[Q] LG GFlex 2 LS996 (Sprint GFlex 2) Cutom recovery and custom rom? - LG G Flex 2

Hi,
I have a Sprint LG-Gflex2 (LS996) which is rooted. But this is my first time with a non-international variant of a phone.
I have fare share of experience with rooting and custom roms on devices : nexus one, nexus 7,Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3,HTC One X, Note 2(n7100). All were international variants.
This time around i have a non-international variant of a phone. It is unlocked and rooted running international GSM sim.
Some of these questions may sound like noob questions . But i don't want an expensive paperweight
Not much help is there for LS996 or even international Gflex 2.
If you have any experience with non-international variant, please provide input:good:
My concern is :
Does it cause any problem when installing a custom recovery on these devices? or is it same as on an international variant?
Is there any additional step required with such devices to be able to run a custom recovery and rom?
If in case i have to move back to stock recovery, will it lock the device again for international GSM?
If everything works and i am able to install a custom rom, does that mean the GSM sim will continue to work on that rom without any issues?
The ROM manager app does not list this device but still i can install 2.x or 3.x version of CWM. But does doing that from ROM manager is safe? What to do if it goes into bootloop?

There is no way to get unlock bootloader on G Flex 2, so you can't install any custom recovery or custom ROM :crying:
if your device goes into bootloop, you can try to flash kdz or tot file of stock ROM...

[Q] (Q) Good Factory Rom for selling my device

Hey people. I just bought a Nexus S and to my disappointment I bought the GT-19020a (att) and I am on the T-mobile network so no 3G+ Does anyone know of a good ROM to use for selling my device? I would like for it be a factory ROM but still unlocked. Again it would need to be for the 19020a (att). Any help would be appreciated.
If you want a stock rooted rom and you have rom manager on you phone looks under drewgaren roms in the download section there is a stock one there.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
Just grab the full stock rom and flash via CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
This will in no way change the status of the boot loader. If you want it to be rooted you'll just have to reflash the su binary via recovery.

Urgent help - Is possible to do this?

Since my AT&T ICS 4.04(final update) Atrix 2 won't pass beyond the M logo (have been flashed like ten times), I need someones help.
I can't downgrade to GB because would brick the phone forever or upgrade to a newer version. Or flash a custom ROM because the phone is not rooted and doesn't have any custom recovery tool installed.
So, I was thinking, maybe if I could flash an already rooted system and a custom recovery using RSDLite, could boot into the custom recovery, install a custom ROM and see if I can fix my phone.
Or maybe flash(RSDLite) a backup(or only the files need for this purpose) made by any user of the forum.
Is that possible? Please help.

It would be better to ask all the questions in one thread itself, rather than making new ones each time for a newer question.
RSDLite can't flash files which aren't signed by Motorola, hence no pre-rooted or custom recovery installed ROM can be flashed this way, since they won't have Motorola signatures.

[Completed] [Q] Cannot Flash SGH-T999

Hey Guys need you HELP.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 which was running on android 4.3 (official rom). I rooted the device and also flashed ClockworkMod Recovery which was successfull.
I tried few roms and it did not work and i got an error which siad I have a d2spr device and the rom i was trying to install was meant for d2tmo.
now how is that possible? d2spr is for Sprint and d2tmo is for T-Mobile... and my device is T999 (T Mobile) (I REALIZED THIS AFTER MESSING UP MY DEVICE)
Later I flashed it with a custom rom via recovery menu and after that i tried loading GAPPS also from recovery mode. The custom rom was ok but gapps failed to install.
After falshing the custom rom i checked about device and it says the model number was dat of a sprint mobile (i747)
I tried other custom roms and gapps.zip but now my phone will not boot...when i turn it on it shows the SGS3 CWM screen and reboots into recovery.
No luck trying to flash it with a stock rom using odin either.
NEED SERIOUS HELP PLEASE!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. First, only flash roms that are specific for your exact device. With your model number changing like it is it appears you've flashed some roms for other devices. You may not be able to recover the device. but see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687

I presume you are also on the 4.4.2 bootloader and modem, and not on an earlier bootloader/modem pair and a custom 4.4.2 ROM. If this is true, NE1 bootloader and modem, you have very few options. I think there are three ROMs to choose from: stock, SuperLiteROM, and PaulPizz. Before installing either of the last two you will need to root and then install the Unofficial SafeStrap. Links to SafeStrap are in the OPs for the two ROMs. SafeStrap will tell you how to root, I used TowelRoot two months ago.
If flashing the ROM you choose does not fix the APNs then you may need to reflash the modem that corresponds to your bootloader version. If you are uncertain about the versions of your bootloader and modem you can check with a PlayStore app, Phone Info *Samsung* by vndnguyen. Another option for checking is these commands in a Terminal Emulator:
Code:
getprop ro.bootloader
getprop | grep version.baseband
thnk's men , but now i have another , before i don't know , so i installed rom manager and CWM recovery , now when i boot in recovery i get this
secure fail : kernel
system software not authorized by verizon wireless
i can't fix , i can't enter in recovery :/

That was the point of my other post.
You said you were on 4.4.2. If you have the 4.4.2 bootloader (I535VRUDNE1), you can not flash any AOSP or CM based ROM. Your only option in this case would be to install Safestrap and then one of the two ROMs which I linked. You can not downgrade this bootloader without bricking the phone. If must use one of these ROMs to get a custom ROM, you could flash SuperLiteROM and use XPosed and it's mods to tweak your device.
There is the possibility that your phone has an earlier bootloader and a 4.4.x custom ROM, this would let you flash CM or AOSP. I posted two ways to check your bootloader version. I recommend you do one of these before trying to flash anything else to avoid bricking the phone. If you have the NE1 bootloader look back to my previous post.

[Completed] LG Leon H345 - Can't Install TWRP & Roms??

I have the LG Leon H345 on T-Mobile as my secondary phone. I successfully rooted it, but I can't install TWRP via the Play Store (I've never used it before, I'm used to flashing recoveries with Fastboot). Is there a detailed guide that's available that can lead me on the right track? Also I seen one ROM for the MetroPCS that requires an unlocked bootloader. How can I unlock the bootloader on this phone? And is it possible to flash a ROM for the MetroPCS on the T-Mobile LG Leon?
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
It seems you can flash TWRP on this device and a custom rom at least: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-12-1-lg-leon-t3166642
