Magpie Layers partial compatible with STOCK MOTO ROM

For all those who use layers and love to theme their device should probably not update to 6.0.1 as the latest firmware is partially compatible with the layers.
Also when you will flash the Google contacts and dialer themable, you can't disable the aosp contacts as then neither you can call someone nor the phone will show you if someone calls you. It will just vibrate and ring up.
Edit - Only magpie theme isn't working atleast for me. Also for Google dialer to work as default app, you have to set it up as the default app.

Layers not working? That's bad news. I finally made the decision to try out 6.01 and searched for some more info and then i saw this thread, lol.

I don't know. The magpie theme's primary accent and secondary accent doesn't work but destiny's accents work.
The developer of magpie theme says it's something to with the 6.0.1 rom not the theme.
Magpie works partially while destiny works fully.

Are you sure they are not made for LP only? I searched for the marshmallow supported paid and free layers in layers showcase,but I couldn't find the layers you are talking about.
Happy to hear something is working so hope they find a fix soon.
Edit: Its in the play store only. Cool, I thought the layers in the play store were the same as in layers showcase. So that means more layers to search.

Thanks gonna check them out. Inversion is nice one. Transparent is at the moment my favourite because you can customize a lot and every update something else added. Thanks for the recommendations.

If x play had an amoled screen, I would have loved a dark theme but on the bright led of x play, white looks so good.

That's very true and maybe the reason the battery last so long. Set the brightness low and its still bright and white.

The theme that isn't working is Magpie and when I contacted that developer, he said nothing has changed in the theme. It might be problem in your rom.

And yes I loved magpie but the developer of that theme is very hard in dealing with users atleast that's what impression I got of him.

the reason why it is trial is because i'm doing in unofficially
samsung rejected my request for 3 times
so i started making themes unofficially.
you can make it permanent by using methods mentioned in the OP

The above idea at the Op doesnt work for me do you have alternative ways for it to work for me... Package disabler says my phone is rooted so it cant work and galaxyxmod is comaptible with s7 only i am on note 7 port on Note 3

If you are rooted then go to data/overlay/jsonfiles/trialjson then move the file to userjson then go back to overlays and delete preferences folder

yes all those themes are free
it's just that i made it unofficially so it appears in themes as trial.

It constantly switches back to normal touchwiz theme, what should I do.
What I did was that, i installed the given apk and then went to the theme store and clicked on free trial, it then changed my theme to samoled dark green theme, and then, after few minutes, it switched back to the stock touchwiz theme.
What should I do???

I apologize for the absence and silence. I'm excited that people here are trying to help out others too. I know the answers to some of the questions asked and I'm sorry for the silence. I went camping over the weekend and returned home to 2 giant bombs on my life. I've been working out some personal issues since then. I haven't played with apktool 2.2.4, but I'm excited about it. I'll get back to this as soon as I can, and hopefully this will bring some exciting updates
Here's an updated Pixel Mod built for O-DP4! :highfive: The navigation bar + animation is still an issue. But hopefully APKTool 2.2.4 will bring full support for Android O soon or hopefully I'll find another way. The "Double Tap to Check Notifications" is almost ready I believe. So stay tuned for that.
Also, I've added a custom feature to the Pixel Launcher. The Pixel Launcher in Android O allows you to choose different icon shapes (such as square, rounded square, etc.)? For those who want this mod with stock icons, I added the stock icons into that setting. Just look for "Stock Nexus"!
I don't have a Nexus 5X to test this, but the work is the same. So I've created the same mod for the Nexus 5X. Because I don't have the phone to test, feedback would be much appreciated.
If you get a problem with Pixel Launcher repeatedly force closing, go into settings from your quick settings and grant Pixel Launcher notification access. Thanks to

-For some reason, yes. Gmail and Play Store are not converting to round for some reason. Work in Progress.
Substratum?
-This mod may break Substratum. If you want to use Substratum don't flash this mod. If you have, then just reflash your system.img to return to stock. If you want details, look for the footer*.
Notification Dots aren't working?!
-Make sure to enable the Notification Dots too. Go into the Pixel Launcher Settings (tap and hold like if you were adding a widget or changing a wallpaper). In the settings there is a category "Notification Dots". Even if it says "On" tap on it. Make sure "Allow Notification Dots" is on. Mine will do a little glitch like I repeatedly tapped it. I think it's just a bug in the Preview version of Pixel Launcher. But that should bring you the Dots if you don't have it.

Here's my reply in my 6P thread about this mod breaking Substratum:
"My guess if this mod breaks Substratum, it's not so much the mod, but Android O. Android O introduces it's own native theming support, which is why the Pixel and the Nexus have practically the exact same framework-res.apk. It's because the Pixel is actually utilizing a theme that is found in the vendor.img. If you look at the installed system apps of a Pixel on Android O, there's a new app called Pixel.apk. That's the theme. That shows up just like installed Substratum themes do.
I can guarantee you 100% that I can make this mod work with Substratum though, I've done it over and over again. The problem is I have to enable that theming support on the 6P instead of directly modifying the framework-res.apk. Remember the "Device Theme" setting in the first 2 previews? That's still there. Just hidden. I don't know how to activate it. But if you install the Pixel.apk theme from the Pixel in the vendor partition (has to be done manually) and then install a Substratum theme. What you find is that the "Device Theme" option appears. And you can then choose from your Substratum Theme or the Pixel theme. Just disable the Substratum theme (don't uninstall) and choose the Pixel.
However, I can't make that happen yet in just a flashable zip, so I don't have that as the released mod. But if you want Substratum compatibility, that's the way to do it"

Totally worked as I had a different custom theme applied at that time. Thanks!

Nice theme, i found a bug in gallery app
The "notifcation-search- three dot menu" and "share - delete - three dot menu" is invisible because the font is white
Also there's a pop notification showing the theme is error every 3-5 minutes

Tittle of this thread shows your theme was for all galaxy devices. So i installed it on my s7e and applied it. OMG, screen is black 30s after that. I could not do nothing. My phone almost got soft brick. Thanks God, it has TWRP inside. I opened TWRP -->Advanced..-->File manager. Went to /data/app/xxxxxVMixxxx and deleted this folder. Now i can use my device like before installing your theme.

It's because of the new phone update from Samsung.
After the recent phone update it keeps on fc

Tittle of this thread shows your theme was for all galaxy devices. So i installed it on my s7e and applied it. OMG, screen is black 30s after that. I could not do nothing. My phone almost got soft brick. Thanks God, it has TWRP inside. I opened TWRP -->Advanced..-->File manager. Went to /data/app/xxxxxVMixxxx and deleted this folder. Now i can use my device like before installing your theme.

Im so sorry for your bad Experience. You can reboot to safe mode if that happens again and then delete the theme. Ive uploaded a Common version that will work with other devices... The v3 normal one is kind of specific to s9 that's why you faced that problem. Im sorry again! Use the V3Com on your device. It'll work perfectly! Thanks ?
