticed is when I open the terminal command, there's a running boot script error: E:/sbin/runatboot.sh process ended with ERROR=1
Problem resolved: I booted into download mode and used Odin to root again. That seem to overwrite whatever was causing the Note 2 to be stuck booting into TWRP.
I enabled USB debugging and installed TWRP again. Got the same error but this time chose not to reboot into recovery. Then I rebooted manually, and the phone boots into the OS. I powered down and held Vol up + power + menu and released power button at Samsung logo, and was successful in booting into TWRP. Exited and rebooted took me back to the OS. So I'm not quite sure what it was the first time around that got me stuck into booting TWRP everytime.
Glad you got it fixed! :good:
I'll close this thread.
Dear all,
I have read through most (if not all) the other "bricked" device threads, but they don't really fit my problem.
I was on TWRP (sthg) and CM 12.1 (latest) here from the forum.
Everything worked fine for ages.Yesterday I used the device to the latest miliAmpere and only later the connected the complete empty Tab to the Power and restarted it.
Next morning the device showed "Encryption failed" and something that I have to do a factory reset. There was a "reset"-button, but I didn't used it and shutted down the Tab via the power Off function.
Since then the device is not reacting. Currently it is bootlooping into TWRP (!). I cannot switch it off and it actually gets rather hot. The only way to stop this "cycle of death" is to go to download mode...
I already tried to change the recovery to CWM and also to TWRP again via ODIN. ODIN worked fine, but I still cannot start the recovery. TWRP makes a boot loop with its logo and CWM loops without showing anything.
I wonder what will be the next best steps. Odin is working fine, so I don't want to ruin that as well.
What do you think? Is the Bootloader corrupt?
Why does it always boot into recovery (I can't get into a System-Bootloop)?
Any help is really appreciated!
Best,
Jan
After I have reinstalled the original firmware from sammobile, I could boot into recovery. I then factory reseted, flashed TWRP via ODIN and switched back to CM12.1.
I lost all my data, but at least I still have my Tab

I attempted to switch custom rom and end up in a brick situation.
What actually happened:
I rooted my device and installed twrp successfully.
Then I found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4i/development/rom-lineageos-15-0-t3671815
I was really interested in switching to custom rom and downloaded all necessary stuff.
(Here comes my mistake) I boot to twrp and flashed the latest firmware (8.1.5.0), wipe cache, latest rom build (LOS 15.1),wipe cahe, gapps, wipe cache and reboot to system. (all process altogether)
Now device stucked at MI logo and never booted to system again. And unable to boot to twrp mode too.
What i tried to resolve(but failed):
Device was showing lineage battery icon but nothing else was happening. So i decided to return back. I flashed my device with latest stock flashboot rom "ferrari_global_images_V9.2.3.0.LXIMIEK_20180414.0000.00_5.0_global_680c582f20" and successfully flashed it as while charging i got led light back and stock battery icon but issue remain the same. Stucked at boot loop.
I also tried Fastboot Flash Through CMD-Prompt https://in.c.mi.com/thread-334-1-0.html
But still not working. I think it must be due to firmware upgrade to oreo and if downgrade is possible, issue can be resolved but not sure and don't really know how to execute that.
Please help me in solving this issue and whatever suggestion you give please provide proper guidance or link to guidance as I'm still new to all this.

I was trying to get lineageos on my s6 edge+ but it is stuck in a samsung logo loop after being unable to flash the rom and now it won't go back into TWRP either.
Initially I flashed the official TWRP for the zenlte which worked fine, it just did not want to install the rom due to apparently not having any device data. (Rom is for zenlte, this device is . (or something along those lines))
after a few attempts and doing a quick wipe I flashed an unofficial twrp and thats when it started looping without being able to get back into recovery mode.
Download mode does still work after a power off but flashing the official twrp again makes no difference.
This is a little beyond me and I'm not entirely sure what is going on.
The last phone I installed a custom rom on was an s4 so I'm a bit out of the loop with this new security stuff. I would have expected to at least be able to boot back into twrp.
Ok some progress:
Recovery mode worked again after leaving phone off (but still attached to computer) for a while. (I had given up but decided to try again after a few hours)
Partitions were missing / corrupted. Did a full format.
Installing rom still gave the 'device type is .' message.
Edited the rom zip to allow "" and " " ( in META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script )
Flashed rom + gapps + magisk in 1 go.
This ended up in LineageOS trying to start but rebooting into recovery after about 5 minutes.
Re-instralled just the rom, this gave a few errors about Magisk missing, re-installed Magisk as well before wiping cache and rebooting.
Now it came up with the welcome screen rather quickly.
Weird, but problem solved any ways.
Thanks! That was also my problem.
